 The indie rock scene in the US was suggested by the college rock that controlled college radio playlists, which
included key bands like R.E.M. from the US and The Smiths from the UK.
 Indie music means independent music and is one of the most famous category's of music. Indie meaning
independent means artists work upon a relatively low budget.
 The term indie refers to “underground” aspect of music.
 Indie is made by artists who usually have an unsigned record and are fairly unknown.
 Indie music was introduced around the mid 1980’s.
 Since indie music has been released it has grew massively to modern day. There is an increase in indie music
and more artists are becoming well known and selling albums and tours more than ever before.
