Technology Advances And Medical Devices For Consumer Use
Introduction
As technology advances, medical devices are able to record increasing amounts of information.
These devices are also becoming much more assessable to consumers than in the past. In Adam
Tanner s article Health Entrepreneur Debates Going To Data s Dark Side, he discusses the
company Safe Heart. Safe Heart is developing medical devices for consumer use. These devices
are able to measure values like blood oxygen saturation, heart rate, and perfusion index. Being
able to collect these massive amounts of data, places these devices in the realm of big data.
Although the topic of big data imposes its own issues, the medical nature of the data creates an
additional set of important issues. Safe Heart is not the first organization to develop devices that
collect big quantities of data. In recent years, many organizations have begun to capture and use
large quantities of medical data. Hospitals, credit agencies and researchers have all started to use
medical data to the advantage of either the patient or their own corporation. With all the data being
captured, there are legal and ethical issues that become apparent.
Main Issues
The most prominent issue related to big healthcare technology data is a legal one. The Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act(HIPAA), protects health data that is transmitted by a
certain groups and organizations [1]. It states that consent must be obtained from the patient to
distribute any information to a third party. The

Media And Gender Stereotypes
Sheryl Sandberg, an activist, once said We can each define ambition and progress for ourselves.
The goal is to work towards a world where expectations are not set by the stereotypes that hold us
back, but by our personal passion, talents, and interests. Media is easily accessible to many and
is where millions look for role models. Through the media, high standards are set for women,
men, and children all more than likely unattainable. Body types are knit picked along the side of
what people wear. TV programs will speak about their political views, opinions, and beliefs and at
this age, it s hard to understand what all of it truly means.
Most of the time we will just go with what everyone else believes, it s easier and they won t cause
any conflict. All of this is forced upon us without asking for it, eventually affecting the outlook on
certain things and permanently altering emotions towards serious matters. This is something that I
would not wish upon anyone, but it is actually happening to everyone. The media is full of
perception altering advertisements and television programs that cause the subconscious to forever
be revised to the opinions and beliefs presented.
The most commonly discussed problem with media advertisements is the stereotypes that are fed,
especially gender stereotypes. Stereotyping is described as a widely held but fixed and
oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. Print advertisements, television

Inside The Door Effect Versus Door On The Face Effect

Foot In The Door Effect Versus Door In The Face Effect
Foot In The Door
The Foot in the Door Effect is essentially where an individual requests a potential participant to
engage in a simple task in the hopes that they are more likely to engage in a more difficult task
afterwards. The belief behind this effect is that the individual requested to engage in the simpler
task or tasks will develop a sense of confidence or willingness after the task has been completed.
Essentially, after each smaller task, the participant will more likely be willing to engage in the
difficult task. This is what is considered to be a confidence builder and it allows for the
individual to feel more confortable in performing the difficult task. The Foot in the door effect is
also considered to be a technique relatively consistent based on its initial task. In comparison to the
Foot In The Door Effect, the Door In The Face Effect can be defined as the persuaders attempt to
convince their participants to initially undertake a difficult task prior to engaging in less difficult
tasks in hopes for increasing compliance. The belief behind this effect is that the participant will
be more likely to engage in smaller tasks after initially being requested to engage in a larger task.
The prior request to engage in the more difficult task may be thought of as the

Weaknesses [72 words]
There are two weaknesses that appeared recently. The first one is a quarter of its stores have under
used space, by which means that it has reach its potential capacity and is not productive enough.
The second one is that apparently Sainsburys needs to regain its reputation again because it is
suspected that Sainsburys had led the Big 4 to a collusion; Consequently, lt will lose its customers
trust and therefore, their loyality.
Opportunities [60 words]
Two opportunities that are the most realistic to pursue are to develop a new non core sector and to
do intensive market research. Non core sectors that can be reinvested are pharmacies and clothing.
Furthermore, by doing more market research, there should be less risk of product failure and also
by doing so, they could understand what the customers need and want.
Threats [106 words]
Refering to Porter s Five Forces, two major threats have been identified: rivalry among existing
competitors (Big 4) and threats of new entrants (Aldi and Lidl). One reason why competition
among Big 4 is very intense is because supermarket industry can be catagorized as Olygopoly,
which means interdepence is a critical point; An action made by one supermarket will affect all

The Influence Of Technique
Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto, Austin Trout, Erislandy Lara, Shane Mosley, Amir Khan, and
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr are names that would appear on the resume of a hall of fame veteran on
his way to retirement, yet this resume belongs to a twenty seven year old with years left in the
gas tank. Canelo Alvarez isn t a perfect fighter; he lost against Floyd Mayweather, and people have
criticized some of his recent fights. Nevertheless, he deserves a lot more credit from the boxing
community than he s getting now.
How could a young fighter with a great resume be ranked lower among fans and media than
fighters with less than stellar resumes? Vasyl Lomachenko is a great fighter with a bright future,

In 2014, he decided to take on Erislandy Lara against his team s wishes and common sense. Lara
was a skilled boxer that was feared by most people in the junior middleweight division, but
Alvarez decided to take him on to prove he wasn t afraid to take a step up in competition.
As you all know, that fight didn t help Alvarez in the eyes of the public. He beat Lara in a close
fight, but that wasn t enough for the boxing community. Instead of being applauded for winning
a close fight with someone he could ve easily avoided, the dominant storyline was that Lara was
robbed. Yes, there was the ridiculous 117 111 score, but the fight was close enough for Alvarez to
get the nod. Nevertheless, the boxing community couldn t come to grips with the fact that a close
fight doesn t equal a robbery, so Alvarez didn t get the amount of praise Golovkin got in his recent
close fight with Daniel Jacobs.
The weirdest part of all of this is how the networks and media treat Canelo Alvarez. Alvarez is
one of the biggest pay per view stars in boxing. His fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. drew over 1
million paper view buys, which is almost unheard of outside of Mayweather and Pacquiao. With
numbers like that, you would think it would be in the best interest of boxing to push Canelo
Alvarez as the next all time great. Alvarez brings in more money for HBO than any fighter in their
catalog, yet they don t praise him as much as

Valentine Target Audience
There has never been a time where product or service marketing is geared to target a specific
segment or niche than today. This is a period in history where the most successful companies are
those that have identified a specific group of people in the marketplace and designed their products
and services to satisfy their particular needs and tastes.
When you don t have the right knowledge about your specific market, you could end up targeting
the wrong market with the wrong product or service in the wrong way! And this equals low
product sales.
So what s a target market?
Basically, it is a specific group of people you have decided to sell your product or service to. A
target market can either be a niche (small group) or a large market.

