Mercy - Jesus taught his disciples how they are to live as Christians. He said that if they wanted to follow him they are to exercise mercy rather than revenge. They were to exercise grace, humility, mercy, forgiveness and generosity.
We know the dictionary definition of worship (a feeling, or devotion to a deity), and we have read John 4:24, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth"; but, what does the Bible teach us about the subject of worship? This is a series of lessons that gets to the heart of worship and what it really means for Christians.

5 Paradigms And Kingdom Business For Alict August 2009Dion Forster
As society changes it is necessary to change the way in which we do ministry. The Church dominated model, where ministry is done almost exclusively in and through congregations, needs to be strengthened and further developed by empowering Christians to do ministry in their places of work and study! We spend most of our waking hours at work, or at school, or in our community and home. Furthermore, if we are honest, the majority of Churches do not equip and facilitate ministry beyond the interests of their congregational needs.
This presentation was prepared for a group of international students on the African Leadership in Community Transformation school in Cape Town. I prepared it based on my experience as a minister in the marketplace. I serve as a chaplain to a large construction company (the Power Group http://www.powergrp.co.za). I hold a doctorate in theology and science and am an ordained minister in the Methodist Church of Southern Africa - so, this presentation draws together:
- Theology
- Biblical and scriptural injunctions on ministry
- An understanding of economics and justice
- Neuroscience (showing how and why we do certain things)
- Research on the Church and the Christian faith

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

that a woman took and mixed into about sixty
pounds of flour until it worked all through the
dough.”
Luke 13:20 Again he asked, “What shall I
compare the kingdom of God to? 21 It is like
yeast that a woman took and mixed into about
sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the
dough.”
THE PARABLE OF THE
LEAVEN
5. INTRODUCTION
Leaven is like yeast. It is a noun
and a verb - It is and it does.
It’s characteristic impacts and
acts everything around.
The Kingdom of God silently is,
and acts.
6. THE PARABLE OF THE
LEAVEN
A little for a lot. It is:
• Smoothly distributed
• Silently effective
• Supremely impactful
7. A LITTLE FOR A LOT
Matthew 13:33 He told them still another parable: “The
kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed
into about sixty pounds of flour ..
The kingdom of heaven appears little and inconsequential
but, like yeast has a powerful impact nevertheless. Never
underestimate the power within us to change the world
around.
8. INFLUENCES
Jesus uses leaven as both a positive and
negative influence. As a negative influence,
ironically it was the religious leaders brining
on the corrupting influence Luke 12:1 beware
of the leaven of the Pharisees.
As a positive influence, the kingdom people
work together to change the world – the
dough.
9. SMOOTHLY
DISTRIBUTED
“a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour”
The mixing process is essential for best effect.
The more the spread the greater the influence
They need to spread out, not clump together for better
influence.
10. SMOOTHLY
DISTRIBUTED
We, as Christians are to mix with the world around being “not
of but in the world”
Influencing without getting influenced
Leaven has a negative connotation as well.. There are bad
influences at work as well polluting the positive effect.
We need to counter those and over come them.
11. SILENTLY EFFECTIVE
“until it worked all through the dough.”
We are influencial for Christ.
Just demonstrating the character of Christ is enough to bear
influence.
In addition talking, sharing, as Christ did adds to that
influence.
Everyday… we live that influence with everyone we meet.
12. SUPREMELY
IMPACTFUL
“all through the dough“
It transforms the entire dough irreversibly. This
transformation takes time and the right environment..
It is happening
It will eventually happen.
The world will be irreversibly changed for the best.
13. DISCUSSION
Share some examples of how we can be:
1. A little for a lot
2. Silently effective
3. Smoothly distributed
4. Supremely impactful.

62. The parable of the leaven13.33; Luke 13.20-21 P
30 Again he said, “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? 31 It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. 32 Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” Mark 4
18 Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? 19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds perched in its branches.” Luke 13

Effervescently transformational – irreversible Enduring impact
