Glenbrook Road Sanitary Sewer
Project Overview:
• Obtained temporary and permanent construction easements from adjacent residents for bore pits and pipe
placement
• Jack and bore 314 LF of 36-inch cast iron casing pipe under existing trees and a stream bed
• Installation of 314 LF of new 8-inch DIP with spacers inside the new casing pipe
• Open cut remaining 556 LF of DIP in Glenbrook Road
• Installation of five precast concrete manholes, as well as seven stub out service connections
• New cast in place concrete ditches and storm drains per VDOT requirements
• Extensive restoration within and outside easements with sod and seed
• Re-pavement of Glenbrook Road per VDOT requirements

Description:
The Glenbrook Road Sanitary Sewer Extension and Improvement Project, located in the Glenbrook Road cul-
de-sac north of Southwick Road in Fairfax. This sanitary sewer extension and improvement project consisted
of the construction of 870 LF of 8-inch diameter ductile iron pipe (DIP) serving seven residents in the
Providence District of Fairfax County. This project was substantially completed on time and within budget on
November 3, 2016.
