The City of College Station held two public hearings and discussed adopting a tax rate of 47.2500 cents per $100 of assessed value, which is above the effective and rollback tax rates but below the current rate. The proposed rate includes a general fund rate of 27.7161 cents and a debt service rate of 19.5339 cents, and will fund the general fund budget and meet debt service requirements. On September 22, the city council will vote on whether to adopt the proposed tax rate ordinance setting the new total tax rate.