And this can be an excellent way of marketing to people from diverse demographics.
For example, a strict organic food restaurant can attract customers from diverse age groups and not
only the elderly. This is because even the younger generation are now keener on their health.
Therefore psychographic segmentation focuses on the following: Lifestyle, social class, personality,
interests and values of the consumers.
Behavioral
As its name suggests, behavioral segmentation targets how people behave. This however, emanates
from a customers response to, use or knowledge of to a certain product.
For example, you will target your Valentines day customers from as early as the first day of
February. So as a company, you have to target the behavior surrounding this occasion and cash out
of it. The following criteria are inclusive of behavioral segmentation:
Occasional buying
Rate of product usage
Product benefits
Loyalty to a product brand.
Well, you may still be contented of how your product or service appeals to a larger market.
However you can t underestimate the results that comes with learning target marketing which can

One of the most puzzling questions in anthropology is why...
One of the most puzzling questions in anthropology is why marriage and incest taboos are nearly
universal institutions in human societies. In order to answers these questions their many theories
will be explained and compared.
There are many theories for the universal institution of marriage. It solves a few problems between
men and women, but these problems cannot be considered the prime motivation for marriage as an
institution. Some of these problems include sharing the products of gendered labor, caring for
extremely dependent offspring, and minimizing sexual competition.
If sharing the products of labor was the cause of the development of marriage, why did humans not
evolve a more efficient system of distribution? If minimizing ... Show more content on

Sex and Gender are two very different concepts in anthropology. Sex refers to the biological
differences inherent in males and females. Gender is a socially and culturally defined construction
and may be different between different societies. In many different cultures gender differences do
not always align with sexual differences. Many cultures in fact see male and female as opposing
ends of a continuum; there may be many intermediate genders between male and female.
These social constructions may be very difficult to separate from the biological realities of
maleness and femaleness. For example a cross cultural study done by anthropologists recorded that
boys within many societies tend to be more aggressive than the females within that same culture.
Females in turn tend to be more nurturing in those cultures. Since these differences are universal,
are they a product of biological differences? Or do all societies need men and women for different
roles and so they socialize their children appropriately? A study on Australian aborigines has shown
a high level of female aggression, leading many researchers to speculate that behavioral differences
are cultural in origin. The Navajo of Southwestern United States

A Great Philosopher
A great philosopher once stated that if man were to be left alone for any period, man would
create a multiple of highly controversial practices that invite slavery more than freedom. When
one opens a new bag of shredded cheese or fresh salad, the vacuum releases it grasp of
compressed air allowing the contents to breath monetarily with easy. The fall of any Empire

The Black Beauty Myth By Sirena Riley
The author of The Black Beauty Myth Sirena Riley has encountered multiple experiences
concerning body image throughout her life. At a young age, she started to feel the pressure to
have a perfect body. The struggle of making herself perfect ultimately lead to eating disorders for
instance, bulimia and compulsive exercising. In her journey from a young age to her college
years she has learned better ways to deal with negative body image through therapy. In her
article, she states I was in three body image and eating disorder groups with other young women
on my campus. I was always the only black woman. (Riley 2002, 229) This quote supports her
belief that black women have body image issues but are not open to seeking help or expressing...

Sirena describes a radio contest where a free plastic surgery is given away to the contestant who
describes all their insecurities and why they deserve the surgery. This type of contest allows
women to believe plastic surgery is the way to fix their body image in order to fit societal body
ideals. When women of color are exposed to this kind of statement, it enables them to believe
that it is ideal to get surgery when unhappy with your body. The last factor that influences body
image is social influences, especially family. In the Essay, Sirena often acknowledges her family
s opinion of her weight. When she lost weight family members made it known that they couldn t
believe it was her and some told her they knew she would eventually grow out of her baby fat to
become a beautiful woman. Since her weight was fluctuating, her family always had their
opinions. Her grandfather offered to pay her a thousand dollars if she lost weight. In this type of
setting negative body image is inevitable. Furthermore, at the point in her life where she lost
weight people at her school started treating her better. This shows that society only praises wat is
identified as the norm. Sirena Riley has learned to accept her body throughout her years of
experiences. She believes all women s relationships with body image should be talked about in
feminism. Black women s body dissatisfaction,

A Great Book Is Not A Work Of Luck
Simply created from pieces of paper, ink, and a person s imagination, books have transformed
the human s daily routines. All books can be broken down into these three basic ingredients but
they are set apart by a few items. These small details separate a phenomenal book from a plain
novel. A great book is not a work of luck but rather, of skill. A great book has relatable characters,
develops an emotional connection to the reader, and features an unpredictable plotline.
Characters are often a figment of the author s imagination. In order for any media to be appealing
to the average human, characters must be relatable. There are many types of characters in a novel,
such as a main character vs. a supporting character, a protagonist vs. an antagonist, and a dynamic
character vs. a static character. In order for a book to be great, these characters must have a
background or some detail of their past history that relates to the book s audience. For instance, in
the first book of Harry Potter, the first few chapters were devoted to introducing the protagonist
and antagonist s backgrounds and their past history in a way that appealed to the preteen age
group. With this, the author could build on these characters and have them act certain ways to
further the story. Often, when readers get drawn to the story, they have already developed a
favourite character and a character they may detest. This makes the book great to them because
they feel as if they are a part of the story.

Researchers estimates that one in ten children and adolescents suffers from illness severe enough
to cause some level of psychiatric problems in the United States (Gonazles, 2005). Internationally,
the World Health Organization predicted has by year 2020 individuals suffering from psychiatric
disorders will increase by over 50% to become one of the most five common cause of mortality,
morbidity and impairment in children (Department of Health and Human Services, 2000 as cited in
Gonalzes, 2005). Sadly, counties with a shortage of mental health service providers are rural
counties, and primary care physicians provide most mental health services in rural areas if services
are available at all. In addition less than 20% of psychotropic medications dispensed in the United
States, whether rural or urban practice settings, are practitioners with mental health training
(Campbell, Kearns Patchin, 2006). This paper will attempt to explore the benefits of expanding
School Base Mental Health programs and improving access to mental health treatment for in rural
or urban areas and minimize stigma.

The First Battle Of Bull Run Essay
THE FIRST BATTLE OF BULL RUN
On July 21, 1861, two armies, one confederate and the other Union, prepared for the first major
land battle of the Civil War. In 1861 Abraham Lincoln was sworn in as President.
The Southern states had seceded and the South had fired on and captured Fort Sumter on April 12
1861.
After the Fort Sumter battle, both the North and the South began preparing for war by raising
armies. This was done quickly and neither side spent much time training the troops. Both sides also
did not know what a long and terrible war was ahead.

