The apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, so they sent Peter and John to pray for the Samaritans to receive the Holy Spirit. When Peter and John laid their hands on the Samaritans, they received the Holy Spirit. However, Simon saw this and offered money to receive this power, but Peter rebuked him for thinking he could buy a gift from God. Peter told Simon to repent and pray so his intent may be forgiven. Simon then asked Peter to pray for him that nothing bad would happen.
We are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works. We are blessed for doing God's work. We are to speak and do. Faith without works is dead. Faith is shown by our works.
This document provides the scripture readings and summaries for the Third Sunday after Trinity. It includes passages from Micah, 1 Timothy, 1 Peter, and Luke that discuss how Jesus receives sinners. God spoke to Moses and delivered the Ten Commandments. The first commandment establishes that the Israelites must have no other gods before God, who freed them from slavery in Egypt. This commandment is followed by prohibitions against idolatry and taking God's name in vain, as well as requirements to observe the Sabbath and honor one's parents. The commandments lay out moral laws against murder, adultery, theft, false witness, and coveting.
Pacific Church identifies itself using five key terms: beloved, broken, belonging, building, and bridging. The document provides several biblical passages about God's love and mercy for humanity, including stories of the Pharisee and tax collector as well as the prodigal son. God demonstrates his love for humanity through sending Jesus Christ to die for sins. Pacific Church strives to imitate God and Christ by showing compassion, kindness, humility, and patience towards others.
The document discusses God's view of sex within marriage. It notes that the Bible describes sex between a married couple as beautiful. God wants married couples to enjoy sex as something healthy, wonderful, and even fun. The document advises that sex should be a regular part of marriage and is not something to be embarrassed about, as God smiles upon and enjoys married couples making love. The next session will discuss men and women's views of sex in marriage, and the homework assignment is for couples to talk about sex in their marriage using loving communication.

This document is an invitation to Holy Communion. It includes a confession of sins, absolution and forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ. It then proceeds with sharing signs of peace, prayers, reading of scripture, and partaking in communion. The overall message is one of invitation, reconciliation, forgiveness and sharing in the body and blood of Christ through communion.
The document discusses salvation through belief in Jesus Christ. It states that all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory, but that God sent his son Jesus to die for sins. It says that whoever believes in their heart that God raised Jesus from the dead will be saved. It encourages repenting of sins so God can cleanse and pardon iniquities.
The document discusses how some people view faith in God as a means to get what they want from God, such as protection, wealth, health, and destruction of enemies. However, faith is not meant to be transactional. When people see God only as a means to an end, they miss out on experiencing God's presence. The greatest consequence is not recognizing God for who he is. The document encourages focusing on developing a relationship with God rather than seeing him only as a way to get things.
The parable discusses how a man entrusted his servants with talents (a form of money) according to their abilities before going on a journey. Two servants doubled the money they were given and were praised, while the third buried his single talent out of fear and was punished.
The document suggests that Jesus has put us in charge of many things until his return, including our church, family, community, health, job, home, possessions, attitude, and money. It encourages good stewardship of what God has provided and given us responsibility over.

The notes discuss biblical passages about giving cheerfully and not for recognition, honoring God with your resources, tithing, and having faith that God will provide for your needs. The overarching message is that God desires his people to be generous with their time, talents and money, and that he promises to bless generous givers and meet their needs.
The document discusses the resources and preparation needed to return to Heavenly Father. It references scriptures about having clean hands and a pure heart to ascend to the Lord. It also references building temples without unclean things so God's glory can rest upon it. It emphasizes living standards of temple worthiness like obeying the Word of Wisdom, paying tithing, and keeping baptismal covenants. The document also discusses the sacrifices made by early Saints to build temples and the eternal blessings received in temples that make any sacrifice worthwhile.

Divorce was uncommon in India historically but has been increasing in recent years. The main causes of divorce include infidelity, growing apart, personality clashes, lack of communication, addiction issues, and domestic violence. Divorce can negatively impact children physically, emotionally, and socially according to research. Jesus taught that divorce should only occur in cases of adultery, in contrast to the more lenient views of the Pharisees at the time who allowed divorce for various minor reasons.
1) The document discusses how modern society does not highly value sex and intimacy in the way that God intends. It presents survey data showing declining views of activities like cohabitation and sex outside of marriage as morally acceptable.
2) In contrast, the document argues that God loves sex and intimacy within marriage, citing several biblical passages describing this sacred bond between husband and wife.
