Glass fiber reinforced gypsum (GFRG) wall panels, also called Rapidwall, are a pre-fabricated, green building material made of phosphogypsum core with a glass fiber reinforcement. They are manufactured in India at a factory in Kochi, Kerala. GFRG panels have high compressive and flexural strength, provide earthquake resistance up to magnitude 8, and have 4 hours of fire resistance at 700-1000°C. They offer savings in construction materials, time, labor, and cost compared to conventional building methods. However, GFRG panels cannot be used for circular walls and have clear span limitations for residential buildings.
