Radiohead is an alternative rock band from England known for changing their sound over time. Their album "Kid A" incorporated more electronic elements like programmed beats and jazz horns. This album won a Grammy for Best Alternative Album. Their album "OK Computer" from 1997 is considered one of the landmark albums of the 1990s and drew from influences like film composer Ennio Morricone. When releasing "In Rainbows" in 2007, Radiohead experimented with digital distribution by allowing fans to pay any price for the download. 4. Ok ComputerAll radio head songs where all about the lyrics and the atmosphere that they created. OK Computer was described by Tom Yorkeas “incredibly dense and a terrifying sound” They drew influence from the film sound track composer “EnnioMorricone” and modern classical composer “Krzysztof Penderecki” whose music “Yorke” would describe as “atmospheric”. This album is acclaimed as the landmark record of the 1990s.

5. Post Modern elements When releasing the album “In Rainbows” they sold it through digital downloading so people could choose how much they wanted to pay for it> So from a business aspect this was post modern. Tom Yorke was a DJ in a techno band at Exeter University, but the genre of his band was alternative rock, when it got to there fourth album “Kid A” Tom combined the alternative rock with his knowledge of techno. They also drew influence from “Dj Shadow” he also uses a range of different instruments and would class his music as atmospheric. Later on in the albums they expanded their musical instruments by the song “15 steps” they enlisted a group of children from Matrix musical and Arts Centre to make the sound of clapping, this proved not to be good so they recorded the children cheering instead.

6. Hail to the Thief a Hiatus This was Radioheads 6th album and was also there longest album of an hour, with each song being 3 minutes long which was shorter than an average song, “Yorke” said he drew his inspiration for this from “The Beatles” They said that this album was going back to more of their older alternative rock influences.

7. King of Limbs Again Radiohead liked to shock the public with their unusual marketing techniques. When they brought this their most recent album “King of Limbs” they only gave the public one weeks notice for when it came out. As well as releasing an album they also released there own newspaper album which contained 2 10 inch vinyl records a CD , many large sheets of artwork 625 little pieces of artwork and a album download. They had there own assigned website where you could order this special addition, so again from a marketing perspective they have been post modern.
