Lipstick has been used for over 5,000 years, originally created by ancient Sumerians and Egyptians who crushed gemstones and bugs to create red and orange dyes for lips. It provides color, texture, and protection to lips. Modern lipstick comes in many forms from solid sticks to creams to liquids, and contains pigments, oils, waxes, and other ingredients that both beautify lips and may have potential health risks due to chemicals like lead, parabens, and retinyl palmitate. While lipstick hydrates and protects lips from UV rays, long-term ingestion is a concern as it can increase exposure to toxins.
This document discusses the formulation and manufacturing process of lipsticks. It begins by introducing lipsticks and their ideal properties. The main raw materials used are waxes, oils, pigments, alcohol, and preservatives. The manufacturing process involves color grinding, melting and mixing the ingredients, molding the mixture into tubes, and packaging. Common defects associated with formulation or molding are also outlined. A sample lipstick formulation is provided along with evaluation methods and references.

People originally used soap for shaving, but then realized mixing oils, fatty acids, and perfumes created a more enjoyable shave. Shaving cream was developed, with water as the main ingredient and three important acids - stearic, coconut, and myristic acids. These acids control surface tension, pH, and help create foam. Other ingredients like triethanolamine, sodium/potassium hydroxides, and glycerin are added to make the solution soluble and help the cream retain moisture and stability. To make shaving foam, essential oils and acids are heated and mixed, then cooled before adding water, glycerin, and perfumes.

This video discusses the benefits of making homemade natural soap over commercial soaps. It explains that natural soaps are made from olive oil, coconut oil, rice bran oil and lye which produce a mild, nourishing soap. They provide antioxidants, exfoliation without clogging pores, and hydrate the skin. Commercial soaps can strip the skin's oils and contain harsh chemicals, whereas natural soaps moisturize with glycerin and contain beneficial vegetable oils and botanicals. By producing less wasteful lather, natural soaps do not pollute waterways like commercial soap chemicals which treatment plants cannot fully remove.
Everyone is aware of the fact that skin is the largest organ of our body. Thus it needs to be taken good care of! Many of us do not pay as much attention as it needs in our day to day schedule.

causing the hair to swell, raising the cuticle, which in turn disrupts the curl pattern. Also, in extreme
dry weather conditions, it said to seek out moisture from hair causing it to dehydrate. This would
lead to damage and breaking of hair. Therefore, make sure to use it considering the weather
conditions, like in moderate humidity.
