Advantages Of Hybrid Vehicles
Traditional vehicles use gasoline or diesel to power a combustion engine, while hybrid vehicles use
both the traditional combustion engine and an electric motor ran on electricity. Hybrid vehicles are
superior to their conventional counterparts when it comes to fuel efficiency. Like in traditional
vehicles, the combustion motor s alternator charges the vehicle s battery. But the difference is that in
hybrid cars, there is an electric motor that can utilize the energy generated by the alternator. The
reason why hybrids are so efficient is that the alternator from the combustion engine charges the
battery which runs the electric motor. Therefore, hybrids can alternate from one energy source to the
other, cutting down the amount of fuel needed to go longer distances. Hybrids are also considered
environmentally friendly because they produce 90 percent fewer emissions than their conventional
competitors. Hybrids are also flexible when it comes to their energy source. Hybrids can be fueled like
normal cars are powered by wholly by electricity, and of course, they can use both. Moreover, ghe
electric motor is not the only aspect that contributes to hybrids fuel efficiency. The feature Idle off is
often found in Hybrid vehicles. Idle off works much like a refrigerator s light bulb when the door is
closed. When stopped, hybrid vehicles will go into idle off, turning off the combustion engine while
still powering the interior technology with the vehicle s battery, saving fuel.

Quotes About Bob Dylan
Bob Dylan (Robert Allen Zimmerman, May 24, 1941) is an American singer, songwriter, musician,
painter, and writer. He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades.
Dylan s lyrics join a range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences . The quote above
in meaning is that just by having democracy and giving the people the rights doesn t solve any issues.
People still do bad things while having democracy and they blame it on the government. There were
many people who supported the killing of the people in France because they had thought that it could
solve problems that were going on at that time and some who disagreed because violence doesn t
solve anything at all and that they took it too ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cordy s plan worked but it also failed because that did not stop the violence in the French revolution.
Corday also blamed Marat for the civil war she thought would happen in France. She believed that
Marat was bad for the future of France and that his death would stop the violence in France. She also
believed that Louis XVI should not have been executed
However, Maximilien would disagree with this quote because he believed that only democracy would
fix the government and the country. Maximilien Robespierre is one of the best known leaders of the
French Revolution. He was born in Arras, France and he went to school to become a lawyer and got
his degree at law school. He also, got elected to the Estates General to help make laws for France and
fought against the French Monarchy, the death penalty, slavery, for democratic reforms and the people
to have more power. He helped gain a reputation for defending the poor society. he was elected
president of the powerful Jacobin political faction. At first, he was against the killing of the people
because he thought it wasn t right but as the Revolution grew more and more, he started to believe that
it was out of hand to the point where nothing could be solved.
Robespierre states in his speech Virtue and Terror that If the strength of popular government in
peacetime is virtue, the strength of popular government in revolution is both virtue and terror; terror
without virtue is disastrous, virtue without terror is

The Book Of Esther And Women
Her Story: The Book of Esther and Women in the Leadership Role Women have played important
leadership roles throughout history and the biblical story of Esther is one such example. The Book of
Esther is about the fear of a feminine insurrection against patriarchal order and sacrifice within the
community. The objective of this paper is to explore how the world s view of a women s role in
leadership has evolved from the third century BCE to present day by examining the biblical
understanding of leadership regarding Esther and Vashti through a historical, literary, and
contemporary perspective.
Leadership through a historical perspective Set in the Persian Empire of King Ahasuerus (486 465
BCE), the story of Esther reveals the defenselessness of women within an already vulnerable
community of diasporic Jews (Leith, 2010, p. 709). In this society, women were the lowest members
of the community, rarely had control of their own lives, and depended on the male relatives in the
community to take care of them. Traditionally, the definition of leadership, The ability to make
strategic decisions and use communication effectively to mobilize group members toward achieving a
common goal usually describes a position held by males (Engleberg, Wynn, 2013, p. 100). However,
the leadership role can be performed by anyone willing to take on the job. It can be a matter of being
in right place at the right time, Very often, the most effective leadership occurs when a leader

Darfur Rebellion Essay
In spring 2003, the Sudanese government promised land to Arab tribes who agreed to control the
Darfur Liberation Front (DLF) rebellion. This was the foundation of the genocide. In April of 2003,
rebels from the DLF attacked the Sudanese air force base in Al Fashir. The DLF divided into two
units: the Sudan Liberation Movement/Army (SLM/A) and the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM).
In July 2003, militias were formed by nomadic Arab tribes. They were named the Janjaweed, which
means devil on horseback in Arab. The Janjaweed and the Sudanese government wreak havoc
throughout Darfur by kidnapping Darfuris, burning and looting villages, and raping and killing their
victims. In early 2004, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) makes formal refugee camps ... Show more

Even though these groups agreed to the ceasefire, there was still violence going on in Darfur. In
August 2004, 7,000 Rwandan and Nigerien peacekeeping troops are sent by the African Union
Mission in Sudan (AMIS) to work in Darfur. Around 2 million civilians were displaced in Darfur and
Chad by the end of 2004, around 100,000 were dead. On September 9, 2004, the conflict in Darfur
was declared a Genocide. Some of the other countries involved blame the Sudanese government
because they have done nothing to help the citizens of Darfur, but the UN doesn t agree. On January 9,
2005, the Sudanese government and the SPLM/A sign the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the
Second Sudanese Civil War ends. In March 2005, the people who violated the ceasefire in Darfur have
sanctions authorized against them by the UN Security Council. There were also people accused of war
crimes. These people are referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC). In June, a formal
investigation is begun, but the Sudanese government chose not to

Difference Between Capitalism And Capitalism
1)Capitalism is an economic system that supports individual ownership of property and the production
of goods and services for private gain. This system is often guided by the forces of demand and supply
which implies minimal government intervention.Capitalist mode of production according to Marx is
the product of the industrial revolution and the division of labor coming from it .In Marx s capitalism
division of labor is necessary for production. This division affects the working class in such way
according to Marx that they become crippled beings .It is through this process of becoming crippled
that they experience what is called acute alienation .Alienation in a capitalist society is when the
workers divide from their humanity because the worker can only express themselves through
labour. Each worker becomes an instrument,a thing, and not a person in the eyes of capitalism.Under
Marx s capitalist reality, the division of labor is a necessary condition for commodity production .This
division attacks the working class at the root of their life.In fact according to Marx the alienation
mentioned earlier has several dimensions. The first being the worker becoming estranged and not only
from the products of his or her labor but also from the production of his or her labor.Second being the
workers activities belonging to the capitalist and the translation of this into the loss of the workers
self.Which essentially means he or she enstraging his or herself from themselves

