This document provides an overview of the Global Gender and Economic Policy Management Initiative (GEPMI), which aims to accelerate achievement of the Millennium Development Goals by making economic policies and poverty reduction strategies deliver results equitably to women and men. The initiative was designed by the United Nations Development Programme and includes three major components: 1) A three-week short course on gender-responsive economic policy management, 2) Country-level advisory services and capacity development workshops, and 3) A Master's of Arts in gender-aware economics.
