 Morrisons to ditch unpopular Intelligent Queue Management System.
 Asda outlined its plans to expand operations in London and the South East, with the Walmart owned supermarket claiming a
“clear 5 year stragegy.”
 Aldi is planning to launch an online store in Britain, which would be its first foray into ecommerce in Europe.
 Petrogas, Ireland’s largest Irish independent forecourt retailer has made the move into noodle bars as franchise partner to
Chopstix Noodle Bar. Chopstix has 45 restaurants across the UK, serving “healthier” Oriental fusion fast food.
 Andrew and Debbie Keeble’s Harrogate Sausage Company has secured a major listing with Waitrose for its new skinless sausage.
 Asda has revealed its new wedding range for bridesmaids and pageboys, launching the George collection online today.
 Tesco is delisting Kingsmill bread from its stores and online from 23 March.
 Udi’s Gluten Free has won Waitrose listing for 16 products.
 Spar International has secured new licence agreement with two partners in Russia as to expand Spar retail operation in the
country. The deal with Intertorg and Azbuka Vkusa will result in the opening of 45 Spar stores in the Moscow region over next 12
months.

Juice drink brand Cherry Good is being re launched with
a brand new look after being bought by Refresco Gerber
earlier this year.
Scottish butcher Simon Howie is launching a Heston
Blumenthal inspired burger onto the retail market. The
Simon Howie Steak Burger is made using Blumenthal’s
‘noodling’ technique, which involves minced steak being
layered into honeycombed strands, with each burger cut
from a cross section.
British male grooming brand Bulldog has developed its
first moisturiser with sun protection.
Ultimate Sports Nutrition has launched three added protein
desserts. The sugar free Protein Mousse range, available from
Superdrug and independent health food stores now, comprises
peach & mango, café latte and strawberry & white chocolate
flavours that come in tubs containing 16 servings (rsp: £26.99).

Sausage, rolling into Asda this month.
Brothers Cider is looking to tap the coconut water boom with
the launch of a Coconut & Lime cider. Rolling out on 11 May to
Tesco, the new drink blends coconut water and lime with
Brothers pear cider in a 500ml bottle (rsp: £2.29).
Sun care brands Aloha and Calypso are launching sun
protection products designed to be applied to wet skin.
Stork, the leading baking brand from Unilever UK, is
launching Stork with Butter - a blend of butter and
Stork, available to retailers from April 2015.
Gluten free bakery brand, Mrs Crimble’s, has launched a spicy
new addition to its range – the Hot Chilli Cheese Crackers. Made
with 27% cheese, the new flavour joins the existing selection of
gluten free Cheese Crackers which already includes Rosemary
and Onion, Tomato and Pesto and Original Cheese varieties.

Hancocks is introducing E-ON and Tornado Energy to its energy drinks selection. Offering three
great flavors and presented in a contemporary styled 250ml can, E-ON has a recommended retail
price of just £1.09. Retailed in a reseal able 500ml can, Tornado Energy also offers tremendous
value at £1.09 RRP. Offering three different flavours; Activ, Storm and Ice, a single can will give you
an energy boost to last all day. Both are on promotion giving a robust 57% margin to retailers.

Today’s Group has launched an own-
label sub-brand Today’s Select For Pets
– a new range dedicated entirely to pet
food, offering a highly-competitive 30%
POR for retailers. The launch kicks off
with two dog food variants, chicken and
beef, price-marked £1.15 for 1200g and
four smaller cat and dog food variants –
chicken, beef and fish – price-marked
55p for 400g.

Mondelēz International is introducing new 50p promotional price-
marked packs on its best-selling countlines. The new 50p (RRP)
promotional PMPs will be launched from the end of March on
countline packs of Cadbury Twirl, Cadbury Wispa, Cadbury
Crunchie, Cadbury Boost, Cadbury Double Decker and Cadbury
Dairy Milk.
Nestle Confectionery’s flagship brand KITKAT is launching KitKat
Chunky Orange this summer. The bar will be available as a limited
edition and has an RRP of 60p.
Cadbury Dairy Milk is launching the first ever tablet containing a
soft centred flavoured filling - Cadbury Dairy Milk Puddles.
Available from 7th April, Cadbury Dairy Milk Puddles features a fun
mould made up of rippled puddle shapes filled with a flowing
hazelnut or mint flavoured filling.
Coca-Cola Enterprises Ltd is investing heavily in leading
mixers brand, Schweppes, with the launch of an
innovative range. A three-strong range of Schweppes
Sparkling Juice Drinks will also be available to retailers –
to tap into the popularity of adult soft drinks – which are
in 9.1% growth. The new line-up includes Grapefruit &
Blood Orange, Orange & Cranberry and Lemon &
Elderflower variants.
Nestle has launched a line of frozen yoghurt bars under its
Outshine brand in the US.
Hellmann’s, the mayonnaise brand from Unilever UK,
is launching a new variant into its dressings portfolio
ahead of summer; Hellmann’s With Olive Oil
Mayonnaise Style Dressing, rolling out to retailers
from April 2015. Available in both a jar and an easy-
to-use squeezy format, it has all the goodness of
Hellmann’s along with the same taste, but features a
blend of olive oil and is a good natural source of
Omega 3.

 Kraft Foods and Heinz have announced that they are to merge, in a deal which the two companies say would create the fifth-
largest food and beverage company in the world, with revenues of $28bn.
 Bakery Haywood & Padgett has acquired the snack brand Nibnibs in a deal which will allow the smaller company to expand its
production capabilities.
 HIG Capital has agreed to acquire Adelie Foods in a deal that sees it take over a majority share in the chilled food-to-go business,
owner of Food Partners.
 Nugene Biopharma, a subsidiary of Nugene International, a company that focuses on age-defying aesthetic products for skin and
hair, has acquired SkinGuardian - an FDA-approved skin protectant, antiseptic and moisturizing topical cream.
 Brewer Marston’s has signed a deal with Daniel Thwaites to acquire its beer division, including Wainwright and Lancaster
Bomber ales.
 European private equity firm Pamplona Capital Management has acquired Hungary’s Partner in Pet Food for €315m (£230m).
