1. “The Fulbright Program has solidified for me the importance of cross-
cultural communication and understanding in advancing global
progress. If we as global citizens are going to navigate this changing
world together, we need to seek out experiences that encourage us to
speak to each other, listen to each other, and live amongst each other.
The Fulbright Program does just that.”
-Binta Jammeh, Fulbright English Teaching Assistant 2016-2017
2. “Thanks to the support of the Fulbright commission, this year has
been a memorable adventure in learning--how to live in a new
environment, to work in a new community, to help students learn,
and all the while, to keep listening. Though living and working in
France has not been a drastic change, it has been full of intricacies
that have taught me a lot about language and multicultural
exchange, and about different ways of understanding and
expression, which have been endlessly interesting to meditate on
and will provide valuable experience for any work I pursue
hereafter.”
- Alison Graham, Fulbright English Teaching Assistant 2016-2017
3. “As a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, I met many motivated French high school students and helped
them achieve their academic goals, which included speaking English at a higher level. I am grateful for
my Fulbright experience because it afforded me an opportunity to live in France and be immersed in
French culture. I learned how to live in this new context, while reflecting on my life and how I want to
shape my career and future plans, and I learned the importance of building a sense of community
wherever I go. This has easily been one of the best and most singular experiences of my life.”
- Omolade Sogade, Fulbright English Teaching Assistant 2016-2017
