Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Acetabularia Information For Class 9 .docxvaibhavrinwa19
Acetabularia acetabulum is a single-celled green alga that in its vegetative state is morphologically differentiated into a basal rhizoid and an axially elongated stalk, which bears whorls of branching hairs. The single diploid nucleus resides in the rhizoid.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

In order to function efficiently and effectively every organization has a functional
department. it’s important to divide departments so that the work is divided into units and
departments. This division of the work is helping in bringing specialization in various
activities of concern and helps in putting right men on right job which can be done by
selecting people for various departments according to their qualifications, skills and
experience. This is helping in defining the jobs properly which clarifies the role of every
person.
Ramesh hospital has the following departments :-
Finance department
Hr department
Marketing department
It department
Medical records department
CSS department
22. FINANCE DEPARTMENT :-

HUMAN RESOURCE :-
A human resources department is a critical component of employee well-being in any
business, no matter how small. HR responsibilities include payroll, benefits, hiring, firing, and

23. CSSD (central sterile supply department) :-
The central sterile supply department (CSSD), also called sterile processing department
(SPD), sterile processing, central service department (CSD), or central supply it is an heart of
the hospital. It is an integrated place in hospitals and other health care facilities that performs
sterilization and other actions on medical devices, equipment and consumables, for
subsequent use by health workers in the operating theatre of the hospital and also for other
aseptic procedures, e.g. catheterization, wound stitching and bandaging.
Sterilization is the process of destroying all living organisms on an item and is the main task
of most Central Service departments. Items to be sterilized must first be cleaned in a separate
decontamination room and inspected for effectiveness, cleanliness and damage. There are
multiple methods of sterilization, and which one is used is dependant on many factors
including: operational cost, potential hazards to workers, efficacy, time, and composition of
the materials being sterilized. In the US, one of the cheapest and easiest methods is steam
sterilization, where instrumentation trays and packages are placed in a chamber which is them
filled with steam (usually 250-270 °F), killing all microorganisms. Sterilization can also be
achieved using Ethylene Oxide(ETO) gas.
Sterile processing departments are typically divided into four major areas to accomplish the
functions of decontamination, assembly and sterile processing, sterile storage, and
distribution.
Decontamination
Decontaminating used surgical instruments and other medical devices
Operating and maintaining special decontamination equipment like automatic washers
24. Inspecting decontaminated items to make sure they are clean
Assembly
Organizing clean items and packaging them into appropriate instrument trays and sets
Sterilization and storage
Sterilizing assembled trays of instruments
Precisely operating and monitoring special sterilization equipment like autoclaves
Keeping detailed records of items that have been cleaned, sterilized, and stored
Distribution
Stocking crash carts
Organizing sterilized medical supplies
Ensuring that sterile supplies don’t become outdated / preventing event related sterility
issues
Delivering sterile supplies where they are needed and picking up dirty ones

Digital X-Rays
29. With our digital x-rays we gain time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and
the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images. Also, less radiation can be used to produce
an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography
3D/4D ultrasound.
Like regular ultrasounds, 3D and 4D ultrasounds use sound waves to create an image of your
baby in your womb. What’s different is that 3D ultrasounds create a three-dimensional image
of your baby, while 4D ultrasounds create a live video effect, like a movie — you can watch
your baby smile or yawn.
Fluoroscopy
30. Fluoroscopy is a study of moving body structures–similar to an X-ray “movie.” A
continuous X-ray beam is passed through the body part being examined. The beam is
transmitted to a TV-like monitor so that the body part and its motion can be seen in detail.
Fluoroscopy, as an imaging tool, enables physicians to look at many body systems, including
the skeletal, digestive, urinary, respiratory, and reproductive systems.
64-slice CT Scanner
A CT scan – or computed tomography scan – uses X-rays to produce images of a patient’s
body. But unlike a traditional two-dimensional X-ray, CT scans create incredibly detailed
cross-sectional images by rotating around the body inside the gantry, which is the machine’s
large doughnut-shaped opening. A CT scanner is also unique because it can display a
combination of soft tissue, bones and blood vessels in a single image.
4 slice CT
For routine examinations of the brain etc we sometimes use this equipment also as a back
31. Two Open-bore MRI machines
The MRI machine with “larger bore” has a larger opening than traditional MRI machines,
making it easier for patients who are claustrophobic to have MRI scans, without sedation. In
contrast to a “completely open” MRI machine it still has a tunnel the patient must pass
through, but the opening (or “bore”) is wider and much shorter. The patient having their spine
or pelvis examined will rest with their head and lower extremities outside the magnet.

