This document summarizes a Google Hangout panel discussion about the Chronicling America website and its resources for teachers. The panel included school librarians and educators from the Library of Congress. It provides information about the scope and growth of Chronicling America, which contains over 7 million newspaper pages from 1836 to 1922. It also lists some of the primary source sets, lesson plans, and blog posts available on the site for classroom instruction. Two of the panelists shared examples of how they have used historical newspapers from Chronicling America and related books in their teaching about major snowstorm events.
