Two Ways to Look at Life | The Only StoryDilip Barad
There were two ways of looking at life; or two extremes of viewpoint, anyway, with a continuum between them.
One proposed that every human action necessarily carried with it the obliteration of every other action which might have been performed instead; life therefore consisted of a succession of small and large choices, expressions of free will, so that the individual was like the captain of some paddle steamer chugging down the mighty Mississippi of life.
The other proposed that it was all inevitability, that pre-history ruled, that a human life was no more than a bump on a log which was itself being propelled down the mighty Mississippi, tugged and bullied, smacked and wheedled, by currents and eddies and hazards over which no control was possible.

Love = Passion + Suffering

Hadj Ounis's most notable work is his sculpture titled "Metamorphosis." This piece showcases Ounis's mastery of form and texture, as he seamlessly combines metal and wood to create a dynamic and visually striking composition. The juxtaposition of the two materials creates a sense of tension and harmony, inviting viewers to contemplate the relationship between nature and industry.

o The Guru Purnima is more of celebration of spiritual / religious Guru rather
than the academic one. We should look at this day and may celebrate it in
reverence to those academic gurus who play the role of spiritual guru while
dealing with their academic role. Just as spiritual gurus are supposed to make
people understand the world and philosophical questions pertaining to life,
death, sorrows, suffering, happiness and importance of ‘karma’ in individual’s
life; similarly, if this is done while teaching the academic topics, the academic
guru can be equated with spiritual guru. Such academic teachers shall talk
about rationality, scientific temper against superstitions, balance between
intuitive knowledge and intellect, ascertain that there is difference between
ignorance and innocence, between light and darkness. Such teachers will
become as powerful as spiritual gurus and the celebration of Guru Purnima in
academic institutions may be aptly justified.
o Lastly, it should never be forgotten that – ultimately, we have to leave all
Gurus / teachers and be our own Guru. At the same time, it should not be
forgotten that we are the medium, Knowledge is true Guru!
