This document discusses power boosting techniques for TD-LTE networks. It examines the use of different power boosting levels and their effects on reference signal power, cell coverage, SINR, and downlink throughput based on simulations. Power boosting 1 uses less power than power boosting 3, but power boosting 3 provides slightly better coverage and throughput while maintaining similar power consumption levels when using a higher reference signal power. The conclusion recommends using power boosting in areas with low-density coverage needs or dense urban environments dominated by high-rise buildings to improve penetration without requiring additional cell sites.