3) The document calls on Christians to uphold God's radical vision for sexual purity and intimacy only between married couples. It warns that lust and immorality can damage both body and spirit, and urges believers to follow God's word rather than their desires.
The document discusses what the Bible says about sexual sins. It provides several passages from the books of Galatians, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Ephesians, Colossians, 1 Timothy, and Thessalonians that condemn sexual immorality, adultery, incest, homosexuality, and lust. Punishments mentioned in Leviticus for various sexual sins include death. Matthew and Mark discuss Jesus' teachings on divorce and marriage. Ezekiel uses metaphorical language to condemn prostitution. Overall, the document asserts that the Bible prohibits unlawful sexual behavior and warns that those who engage in it will not inherit God's kingdom.
The document provides an overview of biblical perspectives on love, courtship, marriage, and sex. Principles for a successful marriage are outlined, including the importance of romance, fulfilling marital duties, and working through problems rather than walking away from the relationship.
1) The document discusses Cain and Abel from the Bible and their different spiritual seeds or nature. Cain was angry his sacrifice was not accepted by God while Abel's was.
2) Cain then murdered Abel out of jealousy. God cursed Cain to become a wanderer and the land would no longer yield crops for him.
3) The document warns that those who practice sin are of the devil, and people must avoid sin and fleeing from God like Cain did in order to receive God's protection and blessings.
This document discusses the Seventh-day Adventist views on marriage, family, and divorce. It outlines that marriage was divinely established as a lifelong union between a man and a woman. Divorce is acceptable only in cases of adultery, and remarriage is prohibited while the divorced spouse is still living. Children are a blessing when raised in the knowledge of God. The family plays an important role in spiritual nurture and is intended to reflect the relationship between Christ and the church.
The document discusses the importance of honoring one's spouse based on the biblical passage of Malachi 2:10-16. It makes two main points: 1) Marrying a foreign spouse or being unfaithful goes against honoring God. 2) Divorcing or mistreating one's spouse is considered treacherous and displeasing to God. It notes high divorce rates today and questions whether this reflects a lack of honoring attitudes. The conclusion encourages husbands to honor their wives so that their prayers will not be hindered, as God is present in marriages.
This document contains multiple Bible passages discussing various spiritual topics such as baptism after salvation, church attendance, hell, thoughts, Bible study, the fear of God, and street preaching. The passages provide guidance on fulfilling righteousness through baptism, the importance of not forsaking church assemblies, the torments of hell, bringing thoughts into obedience to Christ, studying scripture to gain wisdom and salvation, revering God through obedience, and proclaiming God's word publicly.

【Knowledge and experience of breaking away from the law】
A. The understanding of breaking away from the law—the parable of a woman remarried—breaking away by death: 1. The woman left her husband by death and returned to others (vv. 1~3) 2. We escape from the law and return to Christ through death (4~6)
B. The experience of breaking away from the opposite side of the law—the pain under the bondage of the law: 1. The law induces sin and kills us (7~13) 2. The law is spiritual, but it is not valid for those who are carnally sold to sin (vv. 14~20) 3. The pain of the battle of the three laws (or double laws) (vv. 21~24)
C. The positive experience of being freed from the law - being able to be freed in Christ Jesus (v. 25)
This document discusses adultery from a biblical perspective. It provides passages from Genesis establishing God's design for marriage as a lifelong union between one man and one woman. Additional passages condemn adultery as a betrayal of the marriage covenant and a sin against one's own body. While adultery is not permissible, the document notes it can be forgiven for those who repent and turn from sin through faith in Jesus Christ. The overall message is that God's plan is for married couples to honor their vows and flee temptation by focusing on spiritual growth and fulfilling their duties to one another.
This document discusses the sin of adultery and immorality. It defines adultery as any sexual activity outside of marriage, and identifies four types: physical, mental, legal, and spiritual. Adultery destroys homes and societies, sins against the body and soul, and goes against God's commandments. However, forgiveness is possible through repentance, which requires deciding to change one's mind and actions regarding sin.
This document discusses the importance of forgiveness and provides a 10-step process for achieving forgiveness. It notes that one of the devil's deadliest schemes is unforgiven wounds, and that Jesus taught forgiveness is necessary for God to forgive our sins. The 10-step process involves facing what happened, letting God in, being clear on the goal of forgiveness, reflecting on biblical passages about forgiveness, making the decision to forgive, letting a friend help, and finding freedom through forgiveness.