The Confederates at Manassas knew far ahead of this action due to many Southern spies in
Washington. The Southern troops spread in lines along eight miles of Bull Run Creek. The heaviest
Southern troops were on a ridge around Henry House. After a few skirmishes, the Union Army
arrived at Bull Run on July 21, 1861.
As the Union Army approached Bull Run, General Johnston s army faked an attack at Harpers
Ferry. As the 18,000 Union troops dug in for assault, the Southern forces jumped on rail cars and
headed for Bull Run to reinforce the Confederate Army.
General McDonnell attempted to flank the Confederates by moving north and west, and began
several attacks on the Confederates right flank and the center of the Confederate line at Henry
House.
As the battle wore on, the superior numbers of the Union Army began to wear down the
Confederate lines. At a critical point, as the Confederates began to fall back, an officer pointed
out a line of rebels who were still strong. He said, look at Jackson s men standing like a stone

student interested from the 135 students enrolled at RSD. Cooper noted that the communication
between the mentors and the students was difficult because there were only two interpreters for the

revealed that there were communication issues at the Finger Lakes Regional at RIT. There were
plenty of interpreters for the Deaf students to utilize and the RSD students went in groups around

Theu.s. Constitution And The Constitution
The U.S Constitution is one of the most, if not the most, important documents ever written in
political history. The constitution established America s national government and provided the
fundamental framework for the present and future legal parameters by which the american people
would be governed by. The Constitution was officially signed September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia
during a constitutional convention. In order for the constitution to actually be an official document,
it had to have been ratified meaning that at least nine of the thirteen states present had to approve
this document. It was easy for the first seven voters to make their decisions who were pro
constitution (federalists), but nevertheless, there were people, anti federalists, who did not support
the constitution. Although they did not want the Articles of Confederationin place, neither did they
want to ratify the constitution because they opposed of having a strong central government. The
ratification of the constitution changed the face of the United Statesand set forth a model for future
documents to come. Federalists fought very hard against their opposing party. Why was it so
important to the federalist to get this constitution ratified? The constitution not only meant
something to the federalists, but without this ratification, it could have led to secession, and this
ratification was needed to make improvements to the government. What exactly did the constitution
mean for the federalists? The

Adam And Eve Loss Of Knowledge Essay
The tale of Adam and Eve, an infamous account in the book of Genesis, depicts man s original
disobedience in eating of the Tree of Knowledge and serves as humankind s first archetype of the
innate relationship between lost innocence and the attainment of knowledge. As portrayed in the
story, God s severe punishment of Adam and Evefor consuming the forbidden fruit insinuates that
it is wrong to desire knowledge, more specifically, the knowledge of humanity s potential for good
and evil. The resultant loss of innocence from gaining this moral comprehension is all too
frequently regarded as sinful, undesirable, and ultimately regrettable. The concept however, of
pursuing a greater understanding of the natures of others and oneself is not fundamentally wrong
as it expresses a kind of valuable moral growth. As evidenced by further analysis of the story of
Adamand Eve, it is apparent that although acquiring knowledge does... Show more content on

In the case of Adam and Eve, the two became gradually more knowledgeable after eating the fruit
and were forced to depart from the childlike innocence that they had experienced in the Garden of
Eden. This same departure is further illustrated by the responsibilities that children are assigned
once they begin to mature. No longer are they solely accountable for their own person, but their
actions must also reflect consideration for the well being of those around them as they now have
the ability to reflect upon issues outside of themselves. This erasure of ignorance is of great
importance as it now allows for the construction of moral dimension within mankind. The
consumption of the fruit symbolizes the acquirement of a wealth of moral knowledge for Adam and
Eve and the recognition of their individual obligations in human

Analysis Of The Book Gulliver s Travels
Quite obviously, Lemuel Gulliver is the most focused on character in Jonathan Swift s novel
Gulliver s Travels, as he is the most characteristically developed. Gulliver is from a middle class
English family and we see all angles of his personality, his morals, and his behavior through the
various situations he finds himself in and his observable conduct and the actions he choses to take
in those situations. Gulliver learned a lot throughout his many journeys, and this leads him to
realize more about humanity. After all of his expeditions to Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa, and
Houyhnhnms, Gulliver s experiences cause his view on mankind to change drastically. At first, we
only get to see the very fundamentals of Gulliver as a person, though as the novel progresses he
builds into a more fleshed out character.
In the preliminary chapters of the novel, Gulliver is portrayed as a relatively average and simple
man. He tells a brief overview of his financial and educational standing in society; He went to
Emanuel College in Cambridge and was an apprentice to Mr. James bates, an eminent surgeon (21).
Gulliver also has a Wife and Family (22), who get introduced, but not further developed as
characters. Although he s the most focused on character in the story, there doesn t necessarily
appear to be any extraordinary thing about him that separates him from other human beings. His
actions aren t as daring, courageous, or bold as one may expect from a main character. Swift uses

Today I will be telling you about the packing of Oreo s. Every time the manufactories make a
bag of Oreo s there s always 30 to a package. They usually cost $2.75. Even when the
manufacturers makes small bags of Oreo s. Which only come with 25 cookies they still charge
you the same price. So what is is the better quanti of the two bags of Oreo s . Also why are they
charging us the same amount for a smaller bag. When we can just buy the bigger bag for the
same amount. Also why aren t they bringing down the price when the bag get s smaller. I think
they should bring down the price when the bag get s smaller. Also I think people will start buying

We also need are papers to look off of in case we need more information. First we would have to

cookies in a small bag it would be the better unit because you get 5 more cookies and you re
paying the same price as the smaller bag so over all the big bag would be the better unit. So first
i looked at the the two unites and the prices. Then i seen which one was the better unit out of the

Harvey Milk Thesis Statement
Due to the increasingly negative view of homosexuality in the late 1970 s and early 1980 s, the
LGBTQ community was facing a world altering decision; they could either shrink into the
background, and allow the world to continue to draw its opinions based on speculation, or claim
the spotlight and allow themselves to be judged based on their own merit. Harvey Milk, the first
openly gay elected official in the United States (Hope Speech, Commentary) saw a need for an
uprising of the latter. When addressing a crowd of his supporters and the Lesbian, Gay, Bi
Sexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) people in The Hope Speech at San Francisco City Hall
on Gay Freedom Day in 1978, Harvey Milk uses the I You/Us Them relationships as defined by
Martin Buber, pathos appeals, and shared experiences to establish an emotional bond with the
LGBTQ community. This relationship of comradery and mentorship, deeply rooted in shared
values, best prepared the crowd to absorb his message of activism and hope. Harvey Milk,
though he had known since high school that he was gay (Biography), was initially outwardly
ambivalent to legislation passed against the LGBTQ community. This all changed after he
befriended a group of gay radicals in his mid forties. They propelled him into the politically
charged world of activism, in which he developed his voice, and stood out as a leader in the
LGBTQ community. Milk stood on the steps of the San Francisco s City Hall to celebrate Gay
Freedom, but also to

