Gamification is defined as using game design elements such as rewards and points in non-game contexts to motivate and engage users. While gamification can be an effective technique to improve engagement, simply adding rewards and points may not be enough without also considering gameful design principles. Research has shown gamification can improve feedback from online surveys when done thoughtfully.
