1. POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: ASSOCIATE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR /
DIRECTOR COMMERCIAL SERVICES
DEPARTMENT: FOUNDATION
REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
HOURS: FULL-TIME
FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Executive Director will report directly to the Executive Director of the CSUDH
Foundation. The Associate Executive Director will advise and assist the Executive Director and
other Foundation administrators in developing and implementing policies and strategies to
ensure the continued financial strength of the Foundation; assist with the development and
implementation of new business opportunities; develop and foster a customer service
orientation; build strong relationships with internal and external constituents; represent the
Executive Director’s position in meetings involving campus, community, governmental officials
and groups; and relieve the Executive Director of operational details on an assigned basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Acts on an assigned basis to relieve the Executive Director from operational details, and
represents the Foundation on a designated basis to boards, committees, campus
groups, and external organizations or agencies.
Actively participates in program/policy formulation, presentation, implementation and
evaluations of various management activities.
Studies and reviews the activities of department programs on an assigned basis to
assure compliance with external requirements, determine conformance with
management policies, and to develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the
programs.
Conducts special studies, investigations, and prepares administrative reports as
assigned and assists in the implementation of new policies, programs and procedures.
Provides a leadership role for the Foundation for business/enterprise development
activities and program expansions. Leads the assessment of business/enterprise
development projects and products according to Foundation goals.
Prepares preliminary factual reports regarding target businesses consisting of, but not
limited to: diligence assessments, presentations on strategy and rationale, valuation,
financial impact analysis and terms summary.
Works with university administration on joint venture projects.
Assists with the integration of the Foundation Capital Program with the University Master
Plan.
2. Participates in discussion, process and implementation as decisions require under the
direction of the Executive Director and in collaboration with the CSU Dominguez Hills
Foundation Board of Directors.
ENTERPRISE COMMERCIAL SERVICES FUNCTIONS:
Operations Director of multiple business locations including; Campus Dining Services
(Self – Operations) and (Contract Operations).
Nutrition, Food Safety and Physical Safety knowledge and oversight as it pertain to
Campus and Health Department Guidelines and Compliance.
Budget management, human resources/training and development, financial accounting
services and compliance as it pertains to Enterprise Commercial Services.
Oversees Enterprise Commercial Services facility renovations, construction projects and
equipment purchasing and maintenance. Serves as Project Manager on all Enterprise
and Commercial Projects.
Contract negotiations, campus liaison integration and relationships of Enterprise and
Commercial Services including; University Bookstore, Commercial on-Campus Banking,
Land Use and Property Management.
Provides leadership and supervision to Dining Operations Supervisors, Bookstore
Management that includes planning, budgeting, cost controls, community relationships
and marketing while recommending departmental master planning input.
Oversees and Manages Commercial Filming working with University Facilities leasing
department providing guidance and collaboration with all constituencies including;
Facilities, University Police, Parking Administration, and Risk Management.
Contract solicitation, negotiation and management in various capacities.

Serves in various leadership capacities as assigned. Currently serving as the University
President Designee, Loker Student Union Board of Directors
