Best product management practice in government organisations will look startlingly familiar to anyone who's worked in a user-centric company. But what does it look like when the usual commercial drivers such as revenue, profits and investors are taken out of the picture?
In government, product is borne out of transparency, quite a lot of cake and a fanatical desire to serve the needs of users.
In this talk for ProdPad's webinar series, I discuss the acute challenges of culture clash. You'll also discover what can be achieved by highly motivated, principled and capable people when they set an example for the rest of an organisation - or the entire Civil Service - to follow.

How can Architecture be Agile?
Surely Architecture is about designing the big picture, and Agile is about incrementally building things as you go along? How can these two things be reconciled?
And what has Architecture got to do with DevOps? The answer: Everything.
No TOGAF here!
In this talk I'll describe how Architecture can be done locally, and at scale, in a way that's lightweight, responsive, evolving, and continuous.
And crucially, we'll see why Architecture is about Operations. A software component typically takes only weeks or months to build, but often runs for several years. We need a new kind of Architecture that lives and breathes operational concerns - building simple, modular things that are easily evolvable and easily disposable.
Finally, I hope to dispel the myth once and for all that there's any conflict between Architecture and Agile, with practical advice and examples of how and why it works.

Product experts understand that all products go through a life cycle. Many of the most innovative companies have adopted a product life cycle management process to increase the likelihood of success for new products in the marketplace. This session discusses the benefits of implementing the seven-phase product life cycle, which is the basis for the Association of International Product Management & Marketing (AIPMM) Body of Knowledge (ProdBOK®).
Product vendors which understand and implement this process have a higher likelihood of building great products that delight customers and are more profitable. A company risks product failure if it leaves out any of these because it doesn’t consider critical issues. Join this session to understand key activities and deliverables performed by cross-functional teams that must be considered within each phase of the product life cycle.
Join Hector Del Castillo as he shares his insights on why adopting the seven-phase product life cycle can reduce the time to market for new products, increase organizational efficiency and create new revenue streams for your company using a sustainable approach.

Technology is changing at an incredible pace, which makes it challenging to stay on top of the latest trends. New technology is constantly changing the way we interact with the world, and consequently, how businesses should effectively market to their audience. Also, probably not helped by our own ineptitude, in the keeping up to date stakes.Let’s face it, digital marketers are up there with social workers, traffic wardens and lawyers in the popularity game these days. Remember geek chic? Wasn’t that grand? The big question is, can we recover our “cool career” reputation or are we so thoroughly fenced in by “techies to the left of me, jokers to the right” and the long arm of the law on our backs. This talk will explore three key themes that are/or will change our world and what marketers need to know about them, if we are once again – to make friends and not alienate people.

Public Speaking Tips to Help You Be A Strong Leader.pdfPinta Partners
In the realm of effective leadership, a multitude of skills come into play, but one stands out as both crucial and challenging: public speaking.

For leaders, refining public speaking skills is essential, elevating their ability to influence, persuade, and lead with resolute conviction. The case study discusses the potential of drone delivery and the challenges that need to be addressed before it becomes widespread.
Key takeaways:
Drone delivery is in its early stages: Amazon's trial in the UK demonstrates the potential for faster deliveries, but it's still limited by regulations and technology.
Regulations are a major hurdle: Safety concerns around drone collisions with airplanes and people have led to restrictions on flight height and location.
Other challenges exist: Who will use drone delivery the most? Is it cost-effective compared to traditional delivery trucks?
Discussion questions:
Managerial challenges: Integrating drones requires planning for new infrastructure, training staff, and navigating regulations. There are also marketing and recruitment considerations specific to this technology.
External forces vary by country: Regulations, consumer acceptance, and infrastructure all differ between countries.
Demographics matter: Younger generations might be more receptive to drone delivery, while older populations might have concerns.
Stakeholders for Amazon: Customers, regulators, aviation authorities, and competitors are all stakeholders. Regulators likely hold the greatest influence as they determine the feasibility of drone delivery.
Artificial intelligence (AI) offers new opportunities to radically reinvent the way we do business. This study explores how CEOs and top decision makers around the world are responding to the transformative potential of AI.
