A foreign body in the ear canal can cause trauma and infection, especially in young children ages 2-4 who may insert objects in their ears out of curiosity while playing. Common symptoms of a foreign body in the ear include ear pain, discharge, reduced hearing, and a sensation of fullness, but physical findings can vary depending on the type and size of the object and how long it has been lodged in the ear canal. A thorough history and physical exam is needed to identify the presence of a foreign body in the ear.

2. Introduction:
•Traumatic injury to the EAC may be induced by FB
usually in children by themselves or may be done by
a child to another child as part of their playing
together.
•Common age group is 2-4 years.

3. these FB can cause trauma & secondary infection
&/or secondary conductive deafness.

4. Clinical presentation:
History, signs & symptoms;
Most adults are able to tell the examiner that there
is something in their ear.
 children and older adults having a history of
pricking , continuous cleaning and scratching.

5.  signs & symptoms:
Ear pain.
Ear discharge.
Loss of hearing maybe noticed.
reduced hearing.
sense of fullness ,scratching or bleeding.