This document discusses the importance of forgiveness and provides steps to achieve forgiveness. It notes that unforgiveness can chain the heart and prevent one from being forgiven by God. The Bible teaches that we must forgive others for their sins against us in order to be forgiven by God for our own sins. The document then outlines ten steps to forgiveness, beginning with facing the hurt and letting God take control of it, being clear on the goal of forgiveness which is to honor and submit to God in order to be free and forgiven.
This document discusses the importance of forgiveness and how unforgiven wounds can keep us chained. It notes that our struggle is not against people but against spiritual forces, and one of the devil's most deadly schemes is unforgiven wounds, which can lead to resentment, bitterness, anger and hatred. It provides biblical passages that emphasize the importance of forgiveness for our own freedom and forgiveness by God. The document encourages examining our hearts for any unforgiven hurts that are affecting us and to pray for strength to face them, believe we can forgive through God's power and love, and ask God to lead us to the freedom that forgiveness provides.
Jesus criticized the scribes and Pharisees for not following their own teachings and instead focusing on outward appearances and honors. He delivered seven woes against them for shutting people out of heaven's kingdom, treating converts harshly, ignoring justice while focusing on minor legal points, neglecting inner purity while appearing outwardly clean, and honoring past prophets but being like those who killed them.
The passage from Psalm 34:1-8 describes how the LORD is good and how those who trust in Him will be blessed. It encourages the reader to taste and see for themselves that the LORD is good. God's goodness can be seen in creation, redemption through Jesus Christ, and the rewards of heaven. Those who cry out to the LORD will be heard, saved from troubles, and surrounded by God's protection. Blessed are those who put their trust in the infinitely and eternally good LORD.
The document discusses reasoning together and unity through love. It references scriptures encouraging walking together in humility, gentleness, patience, and bearing with one another in love. Romans 14 is cited as applying to matters where the Bible does not explicitly say to do or not do something - in such cases, people should not judge one another or cause others to stumble. The overall message is that Christians should follow what the Bible teaches, but be unified and accepting of one another.
This document discusses the biblical figures of Noah, Enoch, and their relationship with God. It notes that Noah was a righteous man who walked with God, and that Enoch walked with God for 300 years before being taken by God, having pleased God through his faith. The document suggests that Enoch must have been in agreement with God and had a willingness to conform to God's ways through his faith and trust in God.
This short document discusses the Jewish tradition of Tashlikh, where Jews symbolically cast away their sins on Rosh Hashanah by tossing pieces of bread or pebbles into bodies of running water. While the ritual originally involved literally throwing stones, it now represents casting away wrongs from the past year and starting anew. The document suggests that in a sense, people still throw symbolic stones today through this annual tradition of cleansing oneself before God.
This document discusses conflicting voices and provides guidance on whose voice to listen to. It warns about listening to the voice of passion and instead encourages listening to the voice of conscience. However, the most important voice is staying with revealed truth from Scripture. The document cautions that we should not accept any gospel other than what is revealed in the Bible and has been received by believers.
God calls Jonah to go to Nineveh and preach against their wickedness. However, Jonah flees by ship to Tarshish to avoid the call. God sends a storm that endangers the ship, and the sailors discover through casting lots that Jonah is responsible. Jonah instructs them to throw him overboard, which calms the sea. He goes to Nineveh as instructed and preaches repentance, and amazingly the entire city responds by turning to God, showing His great compassion even for heathen cities and His ability to use anyone, even the unwilling, to accomplish His purposes.
This passage from Revelation discusses Jesus' second coming. It states that:
1) Jesus' coming is a reality, as he promises "I am coming quickly" multiple times.
2) While the timing of his return is unknown, he instructs believers to always watch and be ready, since he will come unexpectedly like a thief in the night.
3) Believers should keep Jesus' words and commandments so that they may enter heaven when he returns.
Jesus diagnoses the scribes and Pharisees as hypocrites for focusing on outward appearances and minor legalistic rules while neglecting justice, mercy and faith. He criticizes them for straining out gnats but swallowing camels. Jesus also diagnoses his disciples as having little faith when they are afraid during a storm and unable to heal a boy with epilepsy. In contrast, Jesus praises the great faith of a Roman centurion and a woman with a blood disease who were healed based on their faith.
This document discusses Jesus' identity as revealed in the Bible. It provides several quotes from the gospels where Jesus refers to himself as "the bread of life", "the light of the world", and others. It then quotes passages where Peter and others acknowledge Jesus as "the Christ, the Son of the living God." Further quotes emphasize that Jesus is the source of salvation, peace, and hope of resurrection. The overall message is that Jesus reveals himself through scripture as the Christ and savior of mankind.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
