First of all, we should indicate that the answers show big
differences from other partners’ answers since our students are
high schoolstudents as being differentfrom their European friends
studying at primary or secondry school .So we can clearly
understand that most of them who are now teenagers having
different interests are not interested in toys and games anymore
that they used to have or play in their childhood a few years ago.So,
71 % of them mention that they never receive toys as presentswhile
29% says they still receive toys suitable for teenagers as presents
only on their birthdays.
Similarly, 64% of them say nobody buys toys or games for
them,but 32% says mostly their families(21%)or friends (12%)buys
toy sor games for them.Only a little part of them(6%) mention that
they buy toys or games for themselves.
Although 32% of them don’t prefer any toys or games, mostof them
prefers sportive toys-games suchas bikes, skates, balls etc., board
games such as tabu, monopoly, backgammon, chess etc. or video-
console games that are more sutable for teenagers. On the other
hand, any of them don’t prefer toys or games such as legos,
puzzles, dolls, teddy bears or street games.
While 59% of them say they don’t have any toys,41% says they still
have just a few (32%) or some (9%) toys.
Unfortunately, a great number of them (94%) agree that there are
differenttoys-games for girls and boys. So,We can understand that
there are still lots of works that we should go on working after the
projectto break this prejudice and gender discrimination in years.
Nearly all of them think that only boys play with toy cars, planes,
tools and video console gamesand only girls play with dolls, teddy
bears or little houses. However, most of them agree that both girls
and boys can play with board games, puzzles and intelligence
developing toys, sportive toys such as bikes, skates, balls etc., and
lego or building toys.
When they wantto play a game, they mostly preferplaying with their
schoolmates or friends from the neighbourhood while just a little
number prefers playing with their siblings or cousins.
On the contrary of other partners in the project, they dont prefer
playing with their parentsbecause they are teenagers .Most of our
students like playing sportive games with their schoolmates in the
school garden, gym or in the park.A little part of them say they like
playing in the street or at home(video games).
On the other hand,it is nice to see that most of them tidy or
organize their rooms themselves.Thisshows that they are aware of
their responsibilities as teenagers at home.
Half of our students (50%) indicates that they generally give their
toys to their siblings if they dont use them anymore while the other
half prefers giving them to their friends, throwing away or keeping
them somewhere at home.
While, most of the girls answering the questionaire think that
especilly cars, guns, video games, soccer ballor tools are the most
appropriate toys for boys, most of the boys think that dools, teddy
bears, little houses, toy kitchen utensils are them most appropriate
ones for girls.
Another interesting answer is that just 61% of the girls are
embarresed to play with toys that are considered more appropriate
for boys while 100% of boys are embarresed to play with toys that
are considered more appropriate for girls. So we can state that girls
are more tend to be mild or equable than boys about gender
equality.
Finally,it is really satisfactory that a great number of our students
think that toy guns and some video games are violentand they they
don’t like playing violent games. So,it is really hopeful and
encouragingfor the world peace to see the new generation against
the violent, fights and wars.
