Gemma Furbank is an up-and-coming DJ who plays techno and house music. She has been DJing since 2003 and owns Technic 1210 decks. In 2009, her career took off as she began playing weekly gigs at venues in Manchester and building a fan base. She has organized several music events that have attracted thousands of attendees. Gemma continues to gain recognition for her skills and versatility as a DJ.

1. Gemma Furbank is a hot Techno & House music star! As a DJ, she is well-
known for bringing truly sublime tracks together with flawless precision &
perfect execution. With a highly energetic and vibrant persona, bursting
with enthusiasm and passion behind the deck’s connecting with every crowd
she play’s for. Gemma owned her first decks in 2003 - her beloved Technics
1210's. Gemma takes a lot of Inspiration from her favourite DJ's and styles,
and is always inspired by other talented DJ’s such as James Zabiela and his
amazing technique! Gemma is always trying to up her game to keep her
mixes and sets fresh, unique and exciting. She has the amazing ability to
always deliver exactly what each crowd is looking for!
2009 saw a meteoric rise to the forefront of both the Manchester and UK
scene for Gemma, for having only been mixing a few short months, to
playing her first gig at Uber in Carlisle in January, to playing every weekend
at some amazing venue’s, and building a great fan base.
Gemma entered the world of Event Promotion and organised a charity
House Music night "Aural Pleasure" in February 2009 and all proceeds
were given to Breast Cancer Care. The night gained support from local and
International DJs such as David Dunne (Galaxy Radio/Hed Kandi) who
played at the event, and DJs like K-Klass and Jon Fitz who offered promo
support and prizes!
In August 2009 Gemma also organised the dance tent at "Mozfest" in
Mossley Lancs. The event attracted over 8000 people over the course of the
weekend. Gemma's headline set had the tent crammed to the rafters, with
revellers climbing on top of each other and dancing on whatever they could
stand on! A very special guest VJ also jumped on-board. Fresh from Global
Gathering, providing the back drop for none other than Mr James Zabiela
and Carl Cox and then again for Sander Kleinenberg on the 9th of August.
Gemma arranged for Mark Vity, Ireland’s No.1 VJ as voted for at the Irish
Dance Music Award’s, of Ghost Visuals to fly in from Ireland to provide
some amazing visuals for the evenings set's!
Gemma gained the ESSTIGE DJ OF THE MONTH crown for August 2009.
Having noticed all the hard work, determination and passion she displays!
In January 2010, she was the leading finalists’, to receive the title of
MANCHESTER’S BEST FEMALE DJ.
She plays a wide variety of musical styles which makes her a completely
versatile DJ, these style’s include ; Deep House/Progressive
house/Progressive Breaks/House/Tech-House/Minimal Tech/Techno - she
likes to call it 'Eclectronic music’
As a Producer and Remixer, Gemma has new E.P’s in the pipeline in both
Progressive house/Deep House and Techno. Gemma will be teaming up with
some of Techno’s great’s throughout 2011. Previous success came as one half
of the chart topping Duo AUDIO DOLLS. Their first release “SUB-SONIC”
was signed to the MAD HATTER RECORDINGS label within 24 hours of it’s
creation! Owned by Nick Hussey, and Carl Anians, a label championed by

2. Carl Cox. The track stormed straight to the number 1 slot in the Top 100
Tech Chart on trackitdown.net, and gained huge support from DJ’s such as
Daniel Portman, Eddie Halliwell, Matt Smallwood, Michael Woods, Glitter
and Mindform.
Gemma has also been a regular feature at the world’s No.1 Club, as voted for
by DJMAG, SANKEYS, and its sister club, SPEKTRUM. Gemma also played
at one of Europe’s largest 3 day festival’s in the 2010 OXEGEN FESTIVAL, in
Dublin, Ireland. An event attracting up to 85,000 reveller’s daily. With an
interview for IMTV and Sub-Sonic being the opening track to the weekend’s
antics. Gemma has played for other huge brand’s such as GOODGREEF with
further gig’s coming up in July as part of the Goodgreef Girl’s night at super
club THE SYNDICATE, Blackpool.
Gemma has been taking the international circuit by storm, with bookings
flowing in from places like India, Bahrain, Lebanon and more playing on the
MINISTRY OF SOUND World Tour’s in Egypt, France, and India.
Gemma will also be playing the M.O.S World tour’s in Dubai June 9th
,
Housexy Summer Festival, Montpelier France on August the 4th, with Las
Vegas, Boston and Istanbul to follow later in the year.
Gemma has a weekly radio show on DANCERADIO.CA and her 2 hour
show, fortnightly on MANCHESTERGLOBAL.CO.UK with guest’s such as
ALAN FITZPATRICK, KAISERDISCO, UMEK, FERGIE,
SUBFRACTAL,PHUNK INVESTIGATION, LUCCA, TOMY DECLERQUE, MR
HENRY VON, ERPHUN and many more artist’s lining up to guest mix.
