This study examined gaming characteristics, personality traits, and addiction among 225 medical student interns in India. The prevalence of gaming addiction was found to be 19.88% among gamers and 15.55% of all interns. Interns with gaming addiction tended to play online, spend money on gaming, and play for over 5 years. Addiction was associated with higher sensation seeking, aggression, and neuroticism, as well as lower extraversion and self-esteem.
