Gender disparity exists in forest policy as institutions for property rights are biased against women, who have recognition without citizenship rights and can participate without political decision-making. To address this, efforts should improve the capacity for social analysis that considers gender, integrate sex-disaggregated data analysis, and inform policy to create more gender equitable forest governance.
