Galileo Galilei (1564-1642) was an influential Italian scientist who played a major role in the scientific revolution. He improved the telescope and made important astronomical observations that supported Copernicanism. Galileo is known as the "father of modern observational astronomy", "father of modern physics", and "father of science". The mission of the Galileo organization is to do charity, inspire people through sharing knowledge, and spread knowledge worldwide by sending members to teach in poor areas. The monastery headquarters is located in the countryside of Rome and features classrooms, meeting rooms, and meditation rooms to further the organization's goals.
