Centre Name and Number:

Student Name and Number:
Charlie Atkin
Project proposal title and date:
Blood and Ice Cream
Main area of activity:
Graphic Design and Fanzine/Magazine
Rationale:
Over the 2 years in college I have just tried to enhance and make my skills in software such as
Photoshop, Illustrator as well as Premiere. Previously in college I have created multiple magazines
and some animations and films, the magazines were definitely my favourite projects as I can be
very solo and I have complete control over the entire project. Another thing that it let me do is work
on my Photoshop skills as this is one of the pieces of software I was familiar with by the more
practice I can get, the better I can get at the software.
Project Concept:
The concept of my project is to do go into depth about the details of Hot Fuzz, I am thinking that I
also want to do more of an art style project where I can show off a lot of artwork for my
project. I could also then convert the images that I am going to use for the backdrops for
my images into full scale art pieces that I can preview and show off. I think that I will have
to watch Hot Fuzz quite a few times when creating my artwork so that I can get in the
mood of the film. I think that getting in the mood of the film will help to create an authentic
mood and theme around my fanzine.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I plan on evaluating my work by looking across the internet and submitting my work to online
forums where fans of the film and all of Edgar Wrights work and seeing what those people’s
opinions are on the artwork that I have created and the actual magazine articles. I will also self-
reflect on all of my work and I will look at the work that I have previously done and compare the
products from my old projects to the newer products. Another thing that I’m going to do is reflect on
what I have done throughout the week and look back on my technique that I have used.