Langston Hughes Metaphors
Langston Hughes uses imagery, metaphors, and symbolism to easily relate to the audience about his
perspective of life and dreams. His poems provide an understanding of the purpose of dreams and
freedom. That without dreams there would be no reason to try to accomplish more, that people
wouldn t be determined to become stronger and more fulfilling. This style that Hughes uses is
accomplished through his connection with the readers. This connection is provided by his
symbolism, imagery, and metaphors. The symbolism that is introduced by Langston Hughes
represents obstacles, and hard work that lead up to the freedom and the fulfillment of dreams. A
dream is basically a person s desire. Therefore, his symbolism represents that desire and how

Truman Capote s The Cold Blood
Truman Capote s In Cold Blood is a stupendously written book, regularly acclaimed for it s
unparalleled style. As needs be, readers mustn t look exceptionally far before they discover a
surplus of rhetoric. Capote is regularly credited with having made the first crime novel, and he
didn t get this praise by composing such as others. He utilized his fascinating composition style to
make his readers feel as if they were really in the book, rather than preserving the barrier between
the reader and the page. He permitted them to get inside the character s heads and truly know
them, seeing flickers into the character s pasts while, likewise, foretelling events to come. He wrote
with a very, for the time, eccentric style, but also one that ended up being incredibly powerful.
Capote was genuinely a craftsman with his words. His utilization of imagery throughout makes the
reader feel as if they are truly in Kansas, Nevada, Mexico or wherever else Capote put them. This
is evident as Capote paints the image, Mountains. A hawk wheeling in a white sky. A dusty road
winding into and out of a white and dusty village, (107) which permit the reader to feel like they,
themselves, are in Mexico. Capote rehashes the same technique merely a page after, emphasizing
the cruciality of the scene. At that point, Capote portrays Richard Hickock s cold, oily tortilla
leaving a greasy taste in the reader s mouth. Capote s capacity to paint an image out of words was

The art of animation was first introduced as early as the 1900 s. Since technology did not allow
for advanced types of animation to be produced, it was extremely limited in its early days. One
of the first people to gain popularity over their animation films was Walt Disney, who was an
important influence on Burton s film making. Moreover, in Corpse Bride, Burton and his crew
provide a scene very similar to Disney s 1929 s short film The Skeleton Dance. Special
choreography was taken particularly from the short and was incorporated into Corpse Bride giving
it an old fashioned, but enjoyable touch. Even though Disney s family friendly cartoons served as
an enormous influence on Burton s decision to start producing children s animation films,
Claymation is the true type of animation Burton uses in Corpse Bride. Claymation is a form of
animation using special techniques to snap different frames at once to allow it to produce an
animated effect called slow motion animation. Many contemporary animators adhere to Claymation
due to its unique and realistic characteristics. Films that use Claymation animation include modern
movies such as Coraline (2009) or even older films such as Gumbasia (1955). Due to the extensive

In the article In the land of the free are you free to sit out the national anthem? Jaweed Kaleem

anthem and the debate that came along with it. Kaepernick is a supporter and activist for Black

was African American. I support Kaepernick because many African American athletes feel like they
represent a country that does not represent them and because Kaepernick is just exercising his
freedom of speech that is written clearly in the first amendment of the Constitution.
Many African American athletes throughout the years have felt like they represent a country that

stories Clowning Around and All the Different Kinds of Rats are the same in the sense that they

differences, but the big topic here is a problem. Firstly, the similarities between the two pieces.
The message of unity or lack thereof is portrayed in both pieces. Passages like The people then

The story Clowning Around is told in a broad, third person viewpoint. The story takes place in a
prolonged amount of time in 745 words, but there are quick transitions and quick elevation of
tension, but there is a sense of graduality that works out in the authors favor. The story jumps
from the sun rising to the as the people wake up multiple times. All the Different Kinds of Rats,
however, has a specific third person perspective and a small time frame. Only one day in 737
words, but the detail from the newspapers and gum to a diminutive mattress this story isn t entirely

two stories are completely different, but I think that the way that Clowning Around represents
reality is quite brilliant, and the social commentary of what can happen is so genius that you need
to read between the lines to notice it. All the Different Kinds of Rats, on the other hand, is a story
about two poor brothers struggling through everyday life, and while this does convey a deeper
message, it doesn t feel like the author made any comment on a relevant

The Un Recent Drafting Of A Sustainable Development Goals...
This essay is going to discuss the UN recent drafting of a set of Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs) and more specifically the idea behind goal number 7 : Ensure access to affordable,
reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all 1. Part One Because energy is one of the most
fundamental states of the universe, it is easily measurable. In physics, calculating the energy of
given a system is one of the most basic problems, whether the question applies to an electronics
problem, thermodynamics one, or mechanical issue. We can thus assume that energy, as a hole,
is easily measurable. The goal seven s first target quotes: 7.1 by 2030 ensure universal access to
affordable, reliable, and modern energy services 2. From this statement, we understand that a
main issue facing today sustainable development is access to energy. Because energy is easily
calculable, it is straightforward to find the amount of energy we use, and the amount that is
needed. Unfortunately, all of these number and terms are subject to twists that contradict
themselves. Who do we define how much energy is needed ? How do we define a reliable and
moderne energy service ? Yet, there is no internationally accepted definition of access to energy.
However, according to the IEA, it can be described as: Household access to a minimum level of
electricity Household access to safer and more sustainable cooking and heating fuels and stoves

The purpose of the bill is to provide support to people with disabilities, in order for them to
function independently in the community and to preserve their rights as a citizen of this country,
as well as reducing the impact of poverty and aiding the procurement of various supports and

In a socioeconomic standpoint, the passage of the bill encourages some financial relief for the
families with disabled members as they are vulnerable to various disparities. However, people with
disabilities still continue to experience an array of disadvantages, whether in economic, health, and

know what the affects can cause to the earth and therefore consumers are more likely to buy

The purpose of their trip was so they could bond, which wouldn t of needed to necessarily happen if
they were already close. Bonding is usually an action for people who have a connection to
strengthen that relationship and make it more meaningful to both parties. The situation that they
endure with the Zombies, however, bonds them much closer then a car ride. The defining scene
is when the two are on a boat in the middle of a lake catching fish for the group, as they learn
more about their relationship and their respective relationships with their father. After this
bonding, the dynamics between them change and they act much closer from thereon out. The

