1. GC4: Production Explanation
The product I had to build for “High School Musical”
was a trophy cabinet. I decided to build a trophy
cabinet because researching American high schools
trophy cabinets are common. Also with “East High’s”
rich basketball pedigree it would fit in with the social
context.
1. Firstly, we built the trophy cabinet by
using a wooden frame. Then we
stuck planks of wood onto the frame
to make it look more authentic.
2. Then, we screwed it all together. We
had to use a lot of screws because
the cabinet its self is quite big and
because I used thick pieces of wood
and if we didn’t use a lot screws it
would be structurally sound.
3. Then we used long pieces of Perspex
for the trophies to sit on. We did this
by screwing pieces of wood onto to
frame so the Perspex can just sit on
top. This reduces cost by not using
any screws.
4. Finally, we painted it red to match the colour scheme of “East High” which is red and
white.
