» Open Visual Analyzer, click
on File, New Connection,
and Relational Database.

» Fill in The connection
Properties:
Provider String (you can click the
ellipse box on the top right for a wizard
to help you if necessary.
Select Table or View or enter your own
SQL statement like:
Select * from [Order Details Extended]
Give it a Name, Test and click the OK
button.

» Analyze your Data!
Drag Attributes to the Row or
Column Shelf
Drag Measures to the Data Shelf

your pivot table into a bar
chart.
» Use Encodings or other tools,
you can show or hide labels,
or select a line chart, change
colors and create other
formats.

» By using Filters, you can
segment your data and find
opportunities (good or bad).
» In this example, we will filter
on the value Margin and see
if any products are being sold
at a loss!
Drag Margin to the Filter Shelf and
then when prompted enter 0 for the
End value and click OK.
Now, you have Actionable Information you can do something about!
