FryskLab is an initiative of Library Service Friesland (Bibliotheekservice Fryslân, BSF) and the Frisian public library network. Friesland is a rural province in the northern part of the Netherlands and FryskLab, operating from a truck formerly used as a bookmobile, is Europe’s first official library FabLab, or “fabrication laboratory”. Its varied team consists of IT specialists, arts management professionals and librarians, and its goal is to examine the extent to which this mobile FabLab initiative contributes to the development of creative, technical and entrepreneurial skills of children and young adults. The project is ultimately expected to result in an increase of the innovative capacities of the entire province of Friesland.
Officially launched in 2014, FryskLab has so far received a number of awards, including the American Library Association’s (ALA) 2017 Presidential Citations for Innovative International Library Projects award. Making knowledge and sharing the future, the motto of the FryskLab project, reinforces the role of libraries in facilitating access to various “tools of knowledge” (equipment and technology) and providing support in the form of various educational and training programmes, effectively bringing together physical and digital, traditional and modern means of acquiring knowledge.

Wikipedia comes from the Hawaiian word for "quick" and "pedia" from encyclopedia. It started in English and is now the largest English encyclopedia with over 290 million articles in 301 languages and 500 million monthly visitors, making it one of the top 10 websites. Users can freely edit, add comments and their own articles from different perspectives.
Public libraries in The Netherlands: a powerful network
In this presentation I will briefly present the structure of the public library network in the Netherlands, with particular emphasis on the way public library innovation is “organised”. There is currently a community of practice (CoP) organised for every specific area of library innovation which at the same time also addresses officially established national priorities, i.e. lifelong learning, development of traditional library services, education of the young population, etc. Librarians in each of the CoPs share experiences specific to their field based on which they identify future activities aimed at the development of the particular field. Librarians included in this CoP system come from libraries of all types and sizes regardless of the province or region.

Wikipedia BSU Presentation
This document discusses and compares the Encyclopedia Britannica and Wikipedia as knowledge sources that are dependent on technology. It notes that while the EB was first published in 1771, Wikipedia launched in 2001 and has since grown rapidly due to its open wiki model that allows collaborative editing by people. Wikis
A wiki is a website that allows collaborative editing of its content and structure by its users. Wikis are easy to update and customize. The most well-known wiki is Wikipedia, which hosts over 10 million articles across 253 languages as of 2008. Wikis can be used by communities, organizations, schools, and businesses to collaboratively author and edit documents, manage projects, and share information in a central location. Common uses of wikis include establishing an internal company website or intranet, organizing meeting notes and documents, and managing calendars and agendas. Popular wiki platforms include WikiSpaces, MediaWiki, and PBWiki.

Architects started as makers of mass. Later, this idea evolved into the thought that the spaces carved out in buildings were the true art of architecture. As society evolved and mass transit provided the opportunity for many different classes, races and geographical groups would be in the same space, architecture began to embody utopian ideals of society.
Similarly, the “user experience” field began with the study of the interactions between people & computers. UX designers bridged the cognitive gap between people’s minds & the logical 1’s and 0’s of machines. As “user-centered” design & social media continue to grow, UX’ers realize they create frameworks in which brands build connections to customers, even facilitating interaction between those users: Interaction Design. A 2D space that gives people agency to participate in desired patterns. Social Choreography.
If there's anything to be borrowed from the practice of architecture to help UX, its the power of the diagram. The key to great UX is ensuring we meet both business and user goals by mating the mental models of the people interacting with the experiences we design.
