FNB recently launched Purchase Protect, a 30-day complimentary insurance for purchases made with their Virtual Card on Apple and Android Pay. Purchase Protect mines transaction data to identify qualifying purchases and sends app notifications to customers. If the purchased item is stolen within 30 days, the customer can submit a claim via the FNB app. Since launching, over 38,000 transactions have been insured totaling over R200 million, with over R32,000 paid out in 6 approved claims to date. Future enhancements will allow customers to submit claims and purchase additional insurance directly through the FNB app.
