This document summarizes common upper limb conditions seen by the author, a consultant orthopaedic and upper limb surgeon. It outlines the author's qualifications and scope of practice, which includes shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand surgery. Common conditions are then described for each area, including shoulder issues like rotator cuff problems, instability, stiffness and referred pain. Elbow conditions discussed include tendinopathy, arthritis and ulnar nerve compression. Wrist and hand conditions covered include carpal tunnel syndrome, thumb arthritis, ganglion cysts and Dupuytren's contracture.
