The document discusses green purchasing and defines what constitutes a green purchase according to Moonee Valley's criteria. It provides examples to illustrate the criteria. A green purchase is one that meets at least one of four criteria: 1) goods from a green supplier, 2) goods that green the business, 3) services from a green provider, or 4) services that green the business. The key aspects are that a green purchase must be an improvement over current practices and preferably meet best practices. The definition is meant to be flexible enough to accommodate progress toward more sustainable options.

Review on Green Supply Chain Management as a Strategic Approach for Better Co...YogeshIJTSRD
Development based on sustainability is the key to ensure a firm’s endurance and green supply chain management practices improves performance by considering environmental laws and standards, increasing customer awareness, and reducing adverse environmental effects through products and services. Strategies aligned with the green supply chain helps firms with creation of opportunities for better performance and meet the requirements of sustainability. This review paper aims to gain insights based on management of the green supply chain and its strategic effect on corporate performance through competitiveness. Based on the review, it is confirmed that a greener supply network has various benefits related to it and implementing green supply chain practices in sync with strategic planning can enhance corporate performance of firms in varied aspects. However, it also highlighted a research gap as there are limited studies showcasing the measured effect of greener supply network strategies and initiatives on corporate performance of a firm. Lastly, the paper contributes with avenues for further research with the possibilities of strategic approaches for a greener value chain to elucidate its impact quantitatively. Sanath. This is a Research report presentation made by Students of Iqra University | Gulshan e Iqbal Campus Karachi, Pakistan for their Research Proposal I & II Course in B.B.A Hons. Program on the topic of Green Supply Chain practices in 3rd party logistics company in Karachi.
This presentation provides an introduction to the key concepts of the sustainable supply chain, providing definitions of sustainability, explaining climate change and the ways that supply chains can be expected to change in the future, as a result of the need to "go green".
Green design principles are introduced, including the need to avoid creating a "monstrous hybrid". The limitations of recycling are explained and the need for business models centred upon reuse is made clear. The presentation is designed for use at HE5 and HE6 (UK second year or final year Bachelors degree) but it could also be of interest to companies and individuals.
The slides are downloadable, and the download includes presenter notes – plus a short sustainability game that was used in class.

PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

“…procurement activities that aim towards

“The ultimate green procurement is the avoidance
of the purchase altogether.”
7. COMMITMENT
Many of our staff have taken great green purchasing initiatives.
MVCC is committed to green purchasing.
We set out this commitment in our:
- Environment Sustainability Plan in 2007
- Waste Management Strategy in 2008
- Procurement Policy in 2010
We have systems to record and report on our
green purchases.
BUT, the most important element is our staff and how
they go about purchasing.
8. HOW WE RECORD GREEN PURCHASES
• Select your green category at point of requisition
• One Green Selection Code no matter how many (different) line
items purchased
• Currently aligned to the most expensive line item.

36. Summary of Moonee Valley definition
If you are going to measure
something you must measure it
against something you know.
You need a benchmark to judge your
purchases to decide if they are green.
37. Summary of Moonee Valley definition
Everybody’s green is different, so
the best benchmark is your own.
Generally, if it is better than where you
are currently at, then it‟s a green
purchase.
38. Summary of Moonee Valley philosophy:
Change.
We are living in a changing world.
We see the principle of green
purchasing as positive change.
If your purchase represents a positive
change for the environment, it is
almost certainly a green purchase.