44. CHAPTER TWO: INTERNSHIP ACTIVITIES
These are some activities which I performed during my internship.
I had a memorable experience from joining the internship program at Ramesh hospitals ,
Guntur. In addition to daily work I had great opportunity to meet different people working
over there. Be sides, I made a lot of friends during the course of internship.
I was involved in doing a survey on quality improvement project (QIP) by follow up the
discharge process and collecting patient feedbacks from different departments. It involved
follow up the patient discharge process whether everything was in order or not and entering
the patient details into excel sheet and tracking out the average waiting time of discharging
patients.
In these 3 months, I have established a good relationship with the employees in the
organization through the program, I broadened my views and improved ,my communication
skills. Besides, I found that having flexible mind and attitude which is very important in the
business world. It was much different from the study as part of my study I visited different
departments in the organization to make a detailed study. Finally, I would like to give sincere
thanks to my company guide miss kp. Zareena& every one in the organization who extended
their support in training me to complete this program. I believe that such experience and stills
are valuable to my future carrier.
In my internship I was worked as a floor coordinator in 3rd floor. My work nature is to follow
up discharge process by reducing the patient waiting time .at the same time I was observed the
45. nursing care & collected the feedbacks from the patients in Daycare, ccu, stroke unit & step
down. In these 3 months of my internship nearly I collected 500 feedbacks from the patients.
In total 500 patients 90% of patients gave positive feedback about their satisfaction on the
hospital services. Remaining 10% of patients gave average satisfaction on hospital services.
TAT:-
By the filling the discharge forms. We calculated the average waiting time of a discharge

hospital. Provision of health care facilities for the underprivileged, therefore, is close to our
heart. We empathize with the requirement of quality medical care and serve the community to
the best of their abilities. I am getting so much of knowledge about the medical camps.

47. Summary
This is an internship report on Hospital & medical center. During internship my primary focus
was to study the overall performance, functions and business operations of the organization.
It provides good treatment to diseases caused to human body with new technologies and
equipment. I have found that Ramesh Hospital’s management primary focus should be on
resolving the employee’s issues and building trust between them and employees. I am sure
that Ramesh Hospital is going to attain more profits in the coming year.
In this hospital internship report I have presented history, services of the organization. In
addition to the organizational policies I have also mentioned my internship experience and
findings about the organization. SWOT analysis is being done and suggestions and
recommendations are being given.
Suggestions for organization
Assigned supervisor should make a proper schedule for internees regarding their movement
in different departments.
Managers should keep an eye on works of employees on daily basis.
Ramesh Hospital should lower their prices for the services so that its perception may be
improved in general public.
Feedback and proper guidelines should be given to employees by their managers to
encourage them.
Allow the patient attender to the patient side except icu it causes more patient satisfaction.
Reduce the nursing paper work it leads to more concentration on patient
48. CONCLUSION
I found Ramesh Hospital is a good place for new internees in operations side, I strongly
recommend my juniors because in Ramesh Hospital you’ll have an environment where you
can get many opportunities to learn. They don’t treat internee as burden.
Ramesh Hospital is a big organization, have a wide area of learning, try to remain busy all
the time because if you do work, you’ll get two edges: first you will learn a lot, second there
will be more chances for you to be permanent.
Internship is a golden opportunity for students to learn a lot because there is a hell of
difference between theory and practice.
