The GeoBus project aims to promote OpenStreetMap mapping across the United States, especially in smaller communities and through education events. The GeoBus is a vehicle that will host mapping parties around the country beginning in 2011, with initial parties scheduled in Colorado mountain towns to map rural areas, tourist destinations, and improve small town maps while broadening the base of mappers. The goals are to make mapping parties easier to organize and focus on community development and education outreach.
