Ground water is the main source of irrigation and 36%
Of irrigation is based on Rainwater
Electricity
24x7 of Free Electricity supply is given to Farmers

RURAL AREA PLANNING - KONNURECONOMY SECTOR
State Overview
Total availability of Feed in Telangana is 19.4 MT to the requirement of 31.8 MT ( 2012
livestock census )
Mahbubnagar was witnessing a deficit of 2.51 lakh metric tons of fodder , At present, only
6.53 lakh metric tons of fodder is available to feed about 57 lakh animals in the district.
According to Joint Director Animal husbandry
Livestock predominantly depend on crop residues as their main source of feed (>44%) in
India, which are low in nutritional quality. high in fiber and low in crude protein. Fodder
improves Growth and productivity of livestock
Fodder, a type of animal feed specifically to feed
domesticated livestock, such as cattle, rabbits, sheep,
horses, chickens and pigs.
* Census 2011
Eligibility and Benefits by the Scheme

add significant amounts of soil organic matter ,which in turn affect soil structure, water-
holding capacity, and resistance to both compaction and erosion.
Current Scenario of Fodder and Feed
*20.5 Acers of vacant land From Past 10 Years