My First Love Essay
Everyone loves to tell the story of their first love, and the beautiful lesson they learned through the
adventure. You hear the phrase, you ll never forget your first as you see a small smirk flourish across
the faces of people who remember their story. Through all the experiences shared, I never would have
believed the result of falling out of love. All of the novels and sweet smiles never hinted about the
time I would end up crumbled down on my bedroom s floor, with two years of a person s presence
surrounding a broken heart. Nobody will speak of watching your first love leave for college, knowing
that they will want to move on. I went through the stages of heartbreak that left me with a cracked and
bruised heart. The recovery and journey of finding acceptance and love for myself, created a book of
my personal lessons. Going back to that summer is like reading the final book of your favorite series,
you soak in the words trying to read slow, savoring. Completing the series leaves a bitter sweet
moment, comparing to the emotions that overcame my mind through the process of watching him go.
However, it was not beautiful and bittersweet as romance novels paint your first love out to be. Each
page in our novel transformed from love to a war zone, as loyalty became nonexistent, and trust only
present in waves. The summer was beautiful, but in my heart I knew that this novel was only a fairy
tale coming to it s end. There was nothing left to be painted. That hot and humid

John Millington Synge was born in Newtown Villas, Rathfarnham,County Dublin on 16 April
1871.Synge s plays helped to set the dominant style of plays at the Abbey Theatre until the 1940s.His
literary pieces were quite controversial and had its fair share of critics. This play explores the story of
Maurya and her family. Her husband and her sons had been victims to the sea s rage.Synge s work
looks at the prominent pagan rituals of the islanders contrasted with Catholic beliefs .Synge s work
draws inspiration from the countryside as he spent a substantive part of this time in Aran
Islands.Synge went to these islands at the suggestion of W.B. Yeats and spent a long time there,
studying the lives of the islanders and making a note of the language spoken by them. While on the
Aran island of Inishmaan, Synge heard the story of a man from Inishmaan whose body washed up on
the shore of the island of Donegal, which inspired Riders to the Sea. riderstotheseasiteMarch 3, 2016

Superstitions and fatalistic ideas are mainly explored in the play.
The play also talks about how the ideas of the islanders were quite conventional and outdated.

Persuasive Essay On Seat Belt Safety
On April 15th, 2017, a student rolled his car two and half times, the car was totaled. The student
walked away without a scratch on him due to the fact that he was wearing a seatbelt. That student was
me. The act of putting your seat belt into the buckle of your seat takes a mere two seconds. Two
seconds is obviously a small price to pay if the cost could potentially be your entire life. When drivers
and passengers are involved in car accidents, they are more likely to survive if they are wearing a
seatbelt. Seat belts save lives as well as they often prevent major injuries. When involved in a serious
car accident, seat belts have proven to be effective in saving lives and preventing injury. When
involved in a car accident, passengers in the car are subject to concussion, ejection, paralyzation, or
even death. Seat belts strap a passenger into their seat in the car, this prevents ejection from the
vehicle. 75% of people who are ejected from their vehicles die from impact or related injuries (CDC).
This incredibly high statistic proves the effectiveness of seatbelts holding you into the car and
preventing death by ejection. In addition to this, the US Department of Transportation states that
88.5% of people used seat belts in 2016 (US Department of Transportation). This number is up 7%
from 81.2% in 2006, meaning drivers and passengers alike are realizing the necessity of wearing a
seatbelt. The increased use of seat belts is likely due to scare tactics used by law

The Field Of Physical Therapy
The day to day writing in the field of Physical Therapy varies depending on the audience. The
audience determines the purpose of the writing and writing style. Physical Therapists (PT) use
evidence based exercises and activities to rehabilitate their patients in order for them to reach their
unique goal. Since PT s work with both medical professionals and patients, they must adjust their
writing to be able to communicate effectively. PT s are just one of the many people in the medical
field that may work with a particular patient so it is important that the communication between the
different layers of the medical field are precise and clear. Writing to a patient is also important because

The main audience a PT is writing to are people who have extensive understanding or are in the field.
Their purpose is to use that information for billing and to help make medical decisions which both
greatly impact the patient. Due to the potential impact of their understanding of the PT s writing, the
writing must be specific, descriptive, and contain jargon. A specific documentation layout named
SOAP was created for PT s to use to make sure all essential information is gathered. All PT s follow
the SOAP note format to document patient visits. SOAP notes were created to help keep consistency
through the field and to keep patient records organized and secure. SOAP notes are written to help the
PT critically think about the next step in their client s rehabilitation process. The format is used to
communicate information to other providers of care, to provide evidence of patient contact and to
inform the Clinical Reasoning process (Lowe SOAP Notes ). SOAP documentations aid in informing
and proving PT s work. The content is straight to the point and remains strictly factual which causes
shorter sentences. SOAP stands for subjective, objective, assessment, and plan (Lowe SOAP Notes ).
Each section aides in formulating an evaluation of the client s visit. A PT uses APA citation if they

Emily Dickinson
Emily Dickinson Emily Dickinson is one of America s greatest poets, her work was original and
unique, and the speakers in her poem would often express what limitations they saw in their society
and how they wish they could escape it. Although Dickinson became a famous poet, she didn t want
her work published, during her lifetime other people would have some of her poems published. The
poems that were published were considered to be eccentric and were altered significantly by
publishers. Dickinson often wrote about the idea of being famous and how much she would dread it if
she ever did become famous because she felt that it wouldn t allow her to stay true to herself. Upon
her death thousands of poems were discovered by her family and were eventually published, these
poems are what cemented her legacy as one of the greatest poets to ever live. Emily Dickinson was
born in 1830 to a prominent family, her father was a well respected lawyer. Dickinson was well
educated, she had attended school from a very young age and also attended Amherst Academy, her
father wanted his children to be well educated and he reminded them to pay attention in school and
learn as much as possible. At age 15 Dickinson left the academy and began to attend Mount Holyoke
Female Seminary but after a year she left and went back home, nobody knows why she left but some
believe this was the beginning of her reclusiveness. From an early age Dickinson began to write and
some of her influences included her principal and a friend who was an attorney that worked with her
father. In addition, one day during a trip to Philadelphia she befriended a minister who also became a
great influence, she would correspond with him, often writing letter just like she would with everyone
else. Dickinson also experienced many deaths of friends that affected her profoundly and it caused her
to become depressed, sometimes expressing it in her writings. In addition, she would often express
herself in statements to others not being able to understand why those close to her were constantly
dying, she also expressed her depression, and she even wondered if she should die too, it is believe
that these tragedies are also the reason for her reclusiveness. Emily Dickinson

