The need for a VLE!

• Staff and pupil challenges.
• Vicious cycle of doom!
• Allowed us an opportunity to re-scope our needs.
• Re-buy in from key stakeholders.
• Perhaps most importantly, a fresh start!
Our requirements!
• (In a very, very, vague order of importance!)
• A simple, easy to use interface
• Integration with SIMS.net (our MIS)
• Child friendly tools to engage our children
• (or as one child said “it’s pretty sick”)
• A time-efficient tool

A lot less painful than expected!
• Frog set us up June time - essential time to explore
• Staff accounts setup
• Half hour school-led training - staff given time to get on with it
• Hour training provided by Frog
• Pupil accounts set up
• Job done……….

How we use Frog now
Constantly changing!
• Previously, the focus of a VLE was about sharing homework to avoid
printing - a very dangerous approach!
• Evolved over time:
• Aid phone-school communication
• eSafety
• Home learning and setting suitable tasks
• Remove burden of additional marking
• Streamline admin processes
