Episode 1: Creating an Appropriate Learning Environment
Learning Environment Chart
Physical Environment Psychological Environment
Describe the following:
Teacher’s effort in making the learning
environment free from distraction.
We have noticed that the teacher must put
in additional effort in managing the
classroom due to high noise levels caused by
the students.
The classroom really lacks discipline because
while the teacher is explaining the class
didn’t listen.
Teacher’s effort in making the classroom
clean and organized.
The physical environment appears tidy and
clean, but there are certain students who
engage in unnecessary actions like stomping
their feet, as well as displaying inappropriate
behavior.
Describe the following:
Teacher’s effort in addressing
psychological needs of the students:
After carefully observing the situation, one of
the students directed unnecessary remarks
towards the teacher. However, upon realizing
his error, he promptly apologized to the
teacher.
The teacher graciously accepted the student's
apology.
The teacher instructed the students to
concentrate on the assigned task.
The teacher demonstrates competence. We
appreciate the teacher's effective delivery of
the lesson, which is characterized by clear
instruction.
The students were less distracted as the
teacher spoke confidently in front of the class.
This approach can be seen as an effective
method of capturing the learners' attention.
Additionally, the teacher engaged the
students by assigning an activity where they
could express their agreement or
disagreement. Everyone actively participated
in the class discussion, and the topic became
more intriguing due to the exchange of ideas
and perspectives.
Teacher’s effort in keeping the students
from any form of harm.
The teacher instructed the students to
abstain from their conflict.
The teacher only permits the students to
leave the classroom when necessary, such as
for using the restroom.
Teacher’s effort in establishing/maintaining
good relationship between him/her and the
students, and among the students.
The teacher used humor to uplift the students’
spirits and create a lighthearted atmosphere.
The teacher had a pleasant appearance as
they wore a smile during the discussion.
Analysis:
How do physical and psychological environments impact the learning of the students?
How do teachers provide a safe, secure, and supportive environment amidst this new
normal situation?
How does the utilization of ICT promote learning?
1. Creating a conducive physical and psychological environment is crucial for a class to
achieve effective learning. When the teacher lacks competence and fails to employ
effective teaching strategies, it becomes challenging for students to pay attention.
Additionally, we have observed inadequate performance from certain teachers, as they
struggle to deliver the lesson effectively due to a lack of strong presence during instruction
2. To begin with, it is essential for the teacher to maintain constant attentiveness. They
should remain vigilant and keep a watchful eye on the students. Furthermore, the teacher
should demonstrate thoughtfulness and approachability, making themselves open and
accessible to the students. Lastly, it is crucial for the teacher to possess flexibility and
confidence, adapting to different situations and teaching methods with assurance.
3. In today's era, education has significantly transformed with the integration of technology.
The use of information and communication technology (ICT) has become vital due to the
advancements brought about by modernization. As educators, it is imperative for us to be
competent and adaptable to the demands of the modern world. Possessing innovative
teaching methods is a crucial skill for teachers and educational staff, as it greatly enhances
the learning process for students. By incorporating technology and media into the learning
process, it not only offers convenience and benefits to both teachers and students but also
facilitates a more effective educational experience.
Reflection:
In the near future, would you like to teach in the same set up you just observed? Why?
Should I become a teacher, I will take measures to prevent any disruptive behavior in the
classroom, ensuring that my students refrain from engaging in inappropriate conduct. Moreover,
I will establish high moral standards for my students and impart upon them the value of mutual
respect. It greatly troubles me to witness students displaying disrespect towards their teachers.
As an educator, my aim would be to shape the character of my students, fostering not only
academic excellence but also the development of positive qualities. I have observed a decline in
student behavior, with a lack of respect towards teachers becoming increasingly prevalent.
Therefore, if I were to teach, I would not tolerate such a setting and would prioritize instilling
discipline in my students.

Reflection:
As a future educator I am excited about the process of shaping young minds and helping
my students grow into responsible and successful individuals. I believe that education is a
powerful tool that can transform lives and communities. By imparting knowledge and skills, I hope
to empower my students to achieve their goals and make a positive impact on the world. However,
I am also aware of how difficult and stressful the job of teaching can be. It takes a lot of effort,
commitment, and perseverance. I'll need to learn new things on the job and adjust to changing
circumstances and difficulties. However, I am prepared to make the sacrifices necessary to work
hard as a teacher and impact my students' lives in a positive way. I am looking forward to the
opportunity to encourage and inspire my future students as we travel this path together.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION 1-A
Reflection:
In my role as a prospective educator, I intend to emulate certain instructional methods
employed by experienced teachers. Specifically, I plan to adopt a similar classroom environment
and incorporate various technologies, such as information and communication technology (ICT).
Recognizing that students are often engaged by visual presentations, leveraging these tools will
enhance the appeal and comprehension of lessons. Additionally, utilizing visual aids will enable
students to better grasp the concepts being conveyed by the teacher.
