The International Consumer Electronics
Show (CES) is a major technology-
related trade show held each January in
the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas,
Nevada, United States. Not open to the public,
the Consumer Electronics Association-
sponsored show typically hosts previews of
products and new product announcements.

3. HTC Titan II
The first Windows Phone with 4G LTE, it
has a whopping 16-megapixel camera. As
the name implies, it has a large screen
with the 4.7-inch Super LCD display. It’s a
nice screen that holds up well in sunlight
and is quite responsive. Inside, you’re
looking at a 1.5 GHz SnapDragon S2
processor, 16 GB of storage and the usual
radios you’d expect. This one also has
AT&T’s 4G LTE support and it’s the first
Windows Phone which can utilize this
blazing-fast mobile data network.
The device runs Windows Phone
Mango and you know we’re big fans of
the crisp and clean operating system. It
runs extremely well on the Titan II.
With its specs and 4G LTE support, the
HTC Titan II would be quite a formidable
device but HTC upped the ante by adding
a 16-megapixel camera.

4. Nokia Lumia 900
If the pictures you’ve seen make you
think it looks like the Lumia 800, you’d be
right. This one has a larger 4.3-inch Clear
Black display and our brief time with it
found the screen to be bright and
responsive – it also helps that Windows
Phone Mango is a very visually-appealing
operating system.
There’s a 1.4 single-core, Snapdragon
processor powering the Lumia 900 and it
will be one of the first Windows Phone
devices (along with the HTC Titan II) to
support AT&T’s 4G LTE. It sports an 8-
megapixel camera with Carl Zeis optics, a
front-facing camera for video calls, GPS,
Bluetooth and other goodies but it
doesn’t have NFC. It will come with a few
specific apps like Nokia Drive for free,
turn-by-turn navigation without needing
a persistent wireless connection.

5. Samsung Exhilarate
Samsung Exhilarate is built with the environment in mind.
Constructed from 80 percent recycled post-consumer
materials, the device successfully meets a number of
sustainability standards. That is why it has been given a
Platinum certification by UL Environment – a group of folks
that determine how “green” a certain product is. At the same
time, the Samsung Exhilarate should deliver a decent Android
experience, and while we are not expecting to see any
spectacular hardware under its hood, its front is occupied by
a 4-inch Super AMOLED display. Both a front-facing and a rear
camera are on board, along with an LTE radio for speedy
access to the internet.

6. Samsung Galaxy Nexus
AT&T will offer the Galaxy Nexus, too. But why call it Galaxy Nexus
when you can have your own name – Galaxy S II Skyrocket HD,
which [name] sounds much easier to remember. Say what? Don’t
be fooled by the name change, this bad boy is Galaxy Nexus to the
bone with the addition of LTE radio (just like Verizon’s version) and
Samsung’s TouchWIZ UI running on top of Android Gingerbread
(rather than Ice Cream Sandwich).
In other words, it rocks a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 4.65-inch
720p Super AMOLED HD screen and all other goodies you would
expect from a high-end device.

7. Samsung Note
The Galaxy Note has been around for a while but we
were able to play around with the 4G LTE version bound
for AT&T at CES 2012. The massive 5.3-inch
smartphone/tablet hybrid is definitely a unique device
that could resonate with some of you out there. What’s
insane to me isn’t that it has a 5.3-inch screen but
Samsung was somehow able to make it have a resolution
of 1280 x 800. Samsung was also able to make the Galaxy
Note pretty thin. You’ll find a dual-core 1.5GHz processor,
LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS, 16GB of built-in storage, 8-
megapixel camera on the back and a 2-megapixel front-
facing camera. What really sets the Galaxy Note apart
(besides its size) is the fact that it comes with a stylus S
Pen.

8. SONY Xperia Ion
The Xperia Ion hits all the major check boxes for a high-end
smartphone. You want a 4.6-inch, 720p HD screen? It has that. A
12-megapixel camera with a super-fast shutter lag? Check. It also
has the capability to utilize AT&T’s blazing-fast 4G LTE network
and this really changes the way you think about your mobile
data.
Inside, the Xperia Ion sports a 1.5 GHz SnapDragon processor
and all the other radios you’d expect including GPS and
Bluetooth. There’s a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera that can
record at 720p HD and the rear camera gives you all the 1080p
goodness you’d want. There’s DLNA and the handset integrates
with Sony televisions in exciting ways.

