The study examines socio-economic mobility among Scheduled Castes in Mugalmagri village, Punjab, highlighting the entrenched caste system's impact on social hierarchy and discrimination. Efforts post-independence have aimed to improve their socio-economic conditions through education and welfare, leading to some social mobility and increased political consciousness. The research utilizes 100 respondents to analyze changes in occupation, education, and the effects of inter-caste marriages and religious conversions on the mobility of Scheduled Castes.
