  • #2 Hlo iam Girjesh kumari I st year PGDM student of Jaipuria institute of management indore As you are seening in my slide I will discuss upon Google company
  • #3 This slide is showing table of content
  • #4 Google LLC is an American multinational technology company that specializes in Internet-related services and products, which include online advertising technologies, a search engine, cloud computing, software, and hardware. It is considered one of the Big Five technology companies in the U.S. information technology industry, alongside Amazon, Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft.[ Google was founded in September 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University in California. Together they own about 14 percent of its shares and control 56 percent of the stockholder voting power through super voting stock. They incorporated Google as a California privately held company on September 4, 1998. Google was then reincorporated in Delaware on October 22, 2002
  • #5 Google was founded in September 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University in California. Together they own about 14 percent of its shares and control 56 percent of the stockholder voting power through super voting stock. They incorporated Google as a California privately held company on September 4, 1998. Google was then reincorporated in Delaware on October 22, 2002 Google played a crucial role in shaping the modern internet and still is playing its role.  Today, the way we live our lives, the way we search or look for things is mostly because of Google. It directly or indirectly impacts millions of people and it continues to impact many more lives. There’s no doubt it’s the ‘Modern Day Oxygen’.  It began in the year 1996, when two of the brightest mind at Stanford University in California, Larry Page and Sergey Brin developed a search algorithm at first known as ‘BackRub’ with the help of two friends Scott Hassan and Alan Steremberg. The word Google has no full form but is generated from the word ‘googol’ which means a huge number. The word Google was misspelled and later decided to use it as the company’s name. Google.com was registered in the year 1997 and later incorporated in 1998. The company initially started in the garage of a friend named Susan Wojcicki in Menlo Park, California
  • #6 1998 – The Year of Initial Funding Craig Silverstein was the first employee hired by Google. At present, there are over 114,096 employees working at Google. By the end of the year, Google had an index of about 60 million pages. 2. 1999 – Moved Towards the Home of Start-ups (Silicon Valley) The year 1999 holds a special place in the hearts of Page and Brin, in March, the company shifted to Palo Alto, California. Another major change came in the month of September when Google officially removed the beta from the title. 3. 2000 – Adding New Languages Google added ten new languages: French, German, Italian, Swedish, Finnish, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Norwegian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Danish. 4) 2001 – Google welcomed its first Chairman – Eric Schmidt 2001 was the year when Eric Schmidt joined Google as its first chairman and later became its chief executive officer. Moreover, Larry Page became president of products and Sergey Brin became president of technology 2002 – Introduction of AdWords With the introduction of AdWords, Google struck gold. It uses partly cookies and partly keywords characteristics to place advertising copy on pages depending on the relevance. In September 2002, Google launched ‘Google News’ Krishna Bharat was the one who developed the idea of Google news. Currently, it is available in more than 35 languages across the globe. 6. 2003 – The year of AdSense In March 2003, Google launched its AdSense program. It was originally named as Content Targeting Advertising
  • #7 2005 – The Year of Diversification Android: Google acquired Android Inc. Android was founded by Andy Rubin, Chris White, Nick Sears, and Rich Miner. Key employees of Android, White, Miner and Rubin, also joined Google. Google Mobile Web: With the rise in mobile users, Google decided to release its mobile web search for mobile users delivering the exact same results as on desktop. Google Maps: It all started with when two Danish brothers Lars and Jens Eilstrup Rasmussen came up with an idea for a web app that will display static maps along with a searchable, scrollable and zoomable map.   9. 2006 – The Year of Fast Growth In early 2005 YouTube changed the game with what was by far the most accessible and comprehensive video website on the internet. Coincidentally, Google released its competitor, Google Video, around the same time. Both were popular, but YouTube’s quickly growing platform was far too much for Google to overcome directly, so it outright bought the website for $1.65 billion in 2006. 2007 – Acquires DoubleClick   11. 2008 – Google Launches the Chrome Browser Launched in 2008, Google released firstly for Microsoft Windows and later ported to Linux, macOS, iOS, and Android. It later launched 43 supported languages.   2020: The year of Change Google Logo: This year has been full of unexpected events and to begin with Google has updated its iconic logo. Google Maps: Also, Google has updated its map both in IOS and Android. The new update includes new tabs—Explore, commute, saved, contribute, and updates. Hum-to-search: One of the interesting features which Google recently added was its hum-to-search feature for both Android and IOS. You can just hum, sing, or whist the tune to get your favorite song. Google Chrome: In the latest Chrome update, the user can easily search the desired tabs. This will further make Google Chrome more users friendly. COVID-19 Update: One of the major updates we have recently seen was with COVID-19 maps. Google’s initiative to track down coronavirus hotspot helped the government to easily track the COVID-19 areas