9. Samsung Galaxy Attain & LG Connect 4G
Metro PCS was the first U.S. carrier to officially
announce new devices at the CES (which BTW
opens for public tomorrow). They prepared two
LTE smartphones for the big event – The
Samsung Galaxy Attain 4G and LG Connect 4G.
First let’s talk about Sammy’s baby. It’s a mid-
range device with a 3.5-inch screen, 1GHz
processor, 3-megapixel camera with LED flash on
the back and 1.3-megapixel front-facing one
[camera].
Then there’s the much powerful LG Connect
4G that rocks a dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, 4-inch
NOVA WVGA display, 5-megapixel rear camera
with flash, and a front-facing camera.

10. Samsung Galaxy S Blaze
The Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G will rock a Super AMOLED display of an unknown size (likely 4-
4.5 inches), HSPA+ 42 support, and a 1.5Ghz dual-core Snapdragon S3 processor. That’s about
all we know about the handset as of now but more details will be revealed very soon.

11. LG VIPER
Sprint announced its latest Android
smartphone, the LG Viper, to join its
family handsets. The Viper will be one of
the first to use The Now
Network’s forthcoming Long Term
Evolution (LTE) network.
The device also sports Android 2.3
Gingerbread, a 4.0-inch WVGA
touchscreen, 1.2GHz dual-core processor,
a primary 5.0-megapixel camera and front-
facing VGA camera, and Near Field
Communication (NFC) that’ll run with
Google Wallet. All specs found on
the Viper resemble those on MetroPCS’s
LG Connect 4G.

12. LG Spectrum
The LG Spectrum will feature a 1.5GHz
dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4G
LTE connectivity, a 4.5″ 720 x 1280
display (Real Stripe pixel
arrangement), Android Gingerbread,
8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-
megapixel front facing camera, 4GB of
internal storage, 16GB microSD card
pre-installed, mobile hotspot for up to
10 devices, 1,830mAh battery, and
Bluetooth 3.0. There is no mention of
its rumored global capabilities though.
The phone will also come preloaded
with HD ESPN Score center content,
Netflix HD, HD video editing tools and
Swype.

13. Motorola Razr Maxx
The Razr MAXX is only 8.99 mm
thick, has 32 GB of storage, 21
hours of battery life. It’s one of
Verizon’s longest lasting LTE
devices. The Razr MAXX will
ship with Android 2.3.5
Gingerbread, and will be one of
a few Motorola handsets to get
the Android 4.0 Ice Cream
Sandwich update.

14. Motorola Droid 4
The Motorola Droid 4 is the first
one to have 4G LTE support.
There’s a 4-inch qHD display, 1.2
Ghz processor, 8-megapixel
camera, front-facing camera and,
of course, the full, slide-out
QWERTY keyboard. The latest
Droid has backlit keys and it’s
“laser-etched” for a nice,
comfortable typing experience.
It’s not a thin phone but it’s
thinner than its nearest
competitor, the Samsung
Stratosphere.

15. Huawei Ascend P1 S
The Huawei Ascend P1 S, takes things to a
whole other level. It comes in at just 6.68
mm thick and has a ridiculous spec sheet.
We’re talking 4.3 inch Super AMOLED
display with Gorilla Glass that pushes 960 x
540 pixels, 1.5 GHz dual core TI OMAP
4460, 1 GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel
backside illuminated camera that can
capture 1080p video, a front facing camera
that can take 720p video, quadband
GSM/EDGE support, pentaband 3G
support, and there’s even HDMI out.
Now just take a moment and realize that the device you’re looking at above is a Huawei. Those lines, that attention to detail, are things
we never really expected from them, ever, and we’re starting to think that the company wants to be taken seriously from now on.
Remember HTC and their rise from a tiny Taiwanese company that made Windows Mobile devices for operators to one of the leading
suppliers of Android smartphones and the creators of the extremely polarizing Sense UI? We see Huawei following in HTC’s path and
we wouldn’t be surprised to see Huawei start coming out with some world class hardware by this time next year.

16. Galaxy Tab7.7
The Galaxy Tab 7.7 for Verizon will be
able to utilize the 4G LTE network but
what really stood out to me was the
industrial design. This tablet is
incredibly thin, feels extremely
comfortable to hold with one or two
hands and will have enough power with
its dual-core processor to handle your
tablet needs. There are also multiple
cameras for video-chatting and
snapping candid shots.

17. ZTE Jetpack
The ZTE Jetpack
4G hotspot will
let you create a
WiFi cloud
which you can
connect up to
10 devices to.
There’s also an
OLED display to
give you a better
idea of how
you’re
connected.