Increasing Faculty Resistance And General Education...
Decreasing Faculty Resistance to General Education Assessment The assessment of general education
courses within the realm of higher education has been a topic of concern and some contention as
external regulatory bodies, accrediting agencies, and donors have become increasingly interested in
seeing quantifiable results from these courses. While universities strive to maintain effective
assessment of their programs, one area that consistently falls by the wayside is the assessment of
general education courses. These courses have been difficult for many universities to effectively
assess due to a multitude of reasons, ranging from the large number of general education courses
offered, to a lack of support and cohesion on the part of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The anticipated outcome of the study will be a decrease in faculty resistance to assessment efforts in
general education courses.
Friedman Stone (2002) highlight an issue on this topic: that colleges and departments are receiving
pressure, both externally, from regulatory and accrediting bodies, and internally, from board members
and upper administration, to expand upon general education assessment efforts (Friedman Stone,
2002). This pressure is falling on the faculty who teach these courses. The faculty, in turn, are resistant
to administrative efforts to dictate what, if any, assessments are being given in their classes. Although
Friedman Stone address this resistance, more research must be done on how to effectively overcome
it. In another article, Banta et Al. (1993), stated that, there is tension between the two principle
purposes of assessment: demonstrating accountability and improving curricula, instruction, and
student services. Governing and accrediting bodies are more concerned with demonstrating
accountability since the stipulations of their investment in a university are measured through
quantifiable program benchmarks. However, the teaching faculty value assessment in terms of
curriculum improvement and as a way to refine instructional methodology. Banta et Al s quote
highlights this disconnect. According to another article published by Kramer (2006) the tension

Analysis Of Where Have All The Flowers Gone
Where Have All the Flowers Gone
Where did Seeger s song come from? Are the words even his or did he read them in a book a long
time ago? Did he steal the melody? It might be from a railroad song. Many questions surround this
song as the research will show.
Where Have All the Flowers Gone was originally written by Pete Seeger. He took words from the
book And Quiet Flows the Don by Mikhail Sholokhovl, in which Czarist Russia soldiers sang while
riding to join the army. He added a few lines changing the mood from semi mocking to melancholy.
He gave it a melody. His version originally only had the first three verses. Joe Hickerson, a camp
counselor, heard Seeger perform in 1955 and later added two more verses and a rhythm to the song.
Seeger gave him a percentage of the royalties for his contributions and writing credit. The resulting
song is a haunting narrative of the futility and endlessness of the peace war peace cycle. Seeger
included it in 1960 on his The Rainbow Quest album (Hutchinson).
There have been several controversies alluding to plagiarism but by other artists and Seeger himself.
Attempts have been made to clear these up. Since Seeger spoke of one in the 2006 documentary about
the KT 50 Years Of Having Fun and a major information website published the other it has been
difficult for those seeking the truth behind them (Moran).
One of the many controversies surrounding the song is that Kingston Trio heard Peter, Paul and Mary
perform the song 1961 and,

English Architecture Style
For hundreds of years, architecture has been around. It brought culture to many countries and people.
Architecture from the Renaissance brought many styles and techniques that still exist today. The
layout of a house, could have even saved lives! The Renaissance set many standards for architecture,
making it a sign for for power and wealth.
English Architecture was influenced from many other countries. The trend of architecture started in
Italy and traveled to other countries. It had been Julius II s aim, and that of his successors Leo X and
Clement VII, to remake the city into an imposing showpiece that celebrated Rome as the very center
of the Christian world. Soon many artists from Italy left, going to other countries such as France and
England, and brought their artistic style. Rome set the scale for what architecture should be anywhere
( Overview of Architecture and Design ).
England took inspiration from Italian architecture and put their own twist on it, making it a more
gothic style. The gothic style of architecture became popular and became the new standard. Gothic
architecture embraced a highly ornate and decorative style, with highly elaborate piers and vaulted
ceilings being among its most distinctive elements. Also there were more churches, bigger and better
every time due to the growing competition in the Catholic and Protestant religions. ( Overview of
Architecture and Design ).

Active learning strategies consist of a large and different variety of activities that share the common
factors of involving students in thinking about the knowledge and information they are doing
(Bonwell Eison 1991). These strategies are used to engage students in critical thinking,
communication with peers, expressing ideas, exploring their own attitudes and values, giving and
receiving feedback, and reflecting on the learning process. These strategies are done with the students

In my grade3 class, I use the Pair Share and the Close Reading strategies, I read about these strategies
before, and now I am applying them in my class. The Pair Share Strategy is one of the ways that let
students talk about an issue or topic in class is to use the think/write pair share method. (Lyman,
1992). In this strategy, I present a problem in the class and then give students 30 seconds to one
minute to think about or write out their response. Then, the students pair up and explain their
responses to one another for 3 to 5 minutes. Finally, the results are discussed, this technique takes only
about 4 to 6 minutes of class time, and it could be done once in each class session. This strategy has
worked successfully in my English class, where I introduced a topic about Community Service I asked
my students to think about the role of community service work then I asked them individually about
their decision and choices about doing a community service work. The class was asked to do
community service work and students who changed their ideas and thoughts about it are asked why
they did so. The Close Reading Strategy improves reading comprehension and provides engagement
in the subject (Bass Linkon, 2009). In class, I model how to read and interpret a passage while the
students follow in their books. After that, some students may be called individually to read aloud and
interpret similar selections. After reading passages of a story, students will be divided into groups of
three or two and be asked to talk about and decide what the selection means, and then paraphrasing it
in their own words. I will ask the groups to give their interpretations and analysis before providing my
analysis. This technique worked well with grade 3 students, where they had to do this strategy every
time we start a new reading

Adaptations Are Much More Than A Mere Visual Illustration
Contrary to the general public s belief, adaptations are much more than a mere visual illustration of a
novel. When adapting a literary work, the screenwriter s integrity towards the author is highly crucial
to prevent a disagreement, which could lead to a copyright infringement. This will also ensure the
audience s approval because the screenplay s plot is less likely to deviate from the author s
fundamental storyline in the original work. Furthermore, adapting a literary work into a screenplay
consist of a very rigorous filtering process that is often challenging for the screenwriter. The
screenwriter often faces dilemmas in which the decisions to omit or heighten certain aspects could

