ABSTRACT
▶ This paper introduces you the introduction to sixth sense
technologies (sixth sense pots) and describes that how sixth
sense technologies work. We also discuss about factors like
gesture recognition, computer vision, radio frequency of voice
etc. It addresses with the sixth sense device’s infrastructure and
modeling. We focus on what are sixth sense pots and what are
benefits that future is going to gain by them and how to use
augmented reality to make a physical real world environment
with virtual computer generated imagery. And finally we present
the real world application areas of these sixth sense pots and
state advantages and disadvantages with this future technology
INTRODUCTION TO 6TH SENSE
TECHNOLOGY
▶ Sixth sense technology can be introduced as an gestural interface that
enables us interact with physical world with digital world
▶ This technology fills the interaction gap between the real world and
digital world
▶ Pranav Mistry a PhD of fluid interfaces group in MIT media lab
developed this such an idea of sixth sense technology
▶ We can also say that this as an advanced level of Internet of Things
application
▶ These devices consists of a pocket projector, mirror and a camera.
These hard ware components can be embedded in any gadgets or
any wearable object
COMPONENTS OF
6TH SENSE
TECHNOLOGY
▶ Camera
▶ Projector
▶ Mirror
▶ Mobile
component
▶ Colored markers
Camera
▪ It captures the objects in a view
and keeps track of hand gestures
▪ It sends the data captured to
mobile component
▪ It works as an digital eye,
connecting the physical world
with digital world
Projector
▪ It projects the visual information enabling
the physical objects and surfaces as
interfaces
▪ We choose a battery inbuilt type projector
▪ The data gathered from mobile
component is projected on to any surface
like a wall or hand etc.
▪ Mirror’s usage is very
significant as projector
dangles pointing
downwards from neck
▪ We can also say that
this mirror is used to
reflect images to the
desired screen
An internet enabled smart
phone acts as a mobile
component is used for
processing the images and
videos captured
▪ It is at the tip of users
fingers
▪ Different colors to different
figures helps camera to
recognize gestures
▪ The movements and
gestures made by these
are given as instructions to
mobile component
MECHANISM OF 6TH SENSE TECHNOLOGY
▪ Gesture Recognition
▪ Computer vision
▪ Radio frequency
identification(special case)
Major Works done by the
technology
Applications of 6th sense technology
Call using Palm
We can call using our palm as screen
The virtual keyboard projects on to the
hand
We can select the numbers and dial
The colored markers to our hands help
us select the keys
Navigate anywhere using figures
We can navigate to any maps using
figures on any surface and navigate just
using figures
ADVANTAGES
▶ The system is portable
▶ Multi-touch multiuser interaction interface
▶ Connects physical world with digital world easily
▶ Better connection of world with information
▶ Data access directly from machine to real life
▶ Open source for everyone
▶ Mind mapping idea anywhere and can be
everywhere etc.
▶ There is a large scope of 6th sense technology for future
everyone wants lead a simple and comfortable life. These sixth
sense devices make life better and reduce the difficulty level
of accessing technology. So we conclude that everyone are
interested for next level innovation of smart things and Internet
of Things, so this stands as a future for all those technology
lovers. Hope to see highly developed six sense technology for
the future and make it future with sixth sense technology
