Geismar was founded in 1924 in Colmar, France and originally supplied tools and hardware for railway track maintenance. After World War 2, Geismar contributed to the mechanization of railway maintenance by building the first coach screwing machine, beginning their product line of handheld machinery. Over decades, Geismar's product range expanded to include heavy machinery for track works/renewal, turnkey factories for wooden sleeper and rail welding production, and the first series of track motorcars. Geismar now has a comprehensive range of multi-purpose road-rail vehicles, sells equipment in 115 countries, and operates factories across Europe with over 50 agents worldwide.
