Narcotics
The Problem:
•Trace detection can detect invisible
traces of narcotics
•It can Identify one or more different
substances at the same time
•It can help you search for concealed
substances
•Very effective in the Customs
environments, ports, airports, prison, …

Explosives
The Problem:
1) Trace detection can detect invisible
traces of explosives
•It can Identify one or more different
substances at the same time
•It can help you search for concealed
substances
•Very effective in the Customs
environments, ports, airports, prison, …
2) Computer Tomograph can detect
the mass of explosive on the baggage
• It can identify one or more different
substances at the same time.
• It can help operator to find and
eradicate the manace.
•Very effective in all airports

Bag throughput, non-threat alarm rate
and time to resolve alarms
T [BPH] : bag throughput per hour
R [s] : threat resolution time by operator
NTAR [%] : non-threat alarm rate (typically 25%)
Number of alarmed bags per hour = T*NTAR
Total alarm resolution time per hour = R*T*NTAR
Example: T = 400BPH, R = 20s, NTAR = 25%
Number of alarmed bags per hour = 400*25% = 100
Time to resolve alarmed bags per hour = 20* 400*25% = 2000s

Multiplexing Capability
Multiplexing is the networking of multiple CTX systems with multiple viewing
stations. It can reduce operating costs by optimizing security resources.

The remote System
The ViewLink system provides ETD operators with a tool to remotely retrieve and
replay bag images at ETD stations which facilitates directed searches.