Oppositional Defiant Disorder And Mental Health Disorders...
Oppositional Defiant Disorder is a serious condition which educators need to know how to
address for the safety of the student, the other students and teacher. In the case of Jack, the
situation has become extremely serious for everyone involves which makes it extremely
important for educators to have a rich understanding of the behaviors, risk factors, and potential
training supports associated with ODD. The prevalence of ODD is unknown among children
with mental health disorders in fact, it is estimated to be around 2 through 12 percent since it is
hard to distinguish between other disorders and ODD (Austin Sciarra, 2010). Similar to ADHD,
and autism ODD may be paired with other mental health disorders (Austin Sciarra, 2010). For
instance, I have a student in my class that have been diagnosed with both ADHD and ODD
similar to Joe; he has been known to be extremely disrespectful toward authority in cases such as

It also talks about Patrice Lumumba getting assasinated. It also talks about the diseases the
people in the Congo were going through. Some of these diseases are: malaria, and malnutrition.
They had scarce food sources. They often die from both of these things. This can be read as a
religious allegory because it talks about the Baptist missionaries. They had to deal with the
rejection from the Congolese people. The Congolese people rejected the religion and the Price
family since they were white. The Price family also had to deal with the same diseases and
situations as the people of the Congo. They had to sleep with mosquito nets or the mosquitos would

Application Of The Additive Manufacturing
INTRODUCTION Additive manufacturing has been developing since 19841. Charles hull invented
it. In additive manufacturing 3 dimensional products are built by staking materials layer by layer. It
is also known as 3D printing. The scope of technology is sky rocketed with the intervention of the
fourth dimension time, which is 4D printing technology. The interesting feature of 4D printing is it
can transform from 1D to 3D shape, 1D surface to 3D shape, or can morph from 3D form to another
form. In other words, the products can change and adapt to the external stimuli. This is a recent
advancement in technology additive manufacturingcombined concepts of shape memory materials
and biomimetic composite In a TED conference Sky Tibbits head of MIT self assembly lab, he
presented, how 4D printed object will perform self assemblies over time period. He demonstrated
this process by using 3D printed multi layer material. The multi layer material was strands of
standard plastics which has property of absorbing water. The material will expand and folded into
particular design after absorbing water.
Recent development and researches in 4D printing Another demonstration of 4D printing conducted
on long beach, CA, prefabricated modules placed in rotating chamber. The modules have a magnet
at end. The magnet will activate only when the chamber attains particular temperature. At specified
temperature, the magnets will attract each other and

Amyloid Synthesis
Amyloid beta (AОІ) is a short peptide contains 37 to 43 amino acids and is well known for its
hypothesized role in causing pathogenesis of AD, since one of the main hallmarks of AD is the
accumulation of fibrillogenic AОІ in the grey matter of the brain (14 15). Meanwhile, over 90% of
AD patients have cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) which is characterized by the deposition of
AОІ in capillaries, arteries, and arterioles (16 17). CAA causes the degeneration of smooth muscle
cells and leads haemorrhages (17).
AОІ is generated by proteolytic processing from its precursor, the amyloid precursor protein
(APP), which is a type I oriented membrane protein and its splicing variants include APP695,
APP714, APP751, APP770 (18 21). The isoforms APP751... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The processing of APP involves three proteases, О± , ОІ , and Оі secretases and two processing
pathways, the amyloidogenic pathway and the anti amyloidogenic pathway as shown in Figure 2
(14, 23). The AОІ is generated in amyloidogenic pathway which is mediated by ОІ , and Оі
secretases (14). The ОІ secretase first sheds the ectodomain of APP and generates the APP carboxy
terminal fragment (ОІCTF) (14). Then the Оі secretase cuts at the transmembrane region of ОІCTF
and releases the AОІ into the extracellular fluids like cerebrospinal fluid or plasma (14, 24). In the
anti amyloidogenic pathway О± secretase first cuts at the middle region of AОІ so a trauncated
APP CTF (О±CTF) is generated and after the transmembrane cut of Оі secretase, a truncated AОІ
peptide is released (p3) (Figure 2; 25). The amyloidogenic and anti amyloidogenic competes with
each other (26 27). In addition, when the Оі secretase cuts at the transmembrane region of APP, the
cut site is not restricted to a single position. The Оі secretase first cuts at

Creon Tragic Hero Analysis
Aristotle once spoke that A man doesn t become a hero until he can see the root of his own
downfall. A tragic hero can be defined in many different traits and definitions but what makes a
perfect tragic hero? It also can have many different meanings and actions towards it. A perfect
tragic hero must have a flaw of judgement leading to a tragic flaw also know as a Hamartia. Also
a person who is a royal birth and holds a high place in society. Lastly a tragic hero must discover
or recognize that the reversal was brought about by their own actions. Creon in Antigone is a
perfect example of meeting Aristotle s criteria as a tragic hero.
A hero s tragic flaw is usually due to the character s lack of knowledge, lack of judgment, and
overwhelming pride. The flaw leads to destructive consequences but that does not define the hero
as a bad character. More so Aristotle believes that the tragic hero brings their downfall to evoke
the feelings of pity and fear among the audience. Aristotle says that pity is aroused by unmerited
misfortune, fear by the misfortune of a man like ourselves. This is why majority a of tragic hero s

tragedy where the main character recognizes or identifies his/her true nature, or that of the other
character s true identity, or discovers true nature of his situation, or that of the others, leading to the
resolution of the story. Aristotle criteria also said that anagnorisis is when the character discovers

Essay about The Mexican War by Otis A. Singletary
This book by Otis A. Singletary deals with different aspects of the Mexican war. It is a
compelling description and concise history of the first successful offensive war in United States
military history. The work examines two countries that were unprepared for war. The political
intrigues and quarrels in appointing the military commanders, as well as the military operations of
the war, are presented and analyzed in detail. The author also analyzes the role that the Mexican
War played in bringing on the U.S. Civil War.
The Mexican American War of the 1840s, precipitated by border disputes and the U.S. annexation
of Texas, ended with the military occupation of Mexico City by General Winfield Scott. In the
subsequent treaty, the United ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The book uses maps and pictures. Maps and pictures are really helpful in visualizing what is being
described, and they allow having and idea of how it was during this war.
The book is simple and easy to read. The author has a good use of English language. He uses
specific words, therefore making his book highly readable.
The book not only give facts that can be found in any history book that deals with this period of
American history (1840 s), but it also makes the reader appreciate a war that has been undermined
by another very popular war, the Civil war. It explains that the annexation of Texas was not the
only reason for going into war; since there were other factors that motivated Americans anger
towards Mexican military which set the stage for conflict. the annexation of Texas was merely the
immediate cause of hostilities. This gives readers another perspective about the war.
Furthermore, Singletary does a great job in describing how politic interest affected the war greatly.
For example Taylor s desire for politic advancement, and how president Polk try to
Writer Joseph Chance stated the following: Otis Singletary s The Mexican War is a concise and
excellent overview of the war. Its greatest strength is the way it brings the personalities and
personal conflicts to life. It provides great insight into the way politics intruded

