Are you constantly looking for the right funding route but coming up empty handed? Are you looking for alternative routes to fund your project that doesn’t rely on public bodies? Would you like to start engaging people with your project now? Crowdfunding could be your answer.
Crowdfunding is a modern, online and interactive way to raise funds directly from the public – or the Crowd – for your projects and activities. With the advent of Crowdfunding we can now turn our audiences into supporters and funders, by collecting multiple small donations online and offering unique incentives to encourage giving, not only can you raise funds to get your project of the ground but you can start to build a ‘buzz’ around it before hand.
The workshop will cover all the aspects you will need to create, implement and market your Crowdfunding project. Including:
• How does Crowdfunding work?
• Where can I crowdfund – what platforms are available?
• How to write the perfect pitch.
• Choosing the right rewards.
• Marketing your crowdfunding project.
• Engaging, thanking and keeping in touch with your new funders.
• Marketing your progress.
• Your next steps.
The workshop is suitable for all individuals, organisations and professionals who work within the Cultural, Creative, Heritage and Arts sector. Sian Jamieson, Audience Development Manager at HI-Arts will lead this 2 hour workshop and can provide opportunities for one to one consultations with about Crowdfunding and any ideas for potential projects after the event.

CrowdfundSW1 launched a new initiative to help support local charities and community groups by providing them with a platform to promote their projects and increase awareness at Microsoft HQ in London Victoria on 21 March 2012. The aim is to enable funding to reach into the heart of the local community where it is most needed.
This is the first crowd funding platform in the world to focus on fundraising for grassroots charities in a specific locality. The event (organised by CrowdfundSW1, Microsoft and Time & Talents Westminster) will be hosted by Steven D'Souza, internationally renowned speaker and author of the bestselling book Brilliant Networking.
What do you need to know that will help you design a community engagement-oriented project that will work? Whether your interest is in news, music, or events, come to this session to find out. Ann Alquist of NCME and Joellen Easton of APM’s Public Insight Network each help dozens of stations design projects that connect deeply with community. And they’ve learned a few things along the way. Jo and Ann share their tales of engagement gone wrong, and what they’ve learned about what works -- and what doesn’t -- in their combined 16 years of work on engagement. You’ll also get to hear from those stations whose successes and challenges are highlighted.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.
