  1. Google Plus is a powerful social media platform where you can create a business page. Creating your business profile page will help improve the visibility of your business in Google searches. It will also increase social presence and value for your brand. When creating your account, make sure your tagline is catchy, since people will see your tagline when they hover over your name. Include a biography and all relevant links. Also, Google can display authorship information in searches so make sure your Google plus profile is linked to your website, blogs, and profiles. Plus, your business and photo will appear on Google Maps and have a special author card in search results, increasing the business’s visibility. Google Plus essentially connects your content across the web to your Google+ Account and indexes it in Google Search.
  2. Google plus fully integrates with Gmail, YouTube, and Picasa. Regular use of Google plus helps with your Google ranking for your website and pages. It allows you to categorize your friends easily with the circles system. It is an open platform with less restrictions than other social media platforms. It is also the 2nd largest platform with 540 million members.
  3. Circles are groups you can create to add people and pages. You can create as many circles as you want, merge circles together, or delete them. People can be added to one, a few, or even all of your circles. Once people are in your circles, you can easily interact and tag them. Communities are like groups and can help you find a target audience and connect you with new people, so search for communities to join.
  4. Google+ Local has a scoring system that provides detailed insight into businesses. After your local listing is correctly setup, you should keep an eye on your review score and any comments left on your page to see what customers are saying. It may help you to make important decisions or work on a weak area if customers are unhappy.
  5. Because YouTube is powered by Google, you can verify your local business page and link it to your YouTube account for simple cross-promotion. Adding your contact information makes it easy for people to find you while boosting your business page authenticity. While creating or editing your company information, remember to be consistent, since Google will consider 190 Bergen Avenue and 190 Bergen Ave, two separate companies. When sharing on Google+ you can choose which circle to share with, or you can make it public. We recommend making business posts public, and include relevant hashtags in your status, posts, or blogs for easy searches, and don’t forget to include title tags with keywords. People can publically recommend or “like” you, by giving you a plus one. And remember, if you “like” something, you can also give it a +1.
  6. Google+ allows you to organize and locate your photos, videos, and things you’ve liked. To leverage your Google plus account, you can add a share button and a +1 button to your website. You should regularly post quality content that includes a picture to keep posts visual. Grow your network and exposure by searching for people and businesses to add to your circles. If you are interested in analytics, under a post details dropdown, you can click on View Ripples to see how many times a post has been shared and who looked at it to help you with your strategy.