Racial Tension On Campus Essay
Should it take a football team to force change on campus Recently it has been discovered that at
the University of Missouri there has been racial tension across campus for quite some time now.
Tension that became a big problem and as a result it caused people in high positions to be affected,
protests started, boycotts formed, and even hunger strikes began. Racial tension campus wide that
could ve been resolved on campus now has the attention of the world. Racial tension that has been
ignored and put aside now has become the main problem for the Universityof Missouri. It gives the
University of Missouri a bad name and has and will effect the university in a lot of ways. The
racial conflict has effected almost everyone on campus and some... Show more content on

Former linebacker and now alumni of the Missouri tigers Michael Sam also expressed his opinion
on the racial tension going at Missouri. There was nobody here. Two tents and a reporter, he said.
Things change when sports gets involved.
Michael Sam s statement is true and sports played a very big role in bringing the help and
attention to the campus to try and put a stop to the racism that was going on. Not only should
football players not go through this but normal students as well. Students should not have to pay
thousands of dollars for an education to get treated any kind of way. The football team makes
millions of dollars every year for the university and the players don t get paid. Most of the
African American football players have been awarded a scholarship and work hard every day to
maintain the scholarship they have earned, so they shouldn t have to face racism and got through
some of the things they went through. In my opinion I would not send my child to the university
of Missouri because of the conflicts and because people just ignore the conflicts on campus. If I
were a parent I would want my child to be in a safe environment and I would want to know that
my child is getting what I paid for. In my opinion it shouldn t have taken the University of Missouri
football team to bring attention to the problems of the campus. The president of the University of
Missouri should have taken action against the

Practical And Practical Theories
Theory : a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on
general principles independent of the thing to be explained .
Practical : of or concerned with the actual doing or use of something rather than with theory and
ideas .
2.2 According to Bradley (2012), knowledge is extremely important to any career as well as to life.
There are various kinds of knowledge and many different ways to attain them. Theory is one type
where as practical application is another. Both sort of knowledge are equally important and makes
our lives better in every way. People who move forward in life have a tendency to acquire both type
of knowledge in multiples ways.

Furthermore, he added that everyone agrees that US has done a better job of preparing students
for the future. He suggested that we can also come up to their level if we should take steps toward
teaching things that students will use in real life and make less use of theory. Universities should
teach students more practical skills that they will use in their future. Concentrating on practical
studies only doesn t mean that we ignore theory we need it too. There is a need of theory also to
understand the basics. Everyone needs to have an understanding of the basics theory before
implementing it in practice, but the problem arise when the universities pay attention on theory
only and ignore the practical