Augmented Reality And Its Reality
1.0 Introduction
1.1 Introduction to Augmented Reality
Augmented Reality is the primary technology that is utilized in this project. The functionality of the
application is based on Augmented Reality. Augmented Reality is an integration of the physical world
along with the virtual world. Most of the people confuse Augmented Reality with Virtual Reality, but
virtual reality is the simulation of the physical world in a virtual world. There is quite a difference like
in acting a movie and watching a movie. The advantages of Augmented Reality is it minimizes the
user interaction and maximizes the user experience. The usage scope of the Augmented Reality
becomes exponential when it is combined with other technologies like Internet of Things or Artificial
Intelligence. All these technologies if combined to make an application that is helpful for the daily
needs of the users, then it becomes part of the technology revolution. The main idea of the use of
Augmented Reality in this application is to let the users identify the objects using mobile phone.
Human cognition is quite intelligent in identifying objects that they see daily. But, the same has to be
achieved by the mobile phone. Being a tedious task, the mobile phone has to be trained in such a way
that it can identify the basic objects using certain properties like the barcode, logos, labels or the brand
images. The purpose of training the mobile phone can be achieved by the intelligent use of the
artificial intelligence

Essay on Falstaff in Henry IV Part I
The Character of Falstaff in Henry IV Part I
In Henry IV Part I, Shakespeare presents a collection of traditional heroes. Hotspur s laudable valor,
King Henry s militaristic reign, and Hal s princely transformation echo the socially extolled values of
the Elizabethean male. Molding themselves after societal standards, these flat characters contrast Sir
John Falstaff s round, spirited personality. Through Falstaff s unorthodox behavior and flagrant

But Falstaff s heavily charged.. magnetism..and wit (Stoll 485), surpasses the unpropitious symbol

the most fascinating characters in literature (Wilson 11) have been bewitched by the old rascal
[Falstaff]...and have contracted the disease of not listening to the play (Wilson 11), other
commentators such as Rupin W. Desai, William Hazlitt, and Harold Bloom believe Falstaff typifies all
that we long to be and are not: free (Goddart 75). Falstaff s jocular nature and piercing insults

Of all the characters in Part I of Henry IV, Falstaff alone changes and develops (Desai 15). Whereas
King Henry IV remains guilt ridden, Hotspur s passion for honour, reputation, and chivalry blinds him

Discipline Models Of The Assertive Discipline Model
3. Using the discipline models presented in this chapter, which one or combination of models best fits
your personality and your own belief about discipline? Explain why this is so. I believe I would use a
combination of two discipline models, assertive and positive. I would utilize all five steps of the
assertive discipline model, yet modifying it a bit. Additionally,I would use certain aspects of Positive
Discipline Model.
Assertive Model
Step 1: Develop Positive Student Teacher Relationship
Step 2: Set Clear Rules and Expectations
Step 3: Monitor and Rack Inappropriate Behaviors
Step 4: Use Punishment When Rules Are Broken
Step 5: Use Rewards for Appropriate Behaviors
Step 5: Get The Parents on Side
I would also use positive model steps 1, checking frequently, especially at the beginning of the year,
that students know what is expected of them after setting clear rules and expectation. I would modify
the assertive model once again by using positive model step two, exploring between sets three and
four of the assertive model. I believe students learn from making independent decisions, some of
which may lead to mistakes. Mistakes can be a learning experience and are ok. I would also use
positive model step 4, celebrating student s positive actions and decisions between assertive model
steps 4 and 5. Positive reinforcement would be a reward system I would go to first and use most
frequently. Finally, I would adopt positive model step 5, respecting students. I

Summary Of The Poem Alone By Edgar Allen Poe
The poem Alone by Edgar Allen Poe is a flashback of the narrator s childhood. Edgar Allen Poe uses
various literary devices to create the loneliness felt by the narrator. The narrator uses a dark and
gloomy tone to describe his childhood, words such as sorrow, alone, stormy, thunder, and gloomy are
used to set up the tone of loneliness. The poem is what is referred to as a closed poem; this is evident
by the AABB scheme used in the poem. The poem seems to follow an eight syllable rule per line. The
use of eight syllables per line allows Edgar Allen Poe to create his closed poem. Through the use of a
gloomy tone, the narrator can describe how as a child he s always felt alone and continues to feel so.
In his twenty two line poem, Edgar Allen Poe uses eleven sets of rhyming couplets and an
AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHIIJJKKLL rhyming scheme. The use of rhyming couplets and a different
rhyme following each couplet allow Poe to create a suspenseful and foreboding effect. The first
couplet From childhood s hour I have not been/ As others were I have not seen set out the theme of the
poem, that being that the narrator wasn t like other children. Poe s use of diction is evident with the
use of the word seen. the narrator did not see what many children saw, Poe s use of the word seen
connects the narrator s senses of feel and sight. The narrator seems to feel as if he s different than
others due to his inability to see what they saw. However, he fails to realize that despite possibly
experiencing the same thing they experienced he could still be different than others due to the way he
feels about what he saw and experienced. In line four My passions from a common spring the word
spring could be both a symbol and a metaphor used by Poe. The word spring could refer to how the
narrator didn t have a certain source to vent out his emotions to, perhaps a lack of a type of
relationship with his family or a lack of friends. This lack of spring by the narrator has contributed to
his sense of loneliness, thus continuing the overall theme. Lines five through eight create a bigger
theme of the poem, the poet doesn t feel sorrow simply because he experiences something different
than others but rather how he feels and

Discursive Practices and Gendered Reflections of Its Use
Introduction
The following theoretical framework is divided in five sections. The first one deals with the
background to the study where a classification of research studies is done in terms of the way that
language and discourse have been researched. The second part reflects the issue of gender in applied
linguistics. The third tackles some key conceptualizations of literacy in terms of the research study.
The fourth aims to explain how writing is undertaken to fulfill a brief description of the basis that
underlies the study. Within it, it is explained the write to learn perspective that is the scope of the
investigation.
Background to the study
Bucholtz (2003) asserts that discourse is language in context. Discourse enables establishing the
existing relationship between language and gender within a given context. Then, discourse becomes
the materialization of such a relationship. That is why discourse analysis has become one of the most
outstanding methodologies to unravel gender issues within the EFL classroom.
The foci of these studies have been the way the discursive practices are used and what gendered
reflections this use shows. Some of these studies stress discourse as an anthropological tradition
(Bucholtz, 2003). This point of view highlights how language is used in the cultural practices of the
human beings. It also cares for the existing differences between men and women; but most
importantly the closed relationship between culture and language use Explain

