This document outlines the requirements and process for a field study student to observe principles of assessment of learning in different classroom settings. The student's target is to identify applications of assessment principles by observing three classes and interviewing resource teachers. An observation sheet with the principles is provided to document examples seen in each class. The student must also analyze potential consequences of not following principles, reflect on personal experiences, create a portfolio, and submit all work before the deadline.

Teacher Evaluation Develop a teacher evaluation checklist alehosickg3
Teacher Evaluation
Develop a teacher evaluation checklist for the grade level and subject you researched in Week 3 that is either based on Table 9.1: Hunter’s Elements of Lesson Design or Table 9.2: Farrell’s Elements of Lesson Design.
Have at least 2 evaluation points for each row on the table.
In addition to written notes, you must devise a rating scale (a number scale, unsatisfactory to exceptional, etc.) for each evaluation point on your checklist. You can use different scales for different points.
Consider the points made from the two articles posted this week about implementing teacher evaluation.
Respond to at least one of your classmates.
Identify at least 3 professional development opportunities to address teachers who need improvement based on their scores on their evaluations.
Explain how you will assign professional development in a fair and non-discriminatory way.
Consider the points made from the two articles posted this week about implementing teacher evaluation and follow-up training.

3. My Map
I will observe at least 3 different classes. Pay close attention to what the
resource teacher does in relation to assessment.
To hit my target, I will work my way through these steps:
Step 1: I will review the principles of assessment of learning on page 114-
122 of principles of teaching, 2007 by Corpuz, B. and G.
Salandanan and Assessment of learning 2, 2007 Santos, Rosita,
pp. 7-22.
Step 2: I will observe 3 different classes and interview my Resource
teachers for principle no. 8.
Step 3: I will identify evidence of applications of the principles of
assessment of learning. I may cite more than one evidence per
principle of assessment.
Step 4: Guided by question/questions, I will reflect all my experience. Write
down my reflection.
My Tools
As I observe a class, I will use the Observation Sheet for a more focused
observation.

4. Principles of Learning Assessment Teaching behaviour of the teacher/
learning behaviour of the learner as
proof of the Application of the
Principle of Learning
1. Assessment is an integral part of the
teaching-learning process.
1.
2. Assessment tool/activity should
match with performance objective.
2.
3. The results of assessment must be
fed back to the learners.
3.
4. Teachers must consider learners’
learning styles and multiple
intelligences and s must come up with
a variety of ways of assessing learning.
4.
5. Give some positive feedback along
will not so good ones.
5.
6. Emphasize on self-assessment. 6.
7. Assessment of learning should never
be used as punishment or as
disciplinary measure.
7.
8. Emphasize on real world application
that favors realistic performances over
out of context drills.
8.
9. Results of learning assessment must
be communicated regularly to parents.
9.
5. My Analysis
What are the possible consequences on the teaching-learning process if
each of the principles are not observed?

6. My Reflections
As student, do I remember any incident when any of these principles
was/were violated by my teachers? How did it affect my classmates and me?