  • 3. Technology Advances And Medical Devices For Consumer Use Introduction As technology advances, medical devices are able to record increasing amounts of information. These devices are also becoming much more assessable to consumers than in the past. In Adam Tanner s article Health Entrepreneur Debates Going To Data s Dark Side, he discusses the company Safe Heart. Safe Heart is developing medical devices for consumer use. These devices are able to measure values like blood oxygen saturation, heart rate, and perfusion index. Being able to collect these massive amounts of data, places these devices in the realm of big data. Although the topic of big data imposes its own issues, the medical nature of the data creates an additional set of important issues. Safe Heart is not the first organization to develop devices that collect big quantities of data. In recent years, many organizations have begun to capture and use large quantities of medical data. Hospitals, credit agencies and researchers have all started to use medical data to the advantage of either the patient or their own corporation. With all the data being captured, there are legal and ethical issues that become apparent. Main Issues The most prominent issue related to big healthcare technology data is a legal one. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act(HIPAA), protects health data that is transmitted by a certain groups and organizations [1]. It states that consent must be obtained from the patient to distribute any information to a third party. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Media And Gender Stereotypes Sheryl Sandberg, an activist, once said We can each define ambition and progress for ourselves. The goal is to work towards a world where expectations are not set by the stereotypes that hold us back, but by our personal passion, talents, and interests. Media is easily accessible to many and is where millions look for role models. Through the media, high standards are set for women, men, and children all more than likely unattainable. Body types are knit picked along the side of what people wear. TV programs will speak about their political views, opinions, and beliefs and at this age, it s hard to understand what all of it truly means. Most of the time we will just go with what everyone else believes, it s easier and they won t cause any conflict. All of this is forced upon us without asking for it, eventually affecting the outlook on certain things and permanently altering emotions towards serious matters. This is something that I would not wish upon anyone, but it is actually happening to everyone. The media is full of perception altering advertisements and television programs that cause the subconscious to forever be revised to the opinions and beliefs presented. The most commonly discussed problem with media advertisements is the stereotypes that are fed, especially gender stereotypes. Stereotyping is described as a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. Print advertisements, television programs/commercials, ... Morell Florida International University Foot In The Door Effect Versus Door In The Face Effect Foot In The Door The Foot in the Door Effect is essentially where an individual requests a potential participant to engage in a simple task in the hopes that they are more likely to engage in a more difficult task afterwards. The belief behind this effect is that the individual requested to engage in the simpler task or tasks will develop a sense of confidence or willingness after the task has been completed. Essentially, after each smaller task, the participant will more likely be willing to engage in the difficult task. This is what is considered to be a confidence builder and it allows for the individual to feel more confortable in performing the difficult task. The Foot in the door effect is also considered to be a technique relatively consistent based on its initial task. In comparison to the Foot In The Door Effect, the Door In The Face Effect can be defined as the persuaders attempt to convince their participants to initially undertake a difficult task prior to engaging in less difficult tasks in hopes for increasing compliance. As you all know, that fight didn t help Alvarez in the eyes of the public. He beat Lara in a close fight, but that wasn t enough for the boxing community. Instead of being applauded for winning a close fight with someone he could ve easily avoided, the dominant storyline was that Lara was robbed. Yes, there was the ridiculous 117 111 score, but the fight was close enough for Alvarez to get the nod. Nevertheless, the boxing community couldn t come to grips with the fact that a close fight doesn t equal a robbery, so Alvarez didn t get the amount of praise Golovkin got in his recent close fight with Daniel Jacobs. One of the most puzzling questions in anthropology is why marriage and incest taboos are nearly universal institutions in human societies. In order to answers these questions their many theories will be explained and compared. There are many theories for the universal institution of marriage. It solves a few problems between men and women, but these problems cannot be considered the prime motivation for marriage as an institution. Some of these problems include sharing the products of gendered labor, caring for extremely dependent offspring, and minimizing sexual competition. Sex refers to the biological differences inherent in males and females. Gender is a socially and culturally defined construction and may be different between different societies. In many different cultures gender differences do not always align with sexual differences. Many cultures in fact see male and female as opposing ends of a continuum; there may be many intermediate genders between male and female. These social constructions may be very difficult to separate from the biological realities of maleness and femaleness. For example a cross cultural study done by anthropologists recorded that boys within many societies tend to be more aggressive than the females within that same culture. Females in turn tend to be more nurturing in those cultures. Since these differences are universal, are they a product of biological differences? Or do all societies need men and women for different roles and so they socialize their children appropriately? A study on Australian aborigines has shown a high level of female aggression, leading many researchers to speculate that behavioral differences are cultural in origin. • 15. A Great Book Is Not A Work Of Luck Simply created from pieces of paper, ink, and a person s imagination, books have transformed the human s daily routines. All books can be broken down into these three basic ingredients but they are set apart by a few items. These small details separate a phenomenal book from a plain novel. A great book is not a work of luck but rather, of skill. A great book has relatable characters, develops an emotional connection to the reader, and features an unpredictable plotline. Characters are often a figment of the author s imagination. In order for any media to be appealing to the average human, characters must be relatable. There are many types of characters in a novel, such as a main character vs. a supporting character, a protagonist vs. an antagonist, and a dynamic character vs. a static character. In order for a book to be great, these characters must have a background or some detail of their past history that relates to the book s audience. For instance, in the first book of Harry Potter, the first few chapters were devoted to introducing the protagonist and antagonist s backgrounds and their past history in a way that appealed to the preteen age group. With this, the author could build on these characters and have them act certain ways to further the story. Often, when readers get drawn to the story, they have already developed a favourite character and a character they may detest. This makes the book great to them because they feel as if they are a part of the story. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. Theu.s. Constitution And The Constitution The U.S Constitution is one of the most, if not the most, important documents ever written in political history. The constitution established America s national government and provided the fundamental framework for the present and future legal parameters by which the american people would be governed by. The Constitution was officially signed September 17, 1787 in Philadelphia during a constitutional convention. In order for the constitution to actually be an official document, it had to have been ratified meaning that at least nine of the thirteen states present had to approve this document. It was easy for the first seven voters to make their decisions who were pro constitution (federalists), but nevertheless, there were people, anti federalists, who did not support the constitution. Although they did not want the Articles of Confederationin place, neither did they want to ratify the constitution because they opposed of having a strong central government. The ratification of the constitution changed the face of the United Statesand set forth a model for future documents to come. Federalists fought very hard against their opposing party. Why was it so important to the federalist to get this constitution ratified? The constitution not only meant something to the federalists, but without this ratification, it could have led to secession, and this ratification was needed to make improvements to the government. • 25. Adam And Eve Loss Of Knowledge Essay The tale of Adam and Eve, an infamous account in the book of Genesis, depicts man s original disobedience in eating of the Tree of Knowledge and serves as humankind s first archetype of the innate relationship between lost innocence and the attainment of knowledge. As portrayed in the story, God s severe punishment of Adam and Evefor consuming the forbidden fruit insinuates that it is wrong to desire knowledge, more specifically, the knowledge of humanity s potential for good and evil. The resultant loss of innocence from gaining this moral comprehension is all too frequently regarded as sinful, undesirable, and ultimately regrettable. The concept however, of pursuing a greater understanding of the natures of others and oneself is not fundamentally wrong as it expresses a kind of valuable moral growth. As evidenced by further analysis of the story of Adamand Eve, it is apparent that although acquiring knowledge does... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This same departure is further illustrated by the responsibilities that children are assigned once they begin to mature. No longer are they solely accountable for their own person, but their actions must also reflect consideration for the well being of those around them as they now have the ability to reflect upon issues outside of themselves. This erasure of ignorance is of great importance as it now allows for the construction of moral dimension within mankind. • 26. Analysis Of The Book Gulliver s Travels Quite obviously, Lemuel Gulliver is the most focused on character in Jonathan Swift s novel Gulliver s Travels, as he is the most characteristically developed. Gulliver is from a middle class English family and we see all angles of his personality, his morals, and his behavior through the various situations he finds himself in and his observable conduct and the actions he choses to take in those situations. Gulliver learned a lot throughout his many journeys, and this leads him to realize more about humanity. After all of his expeditions to Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa, and Houyhnhnms, Gulliver s experiences cause his view on mankind to change drastically. At first, we only get to see the very fundamentals of Gulliver as a person, though as the novel progresses he builds into a more fleshed out character. In the preliminary chapters of the novel, Gulliver is portrayed as a relatively average and simple man. He tells a brief overview of his financial and educational standing in society; He went to Emanuel College in Cambridge and was an apprentice to Mr. James bates, an eminent surgeon (21). Gulliver also has a Wife and Family (22), who get introduced, but not further developed as characters. Although he s the most focused on character in the story, there doesn t necessarily appear to be any extraordinary thing about him that separates him from other human beings. His actions aren t as daring, courageous, or bold as one may expect from a main character. Swift uses ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. Harvey Milk Thesis Statement Due to the increasingly negative view of homosexuality in the late 1970 s and early 1980 s, the LGBTQ community was facing a world altering decision; they could either shrink into the background, and allow the world to continue to draw its opinions based on speculation, or claim the spotlight and allow themselves to be judged based on their own merit. Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in the United States (Hope Speech, Commentary) saw a need for an uprising of the latter. When addressing a crowd of his supporters and the Lesbian, Gay, Bi Sexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) people in The Hope Speech at San Francisco City Hall on Gay Freedom Day in 1978, Harvey Milk uses the I You/Us Them relationships as defined by Martin Buber, pathos appeals, and shared experiences to establish an emotional bond with the LGBTQ community. This relationship of comradery and mentorship, deeply rooted in shared values, best prepared the crowd to absorb his message of activism and hope. Harvey Milk, though he had known since high school that he was gay (Biography), was initially outwardly ambivalent to legislation passed against the LGBTQ community. This all changed after he befriended a group of gay radicals in his mid forties. • 30. Truman Capote s The Cold Blood Truman Capote s In Cold Blood is a stupendously written book, regularly acclaimed for it s unparalleled style. As needs be, readers mustn t look exceptionally far before they discover a surplus of rhetoric. Capote is regularly credited with having made the first crime novel, and he didn t get this praise by composing such as others. He utilized his fascinating composition style to make his readers feel as if they were really in the book, rather than preserving the barrier between the reader and the page. He permitted them to get inside the character s heads and truly know them, seeing flickers into the character s pasts while, likewise, foretelling events to come. He wrote with a very, for the time, eccentric style, but also one that ended up being incredibly powerful. Capote was genuinely a craftsman with his words. His utilization of imagery throughout makes the reader feel as if they are truly in Kansas, Nevada, Mexico or wherever else Capote put them. This is evident as Capote paints the image, Mountains. A hawk wheeling in a white sky. A dusty road winding into and out of a white and dusty village, (107) which permit the reader to feel like they, themselves, are in Mexico. Moreover, in Corpse Bride, Burton and his crew provide a scene very similar to Disney s 1929 s short film The Skeleton Dance. Part One Because energy is one of the most fundamental states of the universe, it is easily measurable. In physics, calculating the energy of given a system is one of the most basic problems, whether the question applies to an electronics problem, thermodynamics one, or mechanical issue. She even made friends along the way, by playing games like Mother May I with the children of the Congo. Leah did not really conform to the culture. She wanted to hunt with the guys, but she still was a part of their culture. She fought for women s rights in the Congo. Leah ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They had to deal with the rejection from the Congolese people. The Congolese people rejected the religion and the Price family since they were white. • 44. Application Of The Additive Manufacturing INTRODUCTION Additive manufacturing has been developing since 19841. Charles hull invented it. In additive manufacturing 3 dimensional products are built by staking materials layer by layer. It is also known as 3D printing. The scope of technology is sky rocketed with the intervention of the fourth dimension time, which is 4D printing technology. The interesting feature of 4D printing is it can transform from 1D to 3D shape, 1D surface to 3D shape, or can morph from 3D form to another form. In other words, the products can change and adapt to the external stimuli. This is a recent advancement in technology additive manufacturingcombined concepts of shape memory materials and biomimetic composite In a TED conference Sky Tibbits head of MIT self assembly lab, he presented, how 4D printed object will perform self assemblies over time period. He demonstrated this process by using 3D printed multi layer material. The multi layer material was strands of standard plastics which has property of absorbing water. The material will expand and folded into particular design after absorbing water. Recent development and researches in 4D printing Another demonstration of 4D printing conducted on long beach, CA, prefabricated modules placed in rotating chamber. The modules have a magnet at end. The magnet will activate only when the chamber attains particular temperature. At specified temperature, the magnets will attract each other and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Amyloid Synthesis Amyloid beta (AОІ) is a short peptide contains 37 to 43 amino acids and is well known for its hypothesized role in causing pathogenesis of AD, since one of the main hallmarks of AD is the accumulation of fibrillogenic AОІ in the grey matter of the brain (14 15). Meanwhile, over 90% of AD patients have cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) which is characterized by the deposition of AОІ in capillaries, arteries, and arterioles (16 17). CAA causes the degeneration of smooth muscle cells and leads haemorrhages (17). AОІ is generated by proteolytic processing from its precursor, the amyloid precursor protein (APP), which is a type I oriented membrane protein and its splicing variants include APP695, APP714, APP751, APP770 (18 21). The isoforms APP751... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The processing of APP involves three proteases, О± , ОІ , and Оі secretases and two processing pathways, the amyloidogenic pathway and the anti amyloidogenic pathway as shown in Figure 2 (14, 23). The AОІ is generated in amyloidogenic pathway which is mediated by ОІ , and Оі secretases (14). The ОІ secretase first sheds the ectodomain of APP and generates the APP carboxy terminal fragment (ОІCTF) (14). Then the Оі secretase cuts at the transmembrane region of ОІCTF and releases the AОІ into the extracellular fluids like cerebrospinal fluid or plasma (14, 24). In the anti amyloidogenic pathway О± secretase first cuts at the middle region of AОІ so a trauncated APP CTF (О±CTF) is generated and after the transmembrane cut of Оі secretase, a truncated AОІ peptide is released (p3) (Figure 2; 25). The amyloidogenic and anti amyloidogenic competes with each other (26 27). In addition, when the Оі secretase cuts at the transmembrane region of APP, the cut site is not restricted to a single position. The Оі secretase first cuts at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 46. Creon Tragic Hero Analysis Aristotle once spoke that A man doesn t become a hero until he can see the root of his own downfall. A tragic hero can be defined in many different traits and definitions but what makes a perfect tragic hero? It also can have many different meanings and actions towards it. A perfect tragic hero must have a flaw of judgement leading to a tragic flaw also know as a Hamartia. Also a person who is a royal birth and holds a high place in society. Lastly a tragic hero must discover or recognize that the reversal was brought about by their own actions. Creon in Antigone is a perfect example of meeting Aristotle s criteria as a tragic hero. A hero s tragic flaw is usually due to the character s lack of knowledge, lack of judgment, and overwhelming pride. The flaw leads to destructive consequences but that does not define the hero as a bad character. More so Aristotle believes that the tragic hero brings their downfall to evoke the feelings of pity and fear among the audience. Aristotle says that pity is aroused by unmerited misfortune, fear by the misfortune of a man like ourselves. This is why majority a of tragic hero s have those traits, pity and fear, in their plays. Michael Sam s statement is true and sports played a very big role in bringing the help and attention to the campus to try and put a stop to the racism that was going on. Not only should football players not go through this but normal students as well. Students should not have to pay thousands of dollars for an education to get treated any kind of way. The football team makes millions of dollars every year for the university and the players don t get paid. Most of the African American football players have been awarded a scholarship and work hard every day to maintain the scholarship they have earned, so they shouldn t have to face racism and got through some of the things they went through. In my opinion I would not send my child to the university of Missouri because of the conflicts and because people just ignore the conflicts on campus. If I were a parent I would want my child to be in a safe environment and I would want to know that my child is getting what I paid for. In my opinion it shouldn t have taken the University of Missouri football team to bring attention to the problems of the campus. Practical And Practical Theories Theory : a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained . Practical : of or concerned with the actual doing or use of something rather than with theory and ideas . 2.2 According to Bradley (2012), knowledge is extremely important to any career as well as to life. There are various kinds of knowledge and many different ways to attain them. Theory is one type where as practical application is another. Both sort of knowledge are equally important and makes our lives better in every way. People who move forward in life have a tendency to acquire both type of knowledge in multiples ways. He suggested that we can also come up to their level if we should take steps toward teaching things that students will use in real life and make less use of theory. Universities should teach students more practical skills that they will use in their future. Concentrating on practical studies only doesn t mean that we ignore theory we need it too. There is a need of theory also to understand the basics. Everyone needs to have an understanding of the basics theory before implementing it in practice, but the problem arise when the universities pay attention on theory only and ignore the practical ...