Abuse Of Zoos For Animals
Zoos are Internment Camps for Animals As claimed in the LCA article, Animals in zoos are forced to
live in artificial, stressful, and downright boring conditions (User, Super). Evidence shows time to
time that animals are being affected by zoos. There are many things hidden behind the facilities, that
many people do not know about. The animals are being held in conditions that no animal should ever
live in. Even though some zoos do focus on helping the animals, they are not as beneficial to the
animal because they are not provided with the proper care and attention they need and zoos do not try
to fix their problems. Many zoo animals are not provided with the sufficient care and attention. There
have been various reports of abuse and neglection toward the animals. In some cases people were able
to capture videos of these terrible actions, and were able to use them as evidence to show the
authorities and audience who are not aware of these atrocious events occurring. In the
article,Undercover Investigations Reveal Abuse of Tiger Cubs at Roadside Zoos, the author revealed
the different ways the owners of a roadside zoo would abuse the tiger cubs. For example, At Tiger

Brave New World, And 1984 Replace The Existence Of God
Throughout history, most religions have created a belief system where people are free to worship and
praise God s existence, as well as acknowledge that they are constantly being watched by him. This
confidence in God creates a sense of security and hope for the community that there is a purpose for
their existence, and the world does not come to a tragic end after death. Yevgeny Zamyatin, Aldous
Huxley, and George Orwell, authors of WE, Brave New World, and 1984 replace the existence of God
with leaders or objects that symbolize their new God . Although the concepts of adoration and
complete omniscience are still relevant throughout these novels, the God s created are merely based
off of the governments beliefs and tactics. In these novels, the faces of God are simply the government
in disguise; giving the people a sense of comfort by seeing intangible figures and faces, parallel to
their old Gods. There is an innate inclination to believe in something larger than oneself, hence why
the people are forced to believe in these government aliases. In each of the novels, the authors develop
governments that create belief systems to match up with their ultimate goals, as well as to execute
control, thereby keeping themselves in the seat of absolute power. In WE, Zamyatin creates a society
known as One State that revolves not around the individual, but around the collective we, with the
Benefactor in God like status at the center. The Benefactor possesses qualities that the

A Baptist member, and social activist, by the name of Martin Luther King Jr., played a very important
role in the Civil Rights Movement. He began playing his role in the mid 1950 s until he was later

also fought for the right to vote and for the victims of unfairness all through peaceful protesting. He
had a splendid speaking ability, which allowed him to reveal the demands of African Americans for
social justice. King s fluent appeal won the support of billons of people, black and white, which made
him famous. In 1964 he won the Nobel Peace Prize for leading nonviolent civil rights affirmation.

Thus, an employer violates Title VII when the workplace is filled with discriminatory sex based
intimidation, ridicule, and insult that is sufficiently severe or pervasive to alter the conditions of the

whether a work environment is sufficiently hostile by looking at all the circumstances, including the

work performance. It is established that simple teasing, offhand comments, and isolated incidents will
not amount to discriminatory changes in the terms and conditions of employment. Title VII is not

Hollow Men Critical Analysis
Eliot s Hollow Men: A Depiction of Human Weakness
Analysis of desperation and man s weakness projects throughout the poem The Hollow Men. As the
focus of the author, he succeeds in depicting and registering the mood of personal weakness. Through
reading the poem, there is an air of despair, weakness, and disappointment. It is imperative to
acknowledge that the poem presents an order of events that are effective towards the depiction of
human weakness. For example, weakness is shown when the men are trapped in the desert in a given
bank of a river that is daunting to cross. The odd troubles of their current predicament describe to
perpetuate human weakness. This paper will evaluate human weakness as propagated by the poem,
The Hollow Men.
Is it like this, in death s other kingdom, waking alone is an important quote that depicts human
weakness in the face of various fears (Bush 20). For example, weaknesses express itself through the
curiosity of the characters as to whether or not heaven is as bad as their current environment.
Specifically, the notion of loneliness is evident in the quote as an important aspect circumventing
human weakness. Isolation is one of the feelings that follow. As such Sangi, Soomro, and Gopang

strength, determination and moral strength (473). Accordingly, in line with the heading, people behave

A person s criminal activity can begin later in life and driving forces are swayed by various life
circumstances.
This theory includes different classes and types of criminals. It is a combination of latent trait theory
and life course theory which helps explain that there are different paths and classes of offenders. The
external force, in this case, a mistress, would be the trajectory. Working in combination with his bad
temper, arousal theory influenced the criminal behavior. This theory might not fully support his
motives if he didn t have a mistress or seeking financial gain. If no outside forces compelled him to

Arousal Theory
This theory combines genetic and environmental reasons as to the reasons how a brain processes
environmental stimulation differently, the response varies for each person. His inability to control
anger combined with his desire to be with another woman, and a possible sizeable financial gain,
influenced intentions. He had deep seated resentment towards his wife and the tension was building

First movement of Beethoven s symphony No. 3 Eroica Beethoven s Symphony No.3 also known as
the Eroica consists of four parts, namely, allegro con brio, adagio assai, scherzo and allegro, which is
the standard structure of a symphony. In this work, the analysis focuses on the first movement so as to
show how Beethoven enriched symphony. The first movement has a distinctive sonority and texture. It
is considerably long as it takes about 14 minutes (it may depend on the version). Some complete
symphonies from the classical period are about the same length as this first movement, so Beethoven s

The resonant sound of brass generates some tension in the form of dissonant chords. The combination
of unusual sounds, vivid dynamics and rhythm changes, are incorporated in the symphony by
Beethoven. However there is more as the first movement goes on. Beethoven uses a minor key for a
short passage. The agitated sound of strings adds some tension and drama in the movement, which is
finally resolved by the woodwinds. The clarinet and flute return music to a major key and a state of
calm. The minor passage is a new concept which stands out the traditional symphony. It adds a
different texture that clearly departs from the leading motive. This brief minor passage is also repeated
so it may be thought of as a second motive. Another striking quality of this first movement is the use
of a set of chords played by the whole orchestra. It serves as a bridge to connect the major and minor
motives. Towards the end of the first movement, there is a brief passage embellished by the strings
while the horns and trumpets remind us the sounds of the leading motive. The lively sound is
interrupted by a brief minor passage. Then, the leading motive is repeated by the clarinet and flute.
Strong and bright sounds prepare the audience to the conclusion of the first movement. One can
conclude that Beethoven s unique expressiveness and passion are reflected in every note of the Eroica

I believe that the use of Marijuana should be legalised. I believe this because if a drug is needed to
help save or improve someone with a specific illness then who are we as a nation to deprive them of

basic contention is that something that has been found to be safe in a reliable jurisdiction, should not
have to be tested any further. Health benefits consist of lowing tumour growth and easing glaucoma,
and it s safer than the 25 legal drugs, substances, and even household products! 85% of more than

their business is going to progress very rapidly as compare to any other business. The perception in
simpler words is completely wrong.
First thing while starting a business is not the company registration, the first thing to focus on is to
have a workable business plan and idea that in your perception has enough strength to earn you
sufficient income as per your plan.

