My Cherished Constellation is Ursa Minor, also known as the little dipper. I have
always been drawn to Ursa Minor because I have a series of moles on my leg that, as
a child, I would play connect the dots on and discovered it looked a lot like the little
dipper. I also had a special connection to the Ursa Minorconstellation because it is
often depicted as the little bear and bears are one of my favorite animals. Ursa Minor
is the 56th constellation in size and contains one of the brightest stars and most

Eglin Air Force Base was originally started as Valparaiso Airport in 1933. There was

In the first part of the workshop, we explored the dramatic potential of still images,
based on the stimulus of photographs given from the columbine massacre, and
enhanced the impact of these images through the use of thought tracking.
The photos we chose portrayed the destruction and pain of the aftermath caused by
the columbine high school massacre vividly. As a group of three, we depicted the
parents of a victim of the massacre at their child s grave. I played the role of the
father in this freeze frame. As a group, we felt that contrasting facial expressions
would best portray the image dramatically. Whilst the victim displayed an extremely
neutral facial expression, connoting his lifeless nature and removal from the
continued existence of the community, my facial expression was purposefully tense
in order to demonstrate the pain and loss my character was experiencing.

the boy. The boy could be considered the painted bird because he is an outcast like
the bird and treated indifferently as the bird. As the boy travels throughout the story
he is constantly humiliated and beaten by many strangers and his caretakers

and what to expect from other villagers he might come across in his life.
