Proposed Title Fear and Loathing in Agility: Long Live the Accounting Departm...Laszlo Szalvay
"A dead ScrumMaster is a useless ScrumMaster,” echo the votary of Ken Schwaber (Co-Founder of Scrum) folklore. In this session hosted by Pat Reed (Agile Alliance Board Member) and Laszlo Szalvay (Executive at SolutionsIQ) we will explore how and why the accounting department needs to be your biggest champion as you embark on your next agile transformation. Pat and Laszlo will walk through concrete steps and real world examples of how capitalization works with Scrum and what you need to tell the accountants so they don’t shoot you.
So don’t end up a dead ScrumMaster.
South Florida HDI Event, Mobile Technology in Business Today, November 15, 2012Eddie Vidal
Mobile technology is not only a part of your everyday personal life but also a critical part of your business success. How are you adapting to support mobile devices from laptops to smartphones to tablets? It’s not only about tracking the device but managing and securing them as well – anywhere, anytime; on or off the network.
Using Web 2.0 to Turn Legacy Content into a Revenue-Generating Corporate AssetPam Noreault
Technical content creators and documentation teams are usually company cost centers. Web 2.0 changes this landscape. With research, strategic planning, and customer analysis, you can take your legacy content and turn it into a revenue-generating corporate asset. This session will provide research and details surrounding one or two such implementations. Additionally, the session will provide implementation ideas, ideas for generating revenue with your content, and typical cost savings.
Oracle has recently launced a new MDM hub for tackling the Site domain. Many organizations in industries such as Retail, Utilities, Financials, etc., have a huge problem to manage site information in their business context and all of the information (lots of attributes) that they need to manage at these site levels. Oracle addresses this need through the launching of their Site Hub product
This presentation talks about few of the use cases for SIte Hub and discusses the features of the Site Hub product.
Oracle has been working hard for several years in building Oracle Fusion Applications which are slated to be released sometime during 2010. In this session, you will learn basic concepts of Fusion Applications, User Experience/UI Shell, features and functionality of Applciations. Present information about the Oracle Fusion Applications Present key concepts and ideas behind Fusion Applications Discuss the key technologies used by Oracle for Fusion Applications

A talk by Alan Shalloway at the European Lean IT Summit 2012. This talk provides 2 essential meta-patterns of Lean: focus on value and eliminating delays. These can be used to guide the creation of an effective and efficient workflow. It presents four case studies, each building on the concepts of the other, to provide actionable advice for your own implementations.

Site/Location Hub is an MDM solution for mastering site/location data in an enterprise to facilitate the management of enterprise wide (single) view of locations and associated information with key MDM features such as Data Quality, Extensibility, etc., built in.
Our vision is clear. We are here to change the way enterprise software is acquired, hosted and maintained. Today’s technology offerings are evolving to meet changing customer requirements and market demographics. Enterprise software is one of the last technologies prone to long evaluation cycles, huge deployment costs and risky implementations. While most software vendors provide freemium purchase models, ERP and other applications are woefully out-of-date. Business moves too quickly. And, a new generation of professionals views the RFP selection process as a relic from another era. It doesn’t need to be that way.
Once the software is installed, its capabilities should be boundless. While SaaS offerings have changed the financial dynamic of purchasing software it has created compromises in customization and extensibility. Our vision is different. We foresee the need to add operational and performance insight, a vast array of tools to speed implementation and enhance usability, a catalog of complementary software to meet the unique needs of businesses through an app store concept, and a social fabric to truly enrich application functionality. With so much innovation creating new frontiers, why confine your enterprise applications to yesterday’s traditions?

Upgrade Scenarios
2012 Rhapsody Technologies, Inc., All rights reserved.
41
Bringing People, Processes and Technology Together
42. Upgrade Scenarios
• One to One
• EBS to Fusion Apps
• PeopleSoft Financials to Fusion Apps
• PeopleSoft HRMS to Fusion Apps
• Siebel CRM to Fusion Apps
• Many to One
• Can not be done through automated upgrade path
• Upgrade one environment first
• and then reimplement rest
• Or Upgrade into another FA environment and consolidate FA environments
• One to Many
• If you use any functionality that is not part of V1 but still see business value in
going to Fusion Apps, this may result in multiple Fusion Apps instances.
• Can be mitigated through FA environment consolidation
2012 Rhapsody Technologies, Inc., All rights reserved.
42
Bringing People, Processes and Technology Together
43. Upgrade Styles
• Continue with Apps Unlimited Path
• Upgrade only when you are ready
• Big Bang upgrade to Fusion Applications
• Suitable for only some companies, especially service
based ones
• Fusion V1 doesn’t include all the functionality (for
example lack of localization support, budgetary control,
manufacturing modules, etc.)
2012 Rhapsody Technologies, Inc., All rights reserved.
43
Bringing People, Processes and Technology Together
44. Upgrade Styles
• Co-Existence Approach
• Co-existence of parts of Fusion Applications with current
applications environment
• Pre-packaged co-existence integrations (about 10 of
them with V1) using SOA and ODI. For example:
• Fusion distributed order orchestration to non-Fusion order
entry fulfillment
• Fusion Accounting Hub to non-Fusion financials
• Fusion MDM Hubs

45. Fusion Applications !!!
What does this means to you?
2012 Rhapsody Technologies, Inc., All rights reserved.
45
Bringing People, Processes and Technology Together
46. Adoption and Implementation
• Get trained in Fusion Middleware Technologies
• Or become a Dinosaur… Eventually…
• Prepare to re-implement if your current installation is heavily
customized
• Take stock of all customizations
• Document existing business processes
• Identify and document process issues and deficiencies
• Upgrade (probably technical) to EBS R12 if you are on R11i and
your installation is either vanilla or lightly customized
• Can upgrade easily from R12 to Fusion Applications, though you can
technically upgrade from R11i to Fusion Applications
• Older versions of EBS (prior to R11.5.10) will not be able to directly upgrade to
Fusion Applications
2012 Rhapsody Technologies, Inc., All rights reserved.
46
Bringing People, Processes and Technology Together
47. Adoption and Implementation …
• Explore implementing Fusion Accounting Hub
• This will give you following benefits
• Sophisticated financial reporting base
• With sophisticated Allocation Engine
• With built-in Reporting capabilities through use of Cubes
• Minimal disruption
2012 Rhapsody Technologies, Inc., All rights reserved.
47
Bringing People, Processes and Technology Together
48. Adoption and Implementation …
• Explore implementing Fusion MDM applications either for
Customer or for Product or both initially
• This will give you following benefits
• You are implementing a must have application that you most likely have not
implemented yet
• Learn the inner workings of Fusion Applications in the process
• By the time you are ready to migrate from Apps Unlimited Applications to
Fusion Applications
• You will have trained resources
• The product would have stabilized
• Oracle might have released one or two point versions
• Possibly increased functionality like releasing of Manufacturing modules
and/or MDM solution for other domains like Sites, Suppliers, Accounting,
etc.
2012 Rhapsody Technologies, Inc., All rights reserved.
48
Bringing People, Processes and Technology Together
49. Adoption and Implementation …
• Explore implementing New Apps
• Identify business needs that are not being fulfilled by AU
Apps at your organization regardless of AU App exists or
not
• See if an App is provided by Fusion Applications
• Consider implementing these modules