Allende and Peter Winn s Weavers of Revolution Essay
Allende and Peter Winn s Weavers of Revolution
In Peter Winn s Weavers of Revolution, a factory in Santiago, Chile fights for their independence
against the Chilean government of the 1970 s. While this rebellion is going on, presidential elections
are taking place and Salvador Allende is the presidential candidate which represents the common
people. The relation between Allende and the people he represents is a unique one because at first this
class, the working class, helps and supports Allende to become president, but then both parties realize
their different plans for the future and the working class actually contributes to the downfall of
Allende s presidency. At first, the working class heavily supported Allende s campaign. A ... Show

Allende based his campaign around the unfairness of Chile s society to the working class, and the
Yarur factory gave him the support he needed to win the election. Once Allende becomes elected, the
two revolutions which were supposed to compliment each other actually start to work against each
other. The first type of revolution is the revolution from below , which is characteristic of the workers
in the Yarur rebelling against the Chilean government. The other type is the revolution from above ,
this was the revolution common of the higher class like Allende working towards workers rights. At
first, the workers think that their revolution from below was only helping Allende s revolution from
above. The workers did things like form unions for the first time, or were even so bold to strike
against the mill in order to gain complete control over it. Strikes had happened before which were
about things like wages or unions, but this was different for the fact that they wanted total control of
the mill. Allende was forced to give the workers the power to control the mill. This is just one of the
examples of how the revolution from below sometimes coincided with or complemented, but
increasingly diverged from, the legalistic and modulated revolution from above (141). For the most
part in fact, the strategies of Allende were disrupted by the revolution from below because of their
need for extreme

What Is The Charlottetown Conference
The Charlottetown Conference was held in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island for representatives
from the colonies of British North America to discuss Canadian Confederation. The conference took
place between September 1 through 7, 1864. The conference had been planned as a meeting of
representatives from the Maritime colonies: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
Newfoundland agreed with the movement, but was not notified in time to take part in the proceedings.
[1] Britain encouraged a Maritime Union between these colonies, hoping that they would then become
less economically and politically dependent on the Crown, and provide for greater economic and
military power for the region in light of the American Civil War. However,

Abstract
Loss of valuable resources in terms of energy and materials are known as waste. Industrial wastes are
generally materialistic, including waste water and different chemicals.
Among all the industries, chemical industry is known as most polluted sector. The main problem lays
in the fact that the cost of raw materials and disposal of wastes are underestimated. In consequence,
there are usually no economic incentives to develop waste free processes.
In general, chemical industry is still not keen to alter chemical products and processes and prefers to
deal with waste end of pipe. Recycling and waste prevention together is a very effective policy to
solve the environmental problem in the chemical sector. Prevention of waste is meant by use of
minimum waste at the source and also reduction in the use of raw materials and energy. Waste
dumping standards accepted by industry is most important. Industry seems to assume that waste
minimization means only the reduction of the amount of waste sent to landfill, thus any kind of
activity, especially off site utilization and incineration, is seen as waste minimization. An
Environmental administrator, who would like to implement standards of waste

