Pine Point is an interactive documentary created in 2010 by Michael Simons and Paul Shoebridge that tells the story of a town in Canada that no longer exists through a book, film, and website. It was originally intended to be a book but was expanded into a transmedia project to allow a more in-depth, nonlinear experience for users. The project uses audio, images, video and interactive elements to immerse viewers in the town and characters. It received positive reception with over 100,000 visitors in the first three months and several awards for innovation.
