Employing Social Media in Text-Based InstructionAJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT:Text-Based Instruction was first introduced over two decades ago but still has relevance for
language teaching today. However, the texts typically used in this approach are of a literary or academic nature
rather than texts that are motivating and more immediately relevant to learners’ lives. This paper proposes the
use of social media platforms, in particular Instagram, as a way to make the utilization of Text-Based Instruction
more meaningful to students.

Setelah mengeksplorasi penyebab-penyebab masalah, langkah selanjutnya adalah menentukan akar penyebab masalah yang paling mendekati konteks yang dihadapi guru di kelas/sekolah.
Pada langkah ini, kita akan melakukan eksplorasi penyebab-penyebab masalah yang telah diidentifikasi sebelumnya melalui kajian literatur dan hasil wawancara.

This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The genre-based approach is a teaching method that developed
for delivering a text type or genre based on its social purpose, thus
the interpreting process will be more focus on the whole of the text
rather than its sentence by sentence (Lin, 2006).

Basically, genre-based approach aims at developing students' literacy skills
focusing on the social processes such as explain, describe, and argue (Kay &
Dudley-Evans, 1998).

6. Genre Based Approach can give effect to the students' writing ability. It means that
with this genre-based approach students can develop the knowledge and skill to
deal with spoken and written text in social context. It also purposes to prevent a
learner from gaining access to opportunities to develop their literacy skills in a
second language and from understanding and responding to the written text.