  • 2. Advantages Of Hybrid Vehicles Traditional vehicles use gasoline or diesel to power a combustion engine, while hybrid vehicles use both the traditional combustion engine and an electric motor ran on electricity. Hybrid vehicles are superior to their conventional counterparts when it comes to fuel efficiency. Like in traditional vehicles, the combustion motor s alternator charges the vehicle s battery. But the difference is that in hybrid cars, there is an electric motor that can utilize the energy generated by the alternator. The reason why hybrids are so efficient is that the alternator from the combustion engine charges the battery which runs the electric motor. Therefore, hybrids can alternate from one energy source to the other, cutting down the amount of fuel needed to go longer distances. Hybrids are also considered environmentally friendly because they produce 90 percent fewer emissions than their conventional competitors. Hybrids are also flexible when it comes to their energy source. Hybrids can be fueled like normal cars are powered by wholly by electricity, and of course, they can use both. Moreover, ghe electric motor is not the only aspect that contributes to hybrids fuel efficiency. The feature Idle off is often found in Hybrid vehicles. Idle off works much like a refrigerator s light bulb when the door is closed. When stopped, hybrid vehicles will go into idle off, turning off the combustion engine while still powering the interior technology with the vehicle s battery, saving fuel. ... He has been influential in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Dylan s lyrics join a range of political, social, philosophical, and literary influences . The quote above in meaning is that just by having democracy and giving the people the rights doesn t solve any issues. People still do bad things while having democracy and they blame it on the government. There were many people who supported the killing of the people in France because they had thought that it could solve problems that were going on at that time and some who disagreed because violence doesn t solve anything at all and that they took it too ... Corday also blamed Marat for the civil war she thought would happen in France. She believed that Marat was bad for the future of France and that his death would stop the violence in France. She also believed that Louis XVI should not have been executed However, Maximilien would disagree with this quote because he believed that only democracy would fix the government and the country. Maximilien Robespierre is one of the best known leaders of the French Revolution. He was born in Arras, France and he went to school to become a lawyer and got his degree at law school. He also, got elected to the Estates General to help make laws for France and fought against the French Monarchy, the death penalty, slavery, for democratic reforms and the people to have more power. He helped gain a reputation for defending the poor society. he was elected president of the powerful Jacobin political faction. At first, he was against the killing of the people because he thought it wasn t right but as the Revolution grew more and more, he started to believe that it was out of hand to the point where nothing could be solved. • 4. The Book Of Esther And Women Her Story: The Book of Esther and Women in the Leadership Role Women have played important leadership roles throughout history and the biblical story of Esther is one such example. The Book of Esther is about the fear of a feminine insurrection against patriarchal order and sacrifice within the community. The objective of this paper is to explore how the world s view of a women s role in leadership has evolved from the third century BCE to present day by examining the biblical understanding of leadership regarding Esther and Vashti through a historical, literary, and contemporary perspective. Leadership through a historical perspective Set in the Persian Empire of King Ahasuerus (486 465 BCE), the story of Esther reveals the defenselessness of women within an already vulnerable community of diasporic Jews (Leith, 2010, p. 709). In this society, women were the lowest members of the community, rarely had control of their own lives, and depended on the male relatives in the community to take care of them. Traditionally, the definition of leadership, The ability to make strategic decisions and use communication effectively to mobilize group members toward achieving a common goal usually describes a position held by males (Engleberg, Wynn, 2013, p. 100). However, the leadership role can be performed by anyone willing to take on the job. It can be a matter of being in right place at the right time, Very often, the most effective leadership occurs when a leader ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All of the novels and sweet smiles never hinted about the time I would end up crumbled down on my bedroom s floor, with two years of a person s presence surrounding a broken heart. Nobody will speak of watching your first love leave for college, knowing that they will want to move on. I went through the stages of heartbreak that left me with a cracked and bruised heart. The recovery and journey of finding acceptance and love for myself, created a book of my personal lessons. The student walked away without a scratch on him due to the fact that he was wearing a seatbelt. That student was me. The act of putting your seat belt into the buckle of your seat takes a mere two seconds. Two seconds is obviously a small price to pay if the cost could potentially be your entire life. When drivers and passengers are involved in car accidents, they are more likely to survive if they are wearing a seatbelt. Seat belts save lives as well as they often prevent major injuries. When involved in a serious car accident, seat belts have proven to be effective in saving lives and preventing injury. When involved in a car accident, passengers in the car are subject to concussion, ejection, paralyzation, or even death. Seat belts strap a passenger into their seat in the car, this prevents ejection from the vehicle. 75% of people who are ejected from their vehicles die from impact or related injuries (CDC). This incredibly high statistic proves the effectiveness of seatbelts holding you into the car and preventing death by ejection. In addition to this, the US Department of Transportation states that 88.5% of people used seat belts in 2016 (US Department of Transportation). Emily Dickinson Emily Dickinson Emily Dickinson is one of America s greatest poets, her work was original and unique, and the speakers in her poem would often express what limitations they saw in their society and how they wish they could escape it. Although Dickinson became a famous poet, she didn t want her work published, during her lifetime other people would have some of her poems published. The poems that were published were considered to be eccentric and were altered significantly by publishers. Dickinson often wrote about the idea of being famous and how much she would dread it if she ever did become famous because she felt that it wouldn t allow her to stay true to herself. Upon her death thousands of poems were discovered by her family and were eventually published, these poems are what cemented her legacy as one of the greatest poets to ever live. Emily Dickinson was born in 1830 to a prominent family, her father was a well respected lawyer. Dickinson was well educated, she had attended school from a very young age and also attended Amherst Academy, her father wanted his children to be well educated and he reminded them to pay attention in school and learn as much as possible. At age 15 Dickinson left the academy and began to attend Mount Holyoke Female Seminary but after a year she left and went back home, nobody knows why she left but some believe this was the beginning of her reclusiveness. From an early age Dickinson began to write and some of her influences included her principal and a friend who was an attorney that worked with her father. In addition, one day during a trip to Philadelphia she befriended a minister who also became a great influence, she would correspond with him, often writing letter just like she would with everyone else. Dickinson also experienced many deaths of friends that affected her profoundly and it caused her to become depressed, sometimes expressing it in her writings. In addition, she would often express herself in statements to others not being able to understand why those close to her were constantly dying, she also expressed her depression, and she even wondered if she should die too, it is believe that these tragedies are also the reason for her reclusiveness. Decreasing Faculty Resistance to General Education Assessment The assessment of general education courses within the realm of higher education has been a topic of concern and some contention as external regulatory bodies, accrediting agencies, and donors have become increasingly interested in seeing quantifiable results from these courses. While universities strive to maintain effective assessment of their programs, one area that consistently falls by the wayside is the assessment of general education courses. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The anticipated outcome of the study will be a decrease in faculty resistance to assessment efforts in general education courses. Friedman Stone (2002) highlight an issue on this topic: that colleges and departments are receiving pressure, both externally, from regulatory and accrediting bodies, and internally, from board members and upper administration, to expand upon general education assessment efforts (Friedman Stone, 2002). This pressure is falling on the faculty who teach these courses. The faculty, in turn, are resistant to administrative efforts to dictate what, if any, assessments are being given in their classes. Although Friedman Stone address this resistance, more research must be done on how to effectively overcome it. In another article, Banta et Al. (1993), stated that, there is tension between the two principle purposes of assessment: demonstrating accountability and improving curricula, instruction, and student services. Governing and accrediting bodies are more concerned with demonstrating accountability since the stipulations of their investment in a university are measured through quantifiable program benchmarks. However, the teaching faculty value assessment in terms of curriculum improvement and as a way to refine instructional methodology. Banta et Al s quote highlights this disconnect. • 14. Analysis Of Where Have All The Flowers Gone Where Have All the Flowers Gone Where did Seeger s song come from? Are the words even his or did he read them in a book a long time ago? Did he steal the melody? It might be from a railroad song. Many questions surround this song as the research will show. Where Have All the Flowers Gone was originally written by Pete Seeger. He took words from the book And Quiet Flows the Don by Mikhail Sholokhovl, in which Czarist Russia soldiers sang while riding to join the army. He added a few lines changing the mood from semi mocking to melancholy. He gave it a melody. His version originally only had the first three verses. Joe Hickerson, a camp counselor, heard Seeger perform in 1955 and later added two more verses and a rhythm to the song. Seeger gave him a percentage of the royalties for his contributions and writing credit. The resulting song is a haunting narrative of the futility and endlessness of the peace war peace cycle. Seeger included it in 1960 on his The Rainbow Quest album (Hutchinson). There have been several controversies alluding to plagiarism but by other artists and Seeger himself. Attempts have been made to clear these up. Since Seeger spoke of one in the 2006 documentary about the KT 50 Years Of Having Fun and a major information website published the other it has been difficult for those seeking the truth behind them (Moran). The Renaissance set many standards for architecture, making it a sign for for power and wealth. English Architecture was influenced from many other countries. The trend of architecture started in Italy and traveled to other countries. It had been Julius II s aim, and that of his successors Leo X and Clement VII, to remake the city into an imposing showpiece that celebrated Rome as the very center of the Christian world. Soon many artists from Italy left, going to other countries such as France and England, and brought their artistic style. Rome set the scale for what architecture should be anywhere ( Overview of Architecture and Design ). England took inspiration from Italian architecture and put their own twist on it, making it a more gothic style. The gothic style of architecture became popular and became the new standard. The Pair Share Strategy is one of the ways that let students talk about an issue or topic in class is to use the think/write pair share method. (Lyman, 1992). In this strategy, I present a problem in the class and then give students 30 seconds to one minute to think about or write out their response. Then, the students pair up and explain their responses to one another for 3 to 5 minutes. Finally, the results are discussed, this technique takes only about 4 to 6 minutes of class time, and it could be done once in each class session. This strategy has worked successfully in my English class, where I introduced a topic about Community Service I asked my students to think about the role of community service work then I asked them individually about their decision and choices about doing a community service work. The class was asked to do community service work and students who changed their ideas and thoughts about it are asked why they did so. The Close Reading Strategy improves reading comprehension and provides engagement in the subject (Bass Linkon, 2009). In class, I model how to read and interpret a passage while the students follow in their books. After that, some students may be called individually to read aloud and interpret similar selections. After reading passages of a story, students will be divided into groups of three or two and be asked to talk about and decide what the selection means, and then paraphrasing it in their own words. I will ask the groups to give their interpretations and analysis before providing my analysis. The functionality of the application is based on Augmented Reality. Augmented Reality is an integration of the physical world along with the virtual world. Most of the people confuse Augmented Reality with Virtual Reality, but virtual reality is the simulation of the physical world in a virtual world. There is quite a difference like in acting a movie and watching a movie. The advantages of Augmented Reality is it minimizes the user interaction and maximizes the user experience. The usage scope of the Augmented Reality becomes exponential when it is combined with other technologies like Internet of Things or Artificial Intelligence. All these technologies if combined to make an application that is helpful for the daily needs of the users, then it becomes part of the technology revolution. The main idea of the use of Augmented Reality in this application is to let the users identify the objects using mobile phone. Human cognition is quite intelligent in identifying objects that they see daily. But, the same has to be achieved by the mobile phone. • 23. Summary Of The Poem Alone By Edgar Allen Poe The poem Alone by Edgar Allen Poe is a flashback of the narrator s childhood. Edgar Allen Poe uses various literary devices to create the loneliness felt by the narrator. The narrator uses a dark and gloomy tone to describe his childhood, words such as sorrow, alone, stormy, thunder, and gloomy are used to set up the tone of loneliness. The poem is what is referred to as a closed poem; this is evident by the AABB scheme used in the poem. The poem seems to follow an eight syllable rule per line. The use of eight syllables per line allows Edgar Allen Poe to create his closed poem. Through the use of a gloomy tone, the narrator can describe how as a child he s always felt alone and continues to feel so. In his twenty two line poem, Edgar Allen Poe uses eleven sets of rhyming couplets and an AABBCCDDEEFFGGHHIIJJKKLL rhyming scheme. The use of rhyming couplets and a different rhyme following each couplet allow Poe to create a suspenseful and foreboding effect. The first couplet From childhood s hour I have not been/ As others were I have not seen set out the theme of the poem, that being that the narrator wasn t like other children. Poe s use of diction is evident with the use of the word seen. the narrator did not see what many children saw, Poe s use of the word seen connects the narrator s senses of feel and sight. The narrator seems to feel as if he s different than others due to his inability to see what they saw. However, he fails to realize that despite possibly experiencing the same thing they experienced he could still be different than others due to the way he feels about what he saw and experienced. In line four My passions from a common spring the word spring could be both a symbol and a metaphor used by Poe. The word spring could refer to how the narrator didn t have a certain source to vent out his emotions to, perhaps a lack of a type of relationship with his family or a lack of friends. This lack of spring by the narrator has contributed to his sense of loneliness, thus continuing the overall theme. The fourth aims to explain how writing is undertaken to fulfill a brief description of the basis that underlies the study. • 28. Brave New World, And 1984 Replace The Existence Of God Throughout history, most religions have created a belief system where people are free to worship and praise God s existence, as well as acknowledge that they are constantly being watched by him. This confidence in God creates a sense of security and hope for the community that there is a purpose for their existence, and the world does not come to a tragic end after death. Yevgeny Zamyatin, Aldous Huxley, and George Orwell, authors of WE, Brave New World, and 1984 replace the existence of God with leaders or objects that symbolize their new God . Although the concepts of adoration and complete omniscience are still relevant throughout these novels, the God s created are merely based off of the governments beliefs and tactics. In these novels, the faces of God are simply the government in disguise; giving the people a sense of comfort by seeing intangible figures and faces, parallel to their old Gods. There is an innate inclination to believe in something larger than oneself, hence why the people are forced to believe in these government aliases. In each of the novels, the authors develop governments that create belief systems to match up with their ultimate goals, as well as to execute control, thereby keeping themselves in the seat of absolute power. In WE, Zamyatin creates a society known as One State that revolves not around the individual, but around the collective we, with the Benefactor in God like status at the center. The resonant sound of brass generates some tension in the form of dissonant chords. The combination of unusual sounds, vivid dynamics and rhythm changes, are incorporated in the symphony by Beethoven. However there is more as the first movement goes on. Beethoven uses a minor key for a short passage. The agitated sound of strings adds some tension and drama in the movement, which is finally resolved by the woodwinds. The clarinet and flute return music to a major key and a state of calm. The minor passage is a new concept which stands out the traditional symphony. It adds a different texture that clearly departs from the leading motive. This brief minor passage is also repeated so it may be thought of as a second motive. Another striking quality of this first movement is the use of a set of chords played by the whole orchestra. It serves as a bridge to connect the major and minor motives. Towards the end of the first movement, there is a brief passage embellished by the strings while the horns and trumpets remind us the sounds of the leading motive. The lively sound is interrupted by a brief minor passage. Then, the leading motive is repeated by the clarinet and flute. Industrial wastes are generally materialistic, including waste water and different chemicals. Among all the industries, chemical industry is known as most polluted sector. The main problem lays in the fact that the cost of raw materials and disposal of wastes are underestimated. In consequence, there are usually no economic incentives to develop waste free processes. In general, chemical industry is still not keen to alter chemical products and processes and prefers to deal with waste end of pipe. Recycling and waste prevention together is a very effective policy to solve the environmental problem in the chemical sector. Prevention of waste is meant by use of minimum waste at the source and also reduction in the use of raw materials and energy. Waste dumping standards accepted by industry is most important.
